I was on the first day of a ride last week and biffed it on hwy 36 and lost a foot peg. I have an older Yamaha gen2 fz1, called the dealership in red bluff and no surprise they didn't have one in stock, bit recommended I try Wayne at cycle salvage. I showed up the next day and after a parts search they didn't have one that would work. So I started digging through my glovebox and found that the key for my givi racks might be something I could make work. Wayne took a look at what I was trying to do and thought maybe a hose clamp might help which he dug a couple from a bin for Mr to try. He also gave me some bailing wire, loaned me tools and duct tape to finish up with. It worked! After all that time and energy he wouldn't accept any money ( I tried to give him a $20). He was so totally helpful. It held up for the entire 1000 mile ride! Clearly he's not in this just for the money. Great guy!

Instead, they only completed one recall and wanted me to leave it several more days for the second part. I couldn't afford to be without my only transportation, so I had to take it back unfinished. Just a few days later, I removed the seat and discovered a sheared-off bolt exactly where they had worked on the recall. I've never performed my own service -- this was clearly their mistake. When I contacted them, they basically denied responsibility and said the bike "wouldn't have left the shop like that." The frustration and lack of accountability left me feeling completely let down by a dealership I expected better from. Fellow Harley riders -- beware. If you need recall service at Shasta Harley, go somewhere else. They're unreliable, unwilling to stand behind their work, and may leave you stranded or with new damage. Not worth the headache
