My son was referred last week by his pediatrician to see the podiatrist. Within about 20 minutes of leaving his appointment the podiatrist office called me to schedule his appointment. I have never had a referral happen so quickly! They had an appointment available Monday morning. Check in was quick and easy, done in just over a minute. We were called in at the appointment time. The nurse asked some questions and looked at my son's toe that was giving him some trouble. She advised what she though the treatment options would be. Dr. Thomas came in just a couple minutes later and said the same thing the nurse did. He gave us our options. I made a decision but my son was very scare of the shot and the procedure. Dr. Thomas was amazingly patient while my son had his freak out. He remained calm and tried to help me to get my son to understand what needed to be done and why. This took a good 15 minutes, but in the end Dr. Thomas did the procedure. It was over pretty quickly and my son became interested in the procedure. He answered all my son's questions about what he was doing, what tools he used, anything my son was curious about. I am truly shocked at how nice the nurse and Dr. Curt Thomas were. The fact they were also able to do this same day was more than appreciated. I really can't think of anything that could have been better. Thank you Dr. Thomas and care team! read more

This is my first SRS visit and I want to give a shout out to Dr. Deborah Oh and her team. I needed an urgent appointment to an endocrinologist because my labs were horrible. I explained my situation to Robin and Robin went above and beyond to inquire my unique situation with Dr. Oh. Dr. Oh reviewed my labs and medical records and expressed her concerns and allowed Robin to schedule me when there was a cancellation. Robin called and followed up with me and scheduled me quickly. (I really appreciate you Robin for doing this because I was freaking out). Checking in went very smoothly. The front desk receptionist was very sweet and friendly. Thank you for checking me in so quickly and validating my parking. I was so new and didn't know anything. Kristina, Dr. Oh's nurse, got me in and checked my vitals. She was also sweet and friendly. She printed and faxed my lab orders as I checked out. She made sure Dr. Oh knew my labs that wasn't in my medical records and she answered all my questions. Thank you Dr. Oh for giving me the privilege to see you and hear my health concerns. You were very friendly and you answered all my questions as well. I was really freaking out about my condition. Thank you for setting up a game plan for me to get better! I know you're super busy and booked out for a few months but I want to thank you for everything you have done so far for me. I am a former Kaiser patient for 20+ years. Sharp Rees Stealy may appear the same as KP but do not be fooled. It's extremely difficult to get care here. They give you the runaround and gatekeep procedures. Their mail order pharmacy CVS Caremark is the worst I have ever encountered. My call log says I have been on the phone with CVS Caremark 809 minutes in the past three weeks. And, the issue is still not resolved. Do not use them. I will be going back to Kaiser in the fall! read more

They outsource their doctors and you will get double billed for everything here. They also do not properly bill or code items so you will pay out of pocket when the bill is denied by insurance for improper coding. I've reached out to customer service for about 2 years now trying to clear up a bill that was improperly coded and my insurance will pay if this company will get their head out of their ass and actually fix the coding on it, but they won't. Avoid ALL hospitals or offices associated with TEAM HEALTH and SHARP as they are all scammers and will not properly do their jobs. They will bill you for services NOT rendered and there is evidently no recourse or person to talk to because all you get in touch with is a billing department. Looking into filing charges for fraud at this point. I don't need this kind of stress in my life over something that is in no way my fault and should have been properly done or fixed the first 5 times I called in about it. read more

I'm not one to write reviews, but what a terrible experience trying to schedule an appointment at this location. I messaged their staff of a health issue I was dealing with and then was given a link to schedule with a new PCP (who Sharp transferred me to without notification). This appointment was three months out. I told them this wouldn't work, and asked if they could just refill my prescription (that my doctor in their network originally prescribed). Instead, they told me to schedule with their nurse practitioner, which was still over a month away. I had only two messages in our thread, but they decided to close it so I'm unable to talk to them. I understand this location is busy, but it really seems like they don't care at all. Sharp has good doctors, but I'm very disappointed in their administration. Limited seating in the cramped lobby but outside offers comfortable rockers near a fountain. Came for a glucose test and the woman at the front desk is pretty rude. She will talk about you to her coworker that is sitting next to her as if you don't exist. She also seems to bully said coworker a lot. PATIENT BEWARE! I went in for simple blood work and came out with a bill of $600+ that Sharp Rees-Stealy has made impossible to pay. I didn't receive the bill in the mail until it went to a debt collector called Progessive Management Systems. I call the debt collector because they only provide you their phone number and no other legitimate way to pay. I ask if they have a website to pay, after a bunch of back and forth with the woman on the phone, she finally admits they have a website but it's down. I continue to demand what this website address is until she gives it to me. To my surprise, the website is working. She lied to me. Anyways, I want to pay my bill. They don't accept Visa, shocker. You have to have a Mastercard or Discover, which most people have Visa. Another way they don't want you to pay your bill so it can accrue interest. So I finally pay my bill using a non-visa card via their Papaya service at www.pmscollects.com. After completing the payment, I'm advertised $30 fee to REMOVE MY CARD INFORMATION FROM BEING LEAKED ON THE WEB. WHAT??? They want more money out of you by scaring you into thinking your information is unsafe!!!! I have never been treated so poorly for trying to be a good person and pay my dues. I am completely disappointed in Sharp Rees Stealy poor customer service, poor choice of a debt collector, and worst of all is they may not even know all this! This Progressive Management Systems company staff don't want you to pay your bill! Do a better job at choosing vendors and get rid of this total cr*p of a debt collector company. I cannot express just how terrible of an experience I had with Dr. Laurie Townsend. I rarely write reviews of negative experiences but feel it's important to warn other prospective patients who are considering establishing care with her. While doing a brief search of her reviews, it seems many other patients share a very similar experience, as I found her average rating to be 1.6 stars. To start, she has absolutely zero bedside manner, she is abrasive, presumptuous, harsh, extremely sarcastic, and challenging. She seemed to be on a power trip immediately upon walking in the door. Her first words to me were not even an introduction of herself. Rather, her first words to me were "You haven't even gotten "x" test done? (I'm not including the name of specific test for my privacy). During the entire visit, she never asked me a single question regarding my current symptoms or concerns. Her nurse was very kind and took the time to understand my concerns. This was something that Dr. Townsend clearly had no interest in doing. She refused to provide me with a referral for a specialist. I was assured by her triage nurse when scheduling the appointment that Dr. Townsend could provide a referral after seeing me. When I told dr. Townsend this, she dissed her own staff, stating they "don't have medical training." Instead, she insisted on repeating several labs that I already had done recently elsewhere and told her I'd be happy to send her those medical records to review. I asked her what the next steps would be if her repeated labs came back normal and she sarcastically retorted "I'll have to think about that," without any further discussion. I ended up in the ER with excruciating pain 2 days later due to the same issue, as a result of her negligence and complete disregard of my office visit two days prior. I was referred to an orthopedic specialist for a rotator cuff injury by my primary doctor. When I called the orthopedic referral I was told my case had to reviewed before I could get an appointment. The review process, I was told, takes 7 to 10 days and then, if approved, takes about 6 weeks to see the orthopedic specialist, all the time my injury is not being treated. I am a veteran and would probably get faster treatment through the VA or Medical. I am very disgusted with Sharp Rees Stealy and would not recommend them. Dr's are good but avoid their insurance: Sharp Health Plan - Medicare Advantage. They say they cover behavioral health, but then they subcontract the care out and that changes who is in network and who is out of network. It's a real pain to then call and call to try to get it fixed. I recommend moving to original Medicare. read more

I always park (for 20 years) at Grossing Center and walk up the stairs and across the street. The parking garage is a claustrophobe's nightmare. The check in person was disinterested. She asked for my cards and then tapped away while I stood there. I found myself wishing for a cheery smile. The ultimate would have been if she said, I have to type in my computer and it will be just a moment. Is that ok with you? I'm sure she's tired of her job as a PATIENT SERVICES Representative, but gee girl... The medical Assiatant was epic! I can't recall her name but she was working with Dr Roth that day. I had an appointment with my doctor, Dr. Leonard at Sharp Rees-Stealy. Just a routine check-up. I arrived about 15 minutes prior to my appointment and self-checked in at the kiosk which is always a convenience. I sat down to wait in one of the socially distanced chairs. Just about right at my appointment time I was called in. My wait was less than 10 minutes. Nurse Kenzie could not have been more cheerful, sweet or professional. She performed all the preliminary stuff. Height (not very), weight (too much) then led me to the exam room where she took my blood pressure (too high) and pulse (hey, one out of four!). She left and gave way to Dr. Leonard. Dr. Leonard, as per usual, was his super nice self. He is so down to earth and approachable as a doctor. I have a really good comfort level with Dr. Leonard. He explains things in a language which I can understand. He doesn't get all "doctory" if you know what I mean. He spent 20 minutes or so going over my vitals, etc. He then told me to have a nice day that was that. Nurse Kenzie returned to administer my tetanus shot. Once again she was super sweet. She was such a pro, I didn't even feel the shot and I'm a big candy-ass when it comes to needles. If Nurse Kenzie and Dr. Leonard are the standard, it should not matter who your doctor is at Rees-Stealy. You will undoubtedly receive top quality care. read more

The doctors, nurses, and care team were great. The pharmacy, however needs more work with specifically one particular clerk. He needs to have better customer service. I think the pharmacy tech or clerk that helped me was Edward. I am hard of hearing and he seemed to be impatient with me when I was paying. I could tell with his tone of voice and I could see him making faces with the other clerk. He just tossed me my medication without a word. He didn't even wait for me to answer if I wanted to talk to the pharmacist. All he said was "any questions? No? Ok" And dismissed me. It was my first time taking the medication too. I was very disappointed when I entered the facility. I understand that covid19 has created issues but I don't feel they are even doing an adequate job with safety. Healthy 43 year old father of 7. I've come in to this ER back to back days and left with the exact same problem. I was diagnosed with pneumonia (I've never had it before) and am experiencing a ton of pain and trouble breathing as a result. After returning the second day due to increased pain and breathing issues only to be told 7 1/2 hours later to just keep doing what I'm doing. They would not offer to help with breathing or pain issues. Please go somewhere else that is more concerned about the patient than their bottom line. read more

Dr. Mary Alexander has been my doctor during an earlier part of my life when I was a career working woman back in the 80's and 90's and 2000's and then when I retired when I turned 66 and a few months, I started medicare and came back and decided to select her as my primary internist. She is just as thorough and listens to patients with solutions to their medical issues and concerns. I have been very satisfied with her medical expertise and professionalisn and also her empathy with patients health struggles. I had to go to the ER as I broke my toe pretty badly. From the moment I got there, I was attended to with care and dignity. The security guard let me park right up front and ran to get someone with a wheelchair. I had my children with me (2) as well. They wheeled me around for check in and immediately to a room, With plenty of seats/space for me and my girls. The nurses were all nice, the x ray technicians were very accommodating. The PA was nice, efficient in giving my options. Even though I was there about 3 hours, it did not feel like it. I remember commercials talking about the 'Sharp Experience' and that is what I got - the best medical experience and care. Called the after hours pediatric nurse line for advice for the 2nd time in nearly 6 months (first time parents here) - both times = 0 star experience. After waiting nearly 2.5 hours the first time I received a call from an extremely passive aggressive nurse who asked what I would have done had I not been able to call their line (this seems to be a regular question they ask, as I was asked the same tonight.) I responded that I would have had to google the answer to the question and she replied "oh, Dr. Google" and then made some ridiculous rude comment about if I had all the answers why would I call them. I then had to remind her of the question she had just posed to me! The remainder of that call was awkward and she had a major attitude and did not provide me with any profound advice - I would have had less stress sticking to research online and her horrible attitude didn't exactly sell her expertise. Tonight the person who took my call to route it to the nurses made it a laborious process, forcing me to constantly repeat myself. She had a prolonged style of speech as if to waste as much time as possible and every single thing was repeated even though we are established patients there with files that should be easily accessible. If they can find you in their system as a patient why ask for repeated spellings of names, phone #s repeated back, etc etc? This is a line people call for quick advice for their babies and children. Even after saying and spelling the name of our pediatrician more than once, after validating all of the other info multiple times, I was asked what location we go to (!) when the Dr. practices from 1 location. Now, again we are approaching 3 hours out from my call and I have heard from no one. I love our pediatrician but the after hours nurse line is a complete failure. They need better management to audit these calls and to hire call center staff who enjoy helping people and can do so in a quick and efficient way. If you call and encounter someone with a fake sing songy Miss Rachel voice, hang up and try again because I'm 99% sure my request was never routed to a nurse this evening and that employee should be fired. I came here as part of a workman's comp gig. I was crawling underneath some tables in my classroom plugging in some computer when and where I contracted a lower lumbar sprain. After being urged to come by the office staff, I ended up here. I had to wait a little bit because I was a walk in. My doctor who treated my was cordial and asked a battery of questions to get a clear picture of my injury. After, a few X-Rays and an examination of the area, the doctor confirmed what I had, a sprain. I was prescribed some muscle relaxers and pain killers. I was also given instruction of some moderate stretching exercises to help with the injury. Well, to make a long story short, I am feeling much better, except for some periodic stiffness in the area and minor pain, I am back, much to the chagrin of my students. Ha! read more

I was forced to leave the review on here because unfortunately the lab itself does not have a yelp page where people can review it, and after the Interaction myself and several other patient pad with the lady in the picture below, I can see exactly why they don't have a yelp page or why they would be embarrassed to post one. This lady was absolutely miserable and beyond horrible to the people who walked in as well as her fellow coworkers. Because of social distancing I was sitting roughly 6 to 8 feet from where she was seated at her desk, one of her coworkers (Susan I believe - who by the way is absolutely great, Susan is a sweetheart!!) walked out of the back room and called a patients name for them to come back and get their blood drawn, when the patient didn't answer the lady in the picture stood up and literally screamed at the top of her lungs and a very angry and condescending voice "SHE'S IN THE FREAKIN' HALLWAY!!!!" I felt really bad for the lady she screamed at because this lady was ultimately the lady who drew my blood and she was nothing but a complete professional. In fact, she was super super nice and went above and beyond when taking care of me. When the angry looking lady in the picture screamed at her, Susan I believe, whom I have never bet before today, stayed extremely calm and remain professional the entire time. Susan simply said, "I'm sorry I didn't hear anyone say anything.." finally, the angry sounding woman behind the desk rolled her eyes and just huffed and puffed under her breath! :-/ In the future, if I have any choice whatsoever I will definitely not return back to this laboratory, the way that jerk treated that really nice employee was absolutely unequivocally unacceptable!!
