Went back to Jieun for color and add more layers. Jieun actually took her time to discuss what I wanted and would give me realistic advice. She didn't want to do anything drastic that would damage my hair. I've had other stylist that didn't care and damaged my hair. So I truly appreciate Jieun for her professionalism and care for her clients. My roots grew out and I had blonde hair at the bottom. I wanted to go dark brown but not too dark. Jieun showed me a sample of what the color would be. Jieun took her time and extremely detailed in not getting dye on my face/skin. That's a first for me because I've always gotten dye from the other stylist not really caring. After the color, I asked for more layers and Jieun told me she will add more layers but she didn't want to make the layers too short and make my hair like a poodle. The end result, loving the new color which she said would make my hair look healthy which she is definitely right. She gave me the layers I wanted and still kept my length of not going too short. Moral of this story, I can't wait to go back to do something new to my hair. I usually dread going to get my hair done but the 1st and 2nd visits, I got what I asked for and extremely happy. I have been getting my hair cut and color done by Joy the past 10+ years. She is the only one that I can trust with my hair. She is not one of those other stylists who are in the business just for the money. She always tells you the truth, whether the look that you imagine can be brought into reality or not. I just had the best haircut of my life. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Jieun is immaculate with her cutting technique. Truly a professional, and better than all the barbers I've ever gone to within a 10-mile radius. I really appreciated the initial consultation and examination of my hair/head shape. She accounted for even the smallest of details like the direction my hair grew at each point of my head and knowing exactly how to cut/shape my hair to complement my face. Jieun was amazing! I had been growing out my hair for a while and wanted to come in for a two block haircut and had a specific style in mind. She was able to talk me through my different options and small touches to make sure my cut fitted exactly what I wanted and would look good on me - and even gave me a few styling tips on how to do things myself at home. Jessica Lee Makeup Studio works with Jieun and brought her to do the bride and bridesmaids hair for my sister's wedding day. We haven't met or seen any of Jieun's work before, so we weren't sure of how the results would be. Jessica insisted that we were in good hands and surely enough, she was right. I've been going to Joy for the past two years now. Within that time, I've gotten 3 different hair styles from her; boy short, bob, & bangs. Before going to Joy, I hardly ever went to hair salons to cut my hair because it just wasn't worth the investment: the time, the cost, and the results were always disappointing. The biggest issue I had with other hair stylists were that they were always hesitant to give me the look I wanted. It was either "Oh that look won't go with your angular face," or "That's a hard one to pull off." This was the initial difference when I first met Joy. She said "Okay, let's do it. I may give it a slight twist so that it fits your face the best, but I can make it work." And since then, she's never failed to do so. If anything, every one of my cuts were met with compliments and referrals. I didn't realize the fun and difference hair style changes could make in my day to day. Another huge difference in Joy's approach to hair cuts is that she really really takes her time. She's so keen on every detail and will cut it until she feels it's perfection.
