I would like to tell everyone what an amazing experience I had with Memory Lane Estate Sales. My…read moremother had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and my sister was her caretaker, my sister passed away in May and I the only child left had to take charge. I live in Chicago my Family home was in Belton Mo and I had no references or any knowledge of where to start. I found Memory Lane Estates Sales on the Internet, first one I saw near our home so Icalled. I spoke with Joe, I told him my situation and told him I had no idea what to do or where to start and he answered all of my questions. I spoke to Joe several times with questions of what to do next and never even had a contract with him and he answered every question I had. When it came down to it other estate sale companies told me that I did not have enough for a full complete estate sale. What did Joe do, he stepped in and said I told you from the beginning I would help you out and that's what he did he came looked at our home And offered us a dollar that was very generous. It really helped at those final days when I was very stressed out and trying to complete this project of getting the house emptied out, fixed and ready to put on the market. By the time it came time for me to go back to Chicago to get back to my job the comfort level I had with Joe allowed me to leave with no worries or concerns that I was not in good hands. I highly, highly recommend Memory Lane Estate Sale , Joe and his wife are not only in the business for money but they are definitely there to support the family. I gave them a five star rating and I hope that if you find yourself in a position where you cannot be there at all times or are not from the area that you can reach out to this company and have Joe as your representative. Sincerely, Ron Culver

I recently finished working with this company on an estate sale for my in-laws and would HIGHLY…read morerecommend them. My husband, his sister and I were facing moving/removing a massive amount of furniture and household goods on a fairly short timeline (from a rental) which was a daunting, stressful task in our eyes. Clay, Dudley and Lynne made us feel completely comfortable and handled everything for us from unboxing stored items, setting up, pricing, running the sale and arranging for a charity to come fill a truck with what was left. The charity was also just as professional. I've never used an estate sales company before so the first thing I did was to educate myself on what to look for. I attended sales of seven different companies and evaluated them on a whole list of things including 1) greeting customers, 2) good signage, 3) clear and neat tagging, 4) clearly marked stairways for safety, 5) background research to ensure they had been in business at least ten years, etc. I chose the top two (which included Absolute Estate Sales) and interviewed them in person with a big list of questions. You'll find good questions if you research estatesales.net. I was pleasantly surprised by the detailed accounting of each item sold which was a bit complicated since we had items from three families. I will recommend this company to friends and family members facing a downsizing like ours. They took all of the potential stress out of it!

My husband and I met with Lynne and Dudly Collums of Absolute Estate Sales to have them arrange a…read moresale of household furnishings. They met with us in a timely manner, picked dates for the 3 day sale, and signed a contract with my husband. We chose Absolute Estate Sales because of a recommendation from a friend and based on their website. The website clearly explains the sale process and what they will do before, during, and after the sale. We were impressed by the thoroughness that they showed in their explanations. http://www.absoluteestatesales.net/index.php During the contract discussion, Dudly asked us what we wanted done with items that were left from the sale. He said that they had a charity that they work with. We asked that they call the charity to remove unsold items. This was agreed on, but it was not put into the contract. He said that the trash would be bagged and put on the back deck. This was stated in the contract. The Absolute Estate Sale crew came in, marked, and arranged all items. They did an amazing job, since there was a huge amount of furnishings and household items. They took 79 pictures, which they displayed on their website. Their publicity was good. When we drove by the sale, they always had a lot of people there. They took 30% of the proceeds, which seemed reasonable to us and was the agreed upon amount. A check was provided in a timely manner and delivered by registered mail. It cleared, as expected. Overall, we were satisfied with the way our sale was handled by Absolute Estate Sales. They did fulfill all of the terms of the written contract. However, we did have some surprises. According to the website, a sale recap is to be provided. That did not happen, nor was it in the contract. We had expected a cleared out house. It was not. If a charity was called, as Dudly said it would be, we did not see any sign of it, nor were we provided with a donation slip. After the sale we were left with unsold items. We removed about 30 boxes of books and 10 bags of clothing. The clothing had been mostly bagged and piled into the bathtub. A sofa bed was left. Most of the trash was on the deck, and so were two older, but working tvs. They were rained on. There was a small amount of trash scattered about the house and garage. Two doors that were taken off their hinges were still off the hinges. I estimate that we had about 24 man-hours of work to do to completely empty the house and dispose of the household items. Perhaps it was our misunderstanding, but we didn't expect this. I would suggest having EVERYTHING spelled out in the contract. Overall, we were satisfied. I give this company a solid 4 stars. My rating is based on several things. They did a lot of hard work getting ready for the sale and selling our items. I would give them 5 stars for the before and during the sale implementation. After the sale would be about 2 1/2 stars for the lack of follow through. I would be happy to recommend them or to hire them again.
