My experience with the Service Department at Shaw RV in Youngsville, NC, has been disappointing. I contacted Shaw RV for an appointment to inspect my class B Winnebago Rialta before completing the motorhome sale. I called Shaw RV on March 20, 2024, to schedule an appointment to have them check out the RV. They let me know they were busy that week, and Tuesday, March 26, 2024, would be the first available appointment they would have to do their review. I had an appointment to bring the RV to be serviced on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 8:00 am. Nobody was there until 8:15 am, when Shane arrived that only then that they would have the RV inspected no later than Friday, March 29. That was not conveyed when I set up the appointment, and I was under the understanding it would be checked out while I waited, which was my mistake for thinking it could be done while I waited. Shane took all my information again, and I told him I would return before 5 pm to leave the RV, and he would do his best to get everything done before Friday or, at the latest, by Friday. After calling on Thursday, March 28, to check the progress, I had to leave a message for someone to call me back on their voicemail. I was waiting for someone to return my call. I called again on Friday, March 30, left a message, and again, I was waiting for a return call. I called again on Monday, April 1, and spoke with Paul. He gave me a rundown of how long the diagnostics for each item would take, varying from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the issue. I asked what this would cost, but I received no answer other than that they would go over everything with me once everything was inspected. Since I had yet to hear back from anyone by 3:07 pm on Tuesday, April 2, I left another voicemail message to call me with an update. Again, no one returned my call by noon on Wednesday, April 3, so I drove to the Service Department and met a gentleman named Alan, who worked part-time there. He was unaware of the status but did find the paperwork on what was being done, although he could not update me on when all inspections would be completed or pricing; other than that, some parts needed to be ordered. Alan said he would call me by the end of the day on Wednesday, April 3, to give me an update. Since I have not received a call, I called at 4:38 pm on Wednesday since the shop closes at 5 pm in hopes of getting an update. Again, no one answered my call, and I had to leave another message for someone to call me back. I'll add updates, but I am very frustrated at this point. My potential buyer has been patient, but I must find out how long that will last. I intend to sell this RV with any known repairs that may be needed before completing the sale so I can convey the condition and perform repairs or provide credit to let the new owners complete any work. read more

Review not meant to be demeaning just facts of my expirience. I purchased my RV from Shaw a year ago so when I needed service I went back to them. They scheduled a date to bring it in, kept it two weeks, then told me my repair was covered by warranty and had been approved. Two hours after that call they called back and said due to an issue between them and Lippert they could not do the repair. Lippert warranty said they had no problem with Shaw making the repair. When I called Shaw back I spoke with a manager who told me they were going out of business so they could not make the repair. When I went to pick up my camper to carry to another service center, the rep checking me out said they were just moving to another location. Im not sure what the issue really is but I would be cautious with Shaw until they figure it out. read more

My husband and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Shaw RV's service center. We did not purchase our camper from Shaw RV, but they were more than willing to work on our camper and were also willing to take work covered under warranty. Our new camper came in with a hydraulic issue which could not be solved by the RV dealership we purchased our camper from. Jon, Penny, Paul and the rest of the team at Shaw RV did a fantastic job getting to the bottom of the problem and in fixing the issue. It took months to get our camper back, BUT Shaw had to do a lot of required testing by Lippert and Forest River. Penny and Paul worked tirelessly to get Forest River to understand that all the labor associated with the diagnostic testing needed to be covered under the warranty (which originally Forest River kept denying which meant my husband and I would have to pay for it all) and they, in the end, were successful in the fight. Talk about customer service!!! It is a relief to know that there are competent, professional, and caring staff at Shaw RV that truly seem to care about customers and their camper issues. We will definately be back for yearly maintenance inspection services and any other isssues that arise. read more

What a great experience at Shaw RV. After a 22 year sabbatical from camping we were finally ready to jump back into the RV lifestyle and we made the decision to purchase our 5th wheel from Shaw RV. We did so after checking the reviews of all the local RV dealerships and found that hands down Shaw RV was the clear front runner. We felt comfortable using Shaw based largely on the numerous positive reviews we read. Our own personal experience mirrored those reviews. While we did hit a few bumps in the road, and experienced a few minor issues, Shaw was quick to fix the issues and make it right. All of the problems we encountered were minor Manufacturer issues and Shaw went above and beyond to fix them in a timely manner. Everybody we dealt with at Shaw was nice and welcoming, they really make you feel like you are part of the family. From Ricky and Paul in sales to Clint, Skylar and Paul in maintenance and the owner Jeff, they went out of their way to make our experience a positive one. We are completely comfortable recommending Shaw RV for all of your camping needs. read more

My 5th wheel trailer had a strange A/C issue that worried me. It particularly worried me because I was thinking my description of its behavior would be disbelieved by the manufacturer. I envisioned struggling with Keystone and Dometic in determining if the machine was failing or if either of those companies would claim it was normal operation. Anyway, the Shaw team was skeptical, but they held in there and solved it. Excellent work! But, what's more impressive is that the new unit installation is way better than the original manufacturer install. The air movement throughout the trailer is robust with just that one A/C working (I have two). If this repair hadn't been done I would have always put up with the original, inferior airflow of the original install. Essentially, I'm saying Shaw did it right. Another concern I've had is with the turnaround of work that Camping World has given me. Four to six weeks for a job like this is not uncommon. Shaw knocked it out in days. Now, Shaw had to wait to witness this A/C issue, but they got the problem fixed and called me to tell me it was done. I thought the call I got was going to be that they found something wrong, but the fix would be 7 to 10 days later. Rather, the call was for me to come pick up the trailer! One last thing. As I was leaving with my trailer the individual assisting me with hook up thanked me for my trust in their business. That speaks for itself! I will be referring all my camping friends to Shaw. READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO THERE: recently purchased a car there. though we love the vehicle the customer service and attitudes were hideous. The owner is very stuck up and self absorbed. Does not like it when customers point out things that may need fixing on the car or suggestions to fix something as she becomes defensive as if the credibility of the company is being attacked...RED FLAG #1 , The owner was rude, snotty and immature. I've had more mature conversations with 13yr olds than I had with the owner. I was appalled by her need to talk to me with such disrespect and lack of knowledge of how to treat customers and that the customer service extends beyond the day of purchase and should be for a life time. Very disappointed having handed them my hard earned cash to walk away being treated like I had done something wrong...RED FLAG #2 , .this kind of behavior usually means they are guilty of treating others like crap and they know it. If you like being talked to like a child and don't care if they are rude , disrespectful and immature then this is the place for you, otherwise take your hard earned money elsewhere to a place that will cherish your business and do what they can to keep it, I know now I wish I had. read more
