This is my first delivery review. Shasta Pizza has been delivering to us for the past few years and finally decided to review. We usually have our go to pizzas but tonight we tried their daily special. We called for delivery and the gentleman that took our order explained the special and it sounded like a great change. The pie was salami, mushroom and onion. As you can see from the picture how loaded it was. Not only cooked correctly it was also tasty. The delivery was quick and the delivery was guy was friendly. The sweetie at the counter was great, I loved her enthusiasm and her constant hand washing - I didn't get her name but she was great. Delicious! Last minute need for pizza led me to them. Im so glad! Ordered custom pizza, white sauce, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, olives, extra cheese. Also garlic bread loaf. It was hot, great toppings, cooked perfectly. Only thing I added was a little more garlic to the bread and some powdered ranch. Perfection! The customer service was also top notch. I don't eat pizza that often because Shasta Pizza is too expensive but they did have the best Pizza in town. Not any more sadly. The pizza was too greasy, poorly cut and the flavor was, well not really much flavor at all. They really were a disappointment and if there was some kind of problem that they couldn't have fixed, I would consider ordering pizza again. But at these prices, $33+ dollars for a large two topping poorly tasting greasy pizza, nope not again. I have used them for a long time and never was disappointed...till now. The people who deliver have always been nice and have been prompt, but that's about all I can say. I moved to Redding last summer and over the months have tried four well-rated pizzerias that deliver to my West Redding neighborhood. The pizzas from this one have seemed to have the highest quality ingredients, along with the best crusts. In other words, quite tasty. Good enough that I would quit searching for the best pizzas in Redding except I know there are a lot of other places yet to try. The house salad, too, is better than average, with a smattering of pepperoncinis, olives, cheese, tomato and croutons, and fresh dressing. They always beat their promised delivery time, too. Shasta Pizza East, I'll never Order from them again. I was Known at Shasta Pizza West, I've known the delivery person and the two different pizza makers at Shasta Pizza West Since Day 1 of opening. I made a order last night around 6:32pm for delivery to my Churn creek address, I asked for a 12" Thick crust Lei pizza & a Hot Roast beef Sandwich and a Large 2 liter The gal that took my order said it would cost extra for the thick crust I had no problem with that, Then she tell me it it was a 1 1/2 Hour wait for delivery I was all right with that, I get 4 messages on my phone from Shasta Pizza East telling me they don't make a 12" thick crust And the person said he is cancelling my $41.07 order! And If I want to call him back and make other arrangements I can. SO I call him back and he Asks can I hold yea sure, then he says We are no longer doing delivery tonight. There's no place to put a pizza on my bike without it becoming a pile of raw dough, I have no racks to hold it, So I got on my bike and went to their Store off Victor. And I get there and the and the store is Closed! it's 7:50pm So I waited all that time just to have my order Cancelled, Because you wouldn't make a 12" thick crust. **Well I ordered from Domino's and I requested a 12" medium thick crust pizza, A Hot Habenaro Sandwich and a 2 liter drink I had my food in 1/2 a hour and it was Hot and Delicious!** And I had No problem getting my order!!!!! And it only cost me $23.82 that's $18.00 less then Shasta Pizza! I'll still deal with Shasta Pizza West But my Phone will never ring your Business again! I have been a regular Shasta Pizza customer for about five years now, and have NEVER had a complaint or problem. I think it is the best pizza in town, with Papa Murphy's being a tie or close second. The owners and employees are great, funny, nice, and treat their regulars like kings and queens. If you want an amazing pizza, these are the guys to go to. I hate to give poor reviews- and I will say the delivery guy was friendly and delightful so he gets 5 stars - but the rest of the experience was low. Another plus is the size of the sandwiches- get the 1/2 as that is a full sandwich in itself - so there's another plus. The food was for delivery which was quoted as 30-40 minutes which seemed long but ok, but instead, when we called at the hour mark, it still hadn't left the store. It took, in total, almost an hour and a half for the delivery - and we were close enough to have walked there. When the food arrived, the hot sandwich was hot (good job), but had turned mushy with the wait. The flavor was decent but overly garlicky, which is saying a lot as I like garlic. The other sandwich was low to decent and the bread stayed crunchy but wasn't a hot sandwich so didn't have time to "melt". The mozzarella sticks were- well - icky - and I love mozzarella sticks. No pizza sauce for dipping, the cheese wasn't soft, but had hardened - Over all, the food seemed like it had sat under a heat lamp instead of being delivered. No chips as a side and the drink is a 2 liter, not a cup of pop - both are pro/cons depending on what you want. I wouldn't go again, which is disappointing as we are always looking for a delivery place when driving through town. read more

I have been in Redding for 3 months and haven't had a decent pizza. Until now. The Mountain pizza was hot, fresh and delicious. The 16" fed 3 people with leftovers for breakfast. Toppings were piled high with just enough cheese. The service was fast and friendly and the guy on the phone had me laughing when I called in. Delivery took about 50 minutes. This is our favorite place food is good. Unfortunately tonight really put a bad taste in our mouth. They said 1 hour for deliver which is no biggie until we came up on 2 hours. So we called the girl who answered the phone told my husband he was wrong and they're just coming up on that one hour mark and our pizza was just coming out. Needless to say we decided to wait. I may up the rating to 5 stars after another pizza. If they are consistent, they win the extra star. They seem eager to do a good job.
