Imagine my surprise when this young guy, Miguel, shows up (I admit I was skeptical because he looked like a high schooler). He asks me to describe the problem, and actually LISTENS, takes notes, and gets to work right away. He was here checking every connection and determined the problem. Even replaced the batteries in our main thermostat. Suggested a course of action, put everything back together and promised to get us an estimate in a few days. Did I mention he wire these little booties covering his shoes so as not to damage or dirty my wood floors? I've never experienced such an articulate, professional & knowledgeable technician. He was also able to explain the problem and the solution to me in a way that I understood our options. I can't say enough about him & this company. Ten minutes later the owner John came up my walk and I directed him to the crawl space, whereupon he emerged 5 minutes later with the verdict: the 12 year old water heater was DOA and leaking. Since my mechanicals are all squeezed into a crawl-space, he would need to locate a new heater designed to fit in such spaces. He spent about 10 minutes on his phone and told me he could have a supply house in Hanover drive one right up. Additionally, he told me an electrician would be necessary to install an emergency cutoff switch and offered his go-to guy if I didn't have one. I didn't and he made the call. An hour later he came back with his helper and the new tank. Meyer Electric out of Swartswood showed up 10 minutes later and both crews went to work. 3 hours elapsed and I was back in business! I am completely satisfied with the workmanship and with the fast response to hot water dilemma. I love that the operation is a family affair and local. I'm lucky too that John has a good relationship with Bill Meyer Electric, who came on very short notice and did the work for a fair price. Stated they could respond between 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. today. Advised me they would text me when on their way. Text received at 11:43 and they arrived at 12:25. Kyler greeted me pleasantly and after inspecting the job, provided a verbal quote: $395. (ouch). Job completed in 45 minutes, no problems. And he checked other pressure relief valves as well. Is this too much to $$ for a simple pressure relief valve replacement - yes! Because of their outstanding service would I call them again? - absolutely!

He said, after cleaning the clogged chimney cap, that my whole chimney pipe was clogged and needed cleaning. There was very, very little that came out in the cleaning. He or his helper broke the lock on the door. I noticed the break after he had left. I told him and he refused to admit it, and tried to gaslight me. I hung up on him. He then texted me and offered to pay for the cheap part, but did not offer to repair it for me. I still haven't been able to get it fixed. The $400- $500 estimate came out to well over $600.
