I've been touring the last month on a 60k mile 2016 Ultra Limited. Coming through Oregon a few days ago, I started having some serious clutch/transmission problems. Took it to Shasta explaining I'm travelling. They got me in right away and after a couple hours, they broke the news to me. Main transmission shaft bearings went out. It would take at least 10 days to get the parts in. The sales manager asked if he could get me out the door on a brand new bike for less money than my repairs would cost, would I be interested in doing it? Long story short, they sent me out the door on a new Ultra Limited for far less money than what my repair would have been. Dealer never worked out problems on the bike. I now have a bike that I can't trust and just sits collecting dust. what a rip off.

I dropped my bike off for two factory recalls, trusting them to handle it properly. I specifically told them I use the bike every day to commute to work, and they assured me it would be ready the next day after leaving it overnight. Instead, they only completed one recall and wanted me to leave it several more days for the second part. I couldn't afford to be without my only transportation, so I had to take it back unfinished. Just a few days later, I removed the seat and discovered a sheared-off bolt exactly where they had worked on the recall. I've never performed my own service -- this was clearly their mistake. When I contacted them, they basically denied responsibility and said the bike "wouldn't have left the shop like that." The frustration and lack of accountability left me feeling completely let down by a dealership I expected better from. Fellow Harley riders -- beware. If you need recall service at Shasta Harley, go somewhere else. They're unreliable, unwilling to stand behind their work, and may leave you stranded or with new damage. Shasta Harley Davidson finally got me to trade my bike in and in no way am I disappointed. They worked with everything thing I was looking for including budget. Jeremy the sales rep was absolutely awesome. I came in with my wife and kids just to look at options. Once we started talking numbers he got right to work found the bike that would make me finally trade in the first bike ive ever owned. While we were waiting, my son who is 5 loves Pokémon. Jeremy noticed and started talking Pokémon and even showed him a few things with the Pokémon game. This is a solicited review from this business. in fact, they will not allow customers to enter a drawing unless you write reviews in THREE separate social media platforms. I have reserved judgement hoping things would get better over time, however the current store manager is running this place into the ground. Such a disappointment. I was so excited when this dealership came under new ownership. Yet they have completely killed the HOG club and that is just the first sign of the poor management. The ladies in motorclothes are always great, Marcus should be store manager, he is always positive and offers good customer service. The "contests" are fixed. This is the third time since the new owners took over that the "winner" was changed from their voting process. Today was a hot wing sauce contest, and it was ridiculous. Why let employees compete with customers if you do not even have enough wings for people to try each sauce? The overall vibe at this dealership has gone down so far it's heartbreaking. As far as their bikes sales, I would not trust a used one past the edge of the lot. Their technicians took over an hour to discover a new rider had simply ran out of gas on a sporty and charged her $150 to tell her! This is after selling her a bike with a non working speedometer. Today I asked for a part for my Harley. I am in the computer yet they still needed my VIN off my bike. instead of offering to get off their stool and looking at my bike in the parking lot (or looking it up in their system) they sent me out to get it myself. Tim is the only helpful employee behind the parts counter. I usually do not even try to get anything there unless dealing with Tim. I encourage everyone to use local shops like Shane at Elite or Tony at Xtreme for any and all things motorsports. If you HAVE to go to a HD Dealer make the short drive to Chico as many of us have already been doing for years. Pressing unhappy customers to write reviews because you feel the "bad reviews" are all just leftovers from the "old owners" will likely result in more bad reviews. I'm am not someone who bashes businesses however the continued poor treatment by the store manager and some staff, while being told to give reviews, well I am nothing if not honest. I started looking for a new bike a few weeks ago. I went to Shasta Harley's website and saw a few bikes, so I went down to the dealership and looked at them. Didn't really see anything I liked. So, I waited a few days and took a second trip out to the dealership. They had just taken a nice Road King in on trade and agreed to get it ready to sell for me, so I came back a few days after that. I found that I did not like getting on and off the Road King. I finally found a 2015 Low Rider in their inventory that was excellent. The sales guys and Cynthia were extremely nice and patient during the whole process. They even had Tim, their Service Manager come out and explain the recon process and specifically what they did on my bike. I Highly recommend Shasta Harley-Davidson! read more

I would love to give Shasta Harley Davidson 5 stars but I can't. My issue is with the sales team. When you're looking for a new bike, they are your best friends and treat you like gold. And god forbid, if you buy a Harley elsewhere but are excited about showing them what you found because you think you have this great connection, forget it. They don't give you the time of day. If I was their sales manager I wouldn't tolerate this behavior from my staff because whether they buy from you or not they still need a place to get their bike serviced and buy HD goodies. So just beware that if you decide to go in and look at their inventory they will be all smiles and charm and full of laughs and compliments as long as they think they have a sale. read more

I would not go again. They also own the dealership in Yuba City. Our son bought a bike from the one Yuba City and what joke. He never got the License plate even after calling 4 times. He finally had to go to the DMV (a day off work) to get it straightened out. My husband bought a bike at the Redding store. The price was fair. But negotiation part turned pretty sleazy when we told them we did not the "Theft Protection " plan for another $1295.00. The sales manager started in on, "Well if you don't want that then I have to raise the price of the bike." After hours of going back and forth and getting up to leave twice my husband gave in. But, this is the beginning of a bigger crap show. Just heed the warning avoid this place. This corporation owns a few others so do your homework. I went into the store today looking for some apparel and gifts. Walked in past 3 employees right away and was never greeted. Proceeded to browse through the store. The sales person at the cash register was leaned over the counter with her phone in front of her face and wouldn't even look up when I attempted to ask her a question. She never even spoke to me. I travel a lot and go to a Harley shop in every city visit and have never received such absolutely terrible customer service. Had to have a tire replaced, called the evening before and the Service Department checked for inventory. They had and when I arrived just before opening had it pulled and ready to go. Prompt efficient service had me back on the road in no time. read more

My wife and I were on our way up to WA State from SoCal. Stopped in Redding and spent the night after about 550 miles. Got up the next day at 6:00 am and saw I had a nail in the back tire of my 2015 Ultra Limited. Thought about plugging it and getting back on the road but thought I better get it replaced. I have the extended warranty and the tire/wheel warranty. Pulled into Redding HD at 9:00 am. Talked to Donaven in service. He verified my warranty, checked out the tire and replaced it under the warranty. Cost me $56 and we were back on the road by 11:30am. Can't thank Donaven enough for going the extra mile, getting us in the front of the line and back on the road. The Redding store is right off the I-5 freeway and right next to a gas station so its a perfect place to gas up, pull in and take a look around. And if you need service, I know Donaven will take care of you. read more

She brought me a coffee (with CREAMER) and offered up a cozy couch to sit at. Ernie even found an outlet for my phone. Would have chosen Zero stars if that was an option.....I have a 2019 Electra-Glide Standard and was having quite an issue with fluid transfer from the transmission to the primary case. I went to Redding Harley Davidson to talk to them about possibly bringing it in to them to look at it....i found out later that I was talking to the ownwe of the dealership.....he told me straight to my face, "take it back where you bought it from"....and walked away from me. Ok, so I have been around the world a lot of times during my 21 years in the military and always made it a point to visit the Harley dealerships of the countries I went to and have never been treated like that at ANY establishment, much less by an American company inside of the United States.....by far this is the worst Harley Davidson dealership I have ever seen in the entire world. I would add more stars if that lady in motor-clothes with the short hair wasn't so flipping rude. She follows you everywhere like you're gonna steal something and talks to you like you're stupid. I have been going to this store for over 14 years and have never had issues with anyone till now. I have watched her bully another female employee on numerous occasions. I have also seen her yell at customers like they are bothering her. She knows how to manipulate the men in the business and puts on a fake front. Other than her, I believe her name is Cynthia, the people that work there are pleasant and very professional and care about their customers. If I have to come in there and deal with her, I will go to another HD store and buy my stuff there. I don't think it's cool that other employees allow the bullying to go on period. And there have been multiple people who have seen it and it's overlooked like it didn't happen. If I happen to come in there to find something, I will go straight back to the parts counter where they are nice, professional, and are willing to help me with anything I need without hesitation. They have two great employees at that counter and it's always a pleasure to go to them for help. They care about the customer not about them looking almightier than thou or belittling them. I can't thank Redding Harley Davidson enough for their awesome help in helping me get into a new bike. The bike wasn't available but they pulled some strings and brought one in. I was no easy customer as I am also missing my left leg above the knee and can't shift but that did not stop them. They found a used and affordable electronic shifter and had it I stalled same day. 4 days and over 1200 miles later, I'm ready to go back in for my first service. I recommend Redding Harley Davidson to anyone looking to getting into ridding. My only regret is that I did not do this 20 years sooner! read more

Having an accident while still 700 miles away from home they fit me in to change out my front rotor and pads to make it road worthy for the remaining trip home. They fit me in and got her capable to get her home. Gave me great advice on how to handle it with insurance when I got home. Ernie was an amazing service writer, didn't try to over sell the situation and we were able to get her back to Orange CA. Grateful is an understatement!!!!! If you live close to this dealership, this should be your go to shop....If your from out of town they are caring about your ride to get you home Fair, reasonable, and caring.... 0 Stars. Go to Yuba City HD!!! Traveling back home to Kansas. Called this dealership to get cam chain tensioners replaced on a 2006 Thunder Mountain Harley Davidson Softail (Twin cam 103) They had all parts for the job in stock but they declined to work on the bike and help us get home. The employees names that I talked to aren't worth remembering. Must have been too big of a job for their lineup of C-Tech chrome part installers as I could hear one in the background saying "we don't work on custom bikes". Not surprised they didn't have a GM or Manager when I asked to speak to them. This place is worthless, thanks for nothing. Hunter at Yuba City HD got us off the road and on a lift. read more

I was in the middle of a 900 mile ride from Reno up to Washington on my 2000 Fat Boy. Battery starts getting flakey near Adin, CA. 100 miles from anywhere. I sent Will, the service manager a panicky e-mail that I was on my way. Next Sunday morning I jumped the bike off a car and rode it the 100 miles to Redding HD, praying all the way that the bike would not stop. It did once while I was stuck in a line of cars and it was overheating, but thankfully the battery had just enough charge to kick it over - barely. Will and gang tested the battery, confirmed it was bad, tested the charging system, confirmed that it was good. I was in and out in an hour. Not a huge thing, but you gotta give credit where it was due. They fit me in, just gave me what I needed, and sent me on my way with no more problems. They did right by me. read more

Poorly managed, dealer doesn't back the work they do. If there is a problem with your bike, don't count on the work being done correctly, they do not back their poor workmanship but still charge you nonetheless! If I could have chose 0 stars I would have! Had some new parts I bought and didn't use so I thought I could take these back to Redding Harley and I could get a store credit. Asked the owner and he said he doesn't do that anymore and to sell them online like eBay or something. Walked out and then took a part I bought 3 weeks ago and they wanted to charge 25% re stock fee. Very rude about it and you would think In such a small community you would treat Harley owners with a little more respect then that. I wasn't asking for cash. STORE CREDIT! That means you still make money. That's bad business and thank you to my friend who had an appointment today cancel for how I was treated. Similar situation as the previous review and i was actually there the day he came in and overheard his complaint. It was the day before my issue with them. Actually, that was the second circumstance I was witness to in the two days I was there at this business. Mine would make the third that I'm aware of in two days. Dropped my tri glide off for an electrical issue and they reminded me I needed a service so I left it with them. Called the next day and said it was ready but needed me to bring the so they could test drive it. I brought the seat into them and left it on the service counter and went to the parts counter and asked for a bag for the screws so they wouldn't get lost. Ernie and Jon were fielding calls but when they finished Jon informed me that everyone in service was out to lunch. I informed Jon the seat was on the counter in the service department and took the screw back, placed them with the seat and moved it over next to the cash register and left. A while later I get a call from Will the service department manager asking me if I knew that my seat hold down tab was broken. I indicated I did not, and that it was not broken when I left it with them. Will asked Ernie and he indicated that no staff had dropped the seat and they would do nothing. We argued about it and Will asked me to come in and discuss it further. After arriving at the shop I spoke with Will who showed me the area on the seat that had been broken. He then tried to tell me that maybe I had broken it taking the seat off and had hit the hold down tab against the passenger seat back rest. REALLY?? The whole area where the tab connects was shattered and indicative of being dropped from a distance such as maybe when they were picking it up to place it on the bike or picking it up off the counter or moving it out of the way of the cash register??? I asked Will in what position he had found it on the counter. His response was almost 90 degree sideways and over from where I had left it and proof that someone had obviously moved it. After much to do and even trying to meet them somewhere on their side of the middle by offering to purchase a new seat for cost plus 10 percent ERNIE in his infinite wisdom says "NO". Absolutely "THE WORST" customer service I have EVER experienced!! Not only that, but someone is lying about it on top of everything. Just a note worth mentioning is I've been a loyal customer of Redding HD since owning my two bikes. I have spent several thousand dollars supporting their business over the last few years. All this despite knowing the owners have had quite a bad reputation in the customer service end of things. It was because until now, I've never had to deal with the "decision making owner". I've had nothing but great things to say about my experiences with Will in the Service Department and Jon in the Parts Department. It really torques me that I've been treated this way by the decision maker "Ernie" and have been forced to take the actions that I will have to take in order to resolve this issue. It's really a lose, lose for everyone as I'm forced to quit doing business with their employees that I know and trust, and they lose a good customer. For what Ernie, a few bucks? How much business of mine, my friends and readers of posts such as these will you lose as a result of the bad publicity because of your poor customer service decisions?
