Tried this new pizza place on a friend's recommendation and was very glad I did. Great pizza. There isn't another place like this in Redding. We tried three pizzas, sausage and basil, prosciutto and arugula, and pesto, they were all good. The sausage was our favorite, I really like the prosciutto and arugula but it won't appeal to all tastes if you're looking for an American style pizza-this isn't Hawaiian or pepperoni. I love the bitter contrast of the arugula with the meat and cheese. The pesto was also good. I'd highly recommend you try this place. The owners are very nice and service was excellent. The restaurant has a nice new feel to it with some great photos on the wall.

The crust was light and fluffy and the tomato sauce is delicious. The workers even brought us marinara sauce to try with our pizza and the sauce alone was delicious. I could drink it! I definitely recommended this place if you live in Redding or just visiting.

Great Pizza! The crust is really good, we went for the first time today and will be coming back. Quality ingredients that you can taste. Honestly, wasn't a big fan. Maybe this is how the pizza actually tastes in Italy. But here in the US. I say it lacks flavor. The dough was tasteless, the menu was too small and the price was way too high for the size of the pizza. Sorry that's just my opinion. Also, the staff wasn't very friendly. Even though we let them know it was our first time there. Oh and, they don't have ranch! read more

This was delicious! They were doing a $10 margarita with purchase of another pizza, so we got that with the calabrese. They hit the perfect pizza spot. I want to try everything on the menu. Their Neapolitan dough, and then crust, is super light and delicious. Small space, so just heads up if you have a large group. read more

I've tried to go there twice and both times I've been turned back at the door because they weren't open or their pizza dough didn't rise, I will never darken their door ever again and then I realized that Cinders Pizza is the best pizza that this town has to offer so I opted to go there. I drove out of my way to come to Cinders because those guys at Donatelos can't get it together. Never again. read more

Excellent food! Excellent service. Relaxed atmosphere! Since they've only been around for a year or two, I think they are working on establishing a reputation for GREAT PIZZA before expanding.... which is smart! I'm not from Redding but I do come here often and this tasty pizza will be on my list of favorite eats! Even my grandkids LOVED it. My 13 year old, my 3 year old and my 18 year old! The BEST pizza in Redding. Finally! I've been waiting for it so long. I ordered the Margherita with mushrooms. Love the tasty wood- fired flavor crust. Hands down the best Neapolitan pizza in Redding. The crust was perfectly cooked with that ideal balance of crisp on the outside and soft, slightly doughy goodness on the inside. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming they even let us create our own pizza and gave us the option to have the prosciutto cooked with it or added afterward. We chose to have it topped after, and it was fantastic. Location was great, just down the street from the park we set up our Fifthwheel at. Now, readers - listen up: this is Neapolitan style pizza, and if you're familiar and like this style, you are in for a gift from the heavens. Their pizza rivals some of the best in SF and LA! If you're unfamiliar with this style, you're still in for an amazing experience. The sauce is perfect, and the crust is cooked to wood fire perfection. Although I haven't tried taking it to go, this style is best enjoyed right out of the oven. I'm very excited to help grow their business so that we can keep this amazing gem in Redding. Amazing people! A real family restaurant, just trying to provide the absolute best ingredients for an absolute delicious pizza. Each pizza made to order, took maybe 10 min to get two freshly made pizzas, which were indescribably delicious. They really pay homage to the Italian Neapolitan pizza, using ingredients imported from Italy, and use the highest quality ingredients. You can taste every flavor clearly and cleanly, unlike most American pizza is absolutely drowned in grease and cheese and too many flavors battling eachother. Our imported and fresh local ingredients create the famous style of pizza that originated out of the city of Naples Italy. I ordered a glass of their House White, which was a 2022 California Chardonnay and was quite good. My partner ordered an iced tea. For dinner we ordered the Ribeye and the Filet, both cooked medium. Our food arrived approximately 30 minutes after ordering. The quality of the beef here was absolutely top notch. Prime beef for sure. This was the best steak I have enjoyed in Shasta County in over 10 years. Absolutely cooked to perfection. My partner's filet was massive. This had to be at least a 20 ounce filet and he enjoyed every morsel. The sides accompanying our mains, mashed potatoes and carrots for him and mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts for me, were fair to good, but not great. The carrots were raw. As in, not only very crunchy but cold all the way through. Mashed potatoes were nice and buttery, but not nearly warm enough. These spuds sat on a plate until the beef arrived. The restaurant was very kind in offering us a complimentary slice of cheesecake since we were celebrating an anniversary. The cheesecake was dense and rich and accompanied by berry sauce and caramel sauce, both of which were lovely. Freshly piped whipped cream and mixed berries and powdered sugar on the dessert plate made for a very lovely presentation, indeed, and was most appreciated. Service the entire meal was excellent. Price for our meals: $135 + $27 gratuity for a total of $162. We have paid nearly as much for a steak dinner elsewhere in Shasta County for a meal that came nowhere close to this. Worth. Every. We stopped in yesterday for the first time and we were DELIGHTED! This Italian's opinion is that the best pizza in the world comes from Naples, Italy, and now at Donatello's in Redding. We were greeted with a warm and welcoming smile. The place is clean and relaxing, decorated tastefully with a casual vibe. The best part was the scent in the air. The beautiful wood-fire pizza oven was impressive as well, and we were amazed to hear that the owners built it themselves. We tried the spicy pepperoni and the Salsiccia and couldn't figure out which one we liked better. With each delicious bite, I had to remind myself that I was in Redding, CA, and not in Naples. The owners' passion for pizza perfection is obvious, and they have mastered their craft. We can't wait to try all of their pizzas. My only complaint: I'm ruined to eat pizza anywhere else. read more

The wife and I have been to Donatello's twice now over the past 2 weeks and are happy to report that they have earned our pizza night patronage. We've tried the Calabrese, Salsiccia, and Pistachio pies and all were fantastic. Both the service and taste of the Neapolitan style pies are excellent , the quality is heads and shoulders above the other local or chain pizza joints. Going back tonight for more! read more
