I have had many painful injuries in my hands and my wrists... I have not been able to get surgery for many reasons, for one, I dont even know if non perfect people could even fix my hands and wrists or whether it would be worse ... I was referred to shasta orthopedics & they would not let me even be seen or even have a consultation unless I filled out their huge very invasive extensive paperwork ..I told them I cannot write so much with all of my injuries, but they dont care ..because it is all about them ...they were rude and bossy and so unconcerned about my pain and condition and did not offer to help fill out the paperwork at all ...also I tried to contact a doctor on the weekend, and no one was available ,,the recording said press # 1 to speak to a doctor but that number never rang ..so I can see that I would not get any follow up care & their after hours doctors are non-existent plus these doctors are getting so bold and demanding, they expect us to give them a synopsis of our entire life, asking us very inappropriate invasive questions that have nothing to do with why i went to them in the first place .. I am so sick of the way the medical industry is these days ...they have traded the Highly revered Hippocratic Oath for a selfish hypocritical oath of greed and power taking care of themselves , padding their own already thick wallets & they truly do not care about us at all...then they were sending me more mail when I told them i had no interest in playing their selfish uncaring inconsiderate games ..I would not recommend this place to anyone , & the other reviews i have read are the same ,,, so Shame on you ! My referral was denied by Epic Orthopedics, then shasta Orthopedics accepted me. The staff was nice and organized up front, even with a line full of patients waiting to check in. The wait time to be brought back was decent, wasn't too long. Was going to Shasta Orthopaedics for chiropractic care for years, and my insurance paid for a certain number of these per year. however without notice, Dr Lollar started billing my visits as physical therapy which went towards my medical benefit and thus deductible and charged me hundreds of dollars. Figured this was a mistake. They don't handle their billing internally, they use a 3rd party company. So all my questions and pleas for review went to Shasta orthopedics consultant. I explained how this was not PT, just a chiropractor cracking my back, and after several letters, this agency finally agreed to review the claim. Without informing me of their determination, (no email, call, letter, etc.) or how I should try to find out anything about this determination process, they sent my bill to a collections agency. I was being responsive the whole time, trying to resolve an unjust bill, and this cutthroat operation went full nuclear without warning. Furthermore, the people you can speak with are "only a call center" so the decision makers shield themselves with this layer on unaccountability. They admitted they should have let me know but said they were too busy, because they were a call center. Jeez. This whole time I could not get my chiropractor on the phone to ask them why it was billed as physical therapy. Simple question right? But no response from them. Shasta orthopedics is like a big box store churning out as many medical bills as they can. They are not focused on customer service, and are part of the big medical/Insurance industrial complex, not focused on patients. Visit at your own risk. You might get good care, but also might get overbilled and have no way of resolving it without a lawyer and a serious ding to your credit score. Just beware of them. read more

To begin with, the scheduler is very rude. Yes, they say upfront that they are understaffed, however that is no reason to take it out on the patients. Unfortunately, you have to go through her to get a surgical appointment. If you miss her call you go to the back of the line. If you call "too often" to follow up on a referral you go to the back of the line. It's unfortunate. The office comes across as overworked and doesn't care about you or or level of care. She gives the practice and bad rep. If you want to avoid dealing with that type of insult stop of injury look elsewhere. read more

Dr Strand specialize in feet has done a wonderful job making sure that my feet are able to put 1 foot in front of the other so to speak. He has given me injections that help my arthritis and I like his personality and I will be having surgery there soon. read more

If I could give this business a zero I would! I haven't even had the opportunity to deal with the care and already it's been the worst health care I've ever dealt with. My husband's wrist was shattered in an accident last week. We were referred here from the ER. We have called this office and left messages and even tried to go in. Absolutely not one human interaction, no one has called us back and all the while my husbands wrist is shattered and trying to heal smashed on its own. and they do not even have the decency to return calls or referrals and just let these patients know they are not equipped or don't have the appointments available and to have them try and go somewhere else. They just flat out don't answer and don't call anyone back. Curious how many people with severe broken bones have went home and just let them heal how they heal because a broken bone specialist in our area that is getting referred people definitely do not care about those said patients at all. front desk staff was incompetent and RUDE. We accidently canceled the appointment on the text 2 days prior to appointment. Immediately after I called and spoke to the receptionist. Telling her I accidently cancelled. Within 3 minutes literally! She assured me that she took care of it and that our appointment was confirmed. When I showed up for the appointment they said I did not have one and I would have to wait another 6 weeks! This appointment was a follow up to an appointment where I had been given medication. This was a FOLLOW UP as an existing patient. I needed to follow up, I called and confirmed, and now I will yet again be in limbo until I find a doctor that can hire staff that can actually show some empathy, AND actually does what they say and makes sure that they actually KEEP appointments and don't lie and treat patients like idiots. If everyone has to wait 6 weeks for an appointment how could they possibly have booked the appointment that I had on confirmed 2 days prior. I liked the doctor, but his gate keepers are going to cost him his reputation. read more

I had surgery almost 6 months ago and a week and a half post op I called Shasta orthopedics to inform dr Novak that I was having excruciating pain in my calf and shin area, at my 2week post op I reminded him of the excruciating pain and he almost just brushed it off like it was normal, to this day I still have excruciating pain in my calf which is super tight, I have 3 toes that are still completely numb, and the top of my foot is very numb and very sensitive to touch in some areas. I found another dr for a second opinion and within that appointment I found out that the plate dr Novak placed in my ankle is crooked and putting pressure on nerves in my foot and the corner of the plate is protruding out, he is also going to have a nerve specialist check my foot for nerve damage including my calf. Dr Novak never once tried to figure out what the pain in my calf was or even try to figure out why my toes are still completely numb. In my last appointment with dr Novak I had to tell him I wanted to have another MRI done on my foot. The new dr I am seeing said that I will have to have another surgery asap to fix the placement of the plate in my ankle. read more

I was able to get into a cancellation as a new patient the same day. The front staff was very efficient checking me in. I think the scheduler told me 2:10 when the appt was at 2:35 because I was new and had to fill out paperwork. Check in was super quick so I ended up waiting about 40 min to get in. I waited another 15 for the PA, not too bad. There was no cell service or WiFi and the cafe was closed, so I had a while to look around. Unfortunately, there were no clean seats. The lobby area seemed very dingy and soiled. Stains everywhere made the wait a bit uncomfortable. The staff was welcoming, and the X-ray tech was warm and friendly. The PA was kind and addressed my concerns. Tried to help me out with my pain, but we were unsuccessful to no fault of his own. I'll need surgery, which I hope won't take the 3 months to get in as he said it would! I'll have to update my review for that whole process. It will be the first surgery I've ever had! read more

Doctor Farzad Sabet is superior in pain control with injections and medications prescribed by him. I suffer from cervical dystonia. The pain is excruciating. Doctor Sabet has been treating me for at least 10 years for this condition. I get relief for about two months and then repeat the procedure. If you experience this condition and live near Redding California, do yourself a favor and get a consultation with Doctor Farzad Sabet. If he can't help you, then he will tell you who can. A provider-centric practice with outdated or outsourced service lines that do little to enhance the patient experience. The providers seem fine, are not rushed and take the time to answer questions. But the answering service is Pakistani/Sri Lankan? and hard to understand and all they do is navigate a phone tree on your behalf. Getting records from their facility to another is a chore. If you owe them a partial payment, you have to run a check, yes a check, into the office. If you want the convenience of using a card, they charge you 4% for the privilege. I have gone to Shasta Orthropedics years ago for other reasons and have always been very pleased. The other day I saw a new doctor, Dr. Jenkison for issues with my hip. I was able to get an appointment right away when my regular doctor sent a referral, my appointment went very smoothly and I was treated with courtesy and respect. I had never met Dr. Jenkison before and he made me feel at ease, explained in detail what was going on with my hip, examined me, and gave me options for what he felt would help. If you are referred to Shasta Orthopedics by your physician for surgery and want to wait weeks for a call to schedule an appointment to discuss the procedure with whomever Shasta Orthopedics selects for you, then yes, go to Shasta Orthopedics. If, after waiting weeks for an appointment, you finally meet with the surgeon Shasta Orthopedics selected for you and he tells you that you need to see another surgeon at Shasta Orthopedics and again wait weeks to get a call just to schedule that appointment, then yes, go to Shasta Orthopedics. You are also billed for both visits, btw. If, after meeting with the second surgeon and deciding to proceed with surgery, you want to wait a few more weeks for the scheduler to set a surgery date, then yes, go to Shasta Orthopedics. If, after not hearing from the surgery scheduler, you want to talk to someone in India who transfers you to the scheduler's voice mail telling you they are very busy, please be patient and leave a message, then yes, go to Shasta Orthopedics. OR if you want all-around quality care, drop Shasta Orthopedics and call Epic Orthopedics. My surgery is on August 9. read more

Great doctors, their major pitfalls is their totally disorganized billing department. Your nightmare has just begun! They are billing department does not understand how to bill insurance, especially dealing with VA patients. It takes months for payments to be made if at all! The Vet then has a nightmare to deal with for their inadequate system. A novel idea would be to do their own in-house billing and not sub it out! For months on end, the vet will constantly be contacting the billing department and speaking with many individuals who are hard to understand. Wake up SHASTA orthopedics! read more

I'm updating my review of Dr. Strand. Although immediately after my surgery I was saying he was wonderful and so kind, attentive, etc. However, 10 months later, I'm in agony daily from his slipped plates that are cutting into me, and a FAIL requiring me to go back into surgery soon for my new surgeon to redo my foot reconstruction so that hopefully I can finally walk without AGONY once again. As kind and charming as he was, the surgery has caused a great deal of pain and other body parts to be affected by my favoring right side to compensate for this. When I did report a complaint to the management department they were not basically rude, and stated that they could not respond to calls if they were going to fulfill their scheduling responsibility. Avoid this place if you can!!! They are overbooked, understaffed, and out of touch. Trying to book an appointment is a major ordeal and the record keeping/billing is done by an outside agency!! They are only able to keep a years worth of your records on file on-site, and it's ridiculous. The staff is constantly rotating and poorly trained. The doctors themselves are good, but they are saddled with a patient unfriendly staff & antiquated operations, which reflects on them. I have been taking my daughter to see Dr. Jenkinsen for the last year and he has been so wonderful! He is great with kids and is always very helpful. He referred her to physical therapy and got that process going right away. Anytime she has needed something he has taken care of it right on the spot which is awesome! We never have to wait longer than 5 minutes to be taken back to be seen and I like that I can schedule several months in advance. We have always had a great experience there. read more
