The lady Kay was nice but didn't at all give me what I asked for I wanted platinum blonde highlights I showed her photos and she gave me nothing like what I asked for and when she started styling my hair she didn't even brush it before she used a iron which was steaming from how hot it was btw and it kept getting caught like half way though then she started adding more toner when my hair was already blow dried and just wrapped a foil in it and tried to spray it off with water but it was still there I would NOT recommend this place this is horrible wasted 200 dollars I really really would not go here to get ur hair done and to get this fixed to what I wanted in the first place is going to cost another 200 something that is already 400 way to much just to get the right highlights. My favorite thing about Royal Hair & Nails is just how much of a family they really are. It's been almost a year since I have been to the salon and the moment I called Susan, who, by the way has been my nail tech for years and is truly an angel and her work is amazing, she immediately recognized my phone number and knew exactly who I was and made me feel at home. I sent Kay a message with just one inspirational picture and she knocked it out of the park. I was a completely dark brunette, and she worked her magic and turned me into something I never thought that I could ever achieve. We took off about 3 inches of hair. She gave me a conditioning treatment as well and my hair feels absolutely amazing. I called for hair cut Monday afternoon and later decided that I want to dye my hair and Kay was awesome about it. She really took her time and made sure I was fine. She listens to what you say and want. This is definitely the color and style I wanna go for and she nailed it. Very approachable and respects everyone. Does not force you to anything and do her best to make sure you will be satisfied. This is the only salon that didnt sell me any extra. Nails: Horrible. I had old gel on and instead of wrapping My nails in aluminum foil & cotton to soak off she filed it off. I guess it was easier for her. Needless to say my nails were so thin that they broke and split 3 days later. I had to cut and file them short. I also noticed most of their polish is old and smells like they add polish remover to thin out the old polish. Hair: Done by Lam. He did a decent job although I think the bleach was left on too long and my hair looks dry and washed out. He was scrambling around with other clients (I didn't have an appointment and was a walk-in so that's not entirely his fault). Although, I have a feeling that is just the way they operate here because The other female stylist was doing the same with her clients. A Total of $170 spent. Not worth it, and I won't be returning. My Reply from salons Comment: It wasn't even a spa pedicure they brought a tub of like warm water over. (Old school). Not relaxing or comfortable. I picked a color for my toes based on a poster you had hanging there. The color looked nothing like it. I said I'm sorry, It doesn't look the same. I don't like it. They didn't seem happy that I wanted it changed,so I said I'll pay for the color change. She gladly added another $5 for the change. (Kind of petty consisting what I was spending at the shop that day). You don't file off gel polish! You file the top layer and soak off the rest. I told the lady that my regular manicurist said to never file or pick off the color and she said nothing and continued. I think she's the owner, so I just don't get it. Although a bit dry and one dimensional like box color, (you curled it up so I didn't notice until I shampooed and blow dried it myself the following day). My hair is the only reason I gave 3 stars. If it was for the nails only, I'd be leaving 1 star. Within days my nails were splitting on the sides and getting snagged on my clothing and hair. I had to file and cut them down. I can usually go 3-4 weeks between gel manicures. I got them done at your place on 7/10 and have already had to have them done at a different shop. And I'll be putting the pink back in my hair soon. Sorry Lam, you do seem like a nice person, but this is my experience & my honest review. It seems like most people have had a positive experience at this shop. Maybe this salon is just not a good fit for me. read more
