Once my hair was trimmed and we discussed the curl pattern, she began the perming process. She talked me through the process of the curly perm and helped me feel comfortable during my appointment. It was busy that day but Grace always made time to checked on me. My appointment was about two hours long and I loved the way hair looked when she was finished. Grace gave me amazing tips on how to maintain the volume and curls, and recommended some products for me to use. She said that I could any products that I'm comfortable with, but I decided to purchase the shampoo, hair treatment, and hair moisture curl that was available at her salon. I used her products for my first hair wash, and my curls still look amazing. I'm definitely going to be buying more from her salon. I had a good experience at Glamourous Hair Salon. Grace has great customer service skills, and is very knowledgable about curl perms and hair. I love my curls and I will be back.

PRE-APPOINTMENT…read more Joyce, the owner, asked for a reference photo before my appointment. After seeing both my inspiration photo and my current hair, she responded, "That's totally possible" and said the look would suit me well. I wanted a slightly richer strawberry blonde than my natural strawberry blonde. Before the service, I explained that my hair is extremely porous and that red tones have historically not faded from my hair. DURING During processing, I became concerned because my roots were developing a very bright, "hot" orange color. I mentioned it, but was told not to worry and to trust the process. While blow-drying, Joyce stopped and acknowledged there was a problem. She admitted she should have listened more carefully about my hair's porosity, which I appreciated. She asked me to return the next day so she could research the issue, explaining it was a new color line and that the correction attempts were not working. PROBLEM Unfortunately, even after two appointments, the color could not be corrected and there was nothing further she could do. Anything would damage it even more. And the color couldn't be guaranteed with bleach; it would be unpredictable. My roots are now unnaturally reddish burgundy, while the mid-lengths and ends are uneven shades of auburn and blonde. The color is patchy, the roots remain visibly mismatched, and the final result looks nothing like the reference photo I provided. At this point, correcting the color would likely require bleaching to lift the artificial pigment. Given my hair's porosity, that would cause additional damage and significantly increase the risk of breakage. After the unsuccessful correction attempts, I respectfully requested a refund. It was declined. I would not recommend this salon for color services, particularly copper or red shades. The attached photo shows the inspiration photo on the left and my final result on the right. FYI: The business also operates under the name Heroes & Legends Barbershop.
