Still a great go-to restaurant if you're craving Mediterranean food. The value is good: most dinners include soup and salad. I ordered the chicken kabob dinner plate, which had a generous amount of chicken , I would estimate about 4-ounces, and half my plate was covered with yellow rice. What makes the rice yellow? I always wondered that. The lentil soup is always a good option. The falafels we ordered came in 6. You can get the 12, but 6 was plenty. It came with pita bread, that I wish was more fluffy. But it was good overall. We also orders the hummus which was creamy and really good. Our waters were refilled timely, food was good, and the overall experience was great. This place was busy for a Friday night but we got the right amount of attention and service. After done eating, pay for your meal up front.

I would like to make it very clear that this is nothing against our food but more on their service. I had placed an order on Uber eats and literally not even 5 minutes into placing the order, I canceled it due to lack of time during my shift to have time to eat and to deliver the food to my daughter who works also as a nurse on the same shift. My coworker saw that I was canceling it and said hold on. I believe there's a $20 fee for canceling it. I said no I don't think so but I'll deal with it later. I need to cancel it so they don't place the order, canceled it and went along my day since we were busy. Noticed on my Bank card today that there's a A charge payment for $93 when the total amount for our food was $73. I went on Uber eats to try to see what they can do and obviously they could not help. I had never done this before and to my surprise of course the restaurant could not help and I said well if I'm being charged $73 for the food plus $20 for I have no idea what can I at least get the food and of course that's not going to happen. I just thought I throw that out there for those of you who do Uber eats and decide to do a cancellation that's less than 5 minutes. I'll be jumping off ubereats for a while- And definitely not ever ordering or ever going to this place and definitely not ever going to recommend... I just finished telling my coworkers about this... We are definitely not ever going to order from this place as a group..

Looking for yummy middle eastern cuisine? This is the place we go to for lunch or dinner We love that for the price we pay it's the greatest quality and quantity! Pictured above is only for ONE person! Honestly give this place some love because looking at is making us want seconds! The ambiance is quiet and I love it in there!

This review is based upon the chicken Shawarma wrap and excellent service I had when I called in my order this afternoon at 12:15. I went in, picked up my order and paid in cash. Save the little businesses some money and don't use a card. $8.30 later, with a side of the garlic sauce, I'm in lunch heaven.

Our waitress was extremely sweet and accommodating and the food was beyond compare. I only have a picture of the hummus because as the food was coming out we were eating it hot and fresh! Everything tasted incredible!

Great little family run place! They also have a 2nd location in the city. Staff was friendly, and service was quick. The value for what you pay is outstanding. They give you so much food! Entrees come with soup and salad, and rice. The portion sizes were super generous. Everything we ate was very tasty. They also provided 3 different sauces to use throughout your meal--tahini, a red schug, and some type of dill parsley sauce. All 3 were very flavorful, and added great depth to the meal. I can only assume that they were made in house. We started off with an order of falafel and babaganoush. The server told us that they were unfortunately out of soup, and provided us with a large plate of hummus as compensation. Really excellent customer service considering the soup is a bonus to the entree anyhow. I do not like lentil soup so it was a SUPER bonus for me. The hummus and babaganoush were super flavorful, and served with lavish bread. The falafel had good flavor, and was cooked well with a crispy outside and a warm moist inside. For my entree I ordered the kefta. The meat had good flavor, and was not dry and overcooked which I sometimes find happens at other Middle Eastern restaurants. The portion was big enough to feed me dinner, and then 2 lunches! My family ordered the combo platter, and the beef shawarma. They both enjoyed these entrees, and had leftovers as well! If you have a craving for Middle Eastern food this place is an excellent option. Good service, great portion sizes, and the food is very tasty\!

Lamb meal was very disappointing. It looked like a stew over rice. But it tasted like leather shoe stew over rice. When I mentioned the toughness of the meat, the server said it was the characteristic of lamb and the reason most customers order it. She went further to inform me if I wanted a tender meat I should order beef. This was all said with a smile on her face. The lentils were basically puréed to a point it was just watered down, tasty soup. The vegetables salad looked decent; how could you mess up lettuce. Overall I say eat at home or pick a different restaurant in the area.

Great food. We could dine in or take out, but we usually take out. I highly recommend the chicken kabobs dinner.

We ordered a combination platter #5 (chicken and falafel), a chicken wrap with fries and a drink, and hummus with pita. The food was amazingly fresh and delicious. I've since visited the Niles location several times. The food has always been consistently excellent, but unfortunately the service has never matched the quality of the kitchen. Today's visit was by far the worst. It took over 10 minutes for our server to come to the table to take our order. Throughout the meal, I had to repeatedly flag her down whenever we needed something. To make matters worse, she seemed to disappear halfway through dinner--I'm assuming she clocked out--because we had to get another server's attention just to receive basic assistance. The food, however, was fantastic. I ordered the Al Bawadi Seafood Mixed Grill, and it absolutely delivered. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. That's what makes this so frustrating. This restaurant serves some of the best Middle Eastern food in the area, but when you're paying premium prices, you expect service that matches the quality of the food. I still recommend the food without hesitation, but the consistently poor service at the Niles location is making it harder to justify returning.

Our server was so kind and never let us make the mistake of ordering the wrong thing. She gave us her recommendations every step of the way and every single one was perfect. What we got: Mint lemonade: 5/5. SO refreshing and delicious. Perfect sweetness and the little bit of pulp you get is great. I only wish there was more of it! Chicken arayes: 4.5/5. Crispy, cheesy, garlicky. Need I say more? Get some extra garlic on the side if you wanna take it up a notch. Fried halloumi: 4/5. These are like a soft mozzarella stick, so tasty. Definitely eat the pickles with them. Lamb chops: 4.5/5. 4 tender lamb chops seasoned beautifully. Definitely recommend the red rice over the yellow if you can handle a little bit of heat. Kanafeh: 5/5. Whoever thought that cheese, sweet syrup, phyllo, and pistachios would go together is a genius. Definitely don't leave without getting this dessert. The salt of the cheese perfectly balances out the sweetness. No notes! And get some peppermint tea to go with it too. And the portion sizes are huge! Definitely get your money's worth here. My only issue is this place is right by my job so now I'm gonna go broke getting food here all the time. But that's a problem I'd love to have!

I parked in the Park Ridge 90 minute lot across/down the street, which I think folks often use for Panera/Oberweis/etc. I would not recommend parking in the Chase lot. There's also 3 hour city parking near the library, and apparently at 11 N Prospect according to the sign on their door. There's an entrance on Touhy and along Prospect, and there are two different rooms (one near each entrance) so if you're confused and looking for your party like I was, take a look in the other section. Service was really friendly. Our server was attentive, very helpful with all our questions, and happy to get us what we needed. When we didn't have questions, he came back with the answer. I had the green joujeh kebab and it was really good. I've had "plain" joujeh at other places before, and having the different flavor profile was a nice change. I also ordered the dill rice as a substitute for the basmati, which was a slight uncharge. The dill rice was good as usual but next time I might just get the plain since it too would be good, I don't like lima beans (as comes with the dill rice), and I could skip the upcharge. I also ordered a drink, the Windy City, and it was really good! Their cocktail list was very nice. I was here with my book club and everyone enjoyed their meal. The portions were plentiful too; no one went hungry and several people took a portion of theirs home. In addition to the meditteranean food, they have a couple burgers and some wraps too. The soups looked so good but we were here on a rather warm day, so next time I'm trying their chicken noodle soup, made with a tomato base, or their lentil since you can't go wrong with that.
