So good! The service is quick and efficient. The owner was clearly working up a storm. While everything was good, the standouts were the chicken shish taouk, hummus, and falafel. The hummus was definitely tahini forward but is topped with a vinegar that balances it out. Falafels are never on my go to order, but he recommended them and they blew me away! So crispy on the outside, but soft and moist on the inside. And the chicken was juicy and delicious. The portions are incredibly generous as well. We had enough for a full meal later. read more

A great small hole in the wall! We wanted some halal food in the area before stopping at O'Hare and this place came up. Situated in an unassuming mall on a busy road, we had pretty low expectations--but we were blown away! The food was super flavorful, we were complimenting the citrus flavor in the Chicken Shawarma the whole time. The cashier was incredibly helpful in answering our questions, and we all received our food very quickly and all together at the same time. What a great find! read more

Growing up in the metro-Detroit & Dearborn area, aka the Middle Eastern Mecca, I can say I'm somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to the cuisine. I'm also from the Middle East so I have some street cred haha. This place hits everything with a 10 - service, quality, consistency, cost, and cleanliness. It's our new favorite weekend treat after cooking all week. Our go-to order is the mixed platter that comes with beef and chicken tikka, beef kebab, and chicken shawarma with rice and choice of soup or salad. I absolutely love their Arabic salad so I always opt for that and no rice (even though their rice is very fluffy and flavorful!) My husband loves their chicken shawarma and gets a full order. We also add the baba, hummus, and lentil soup (all comes with bread but we opt out) - best in town!! Random craving, but an egg with leftover lentil soup is really great the next day. The gentleman that has been there the last three times we visited, and I believe also owns the restaurant, is very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is a decent size with an option to dine in. The lentil soup wasn't too great, but nice place overall right by a Ukrainian grocery all in Ukranian language! Also a Khazastan place here lol. A great no-frills Middle Eastern food option right by the airport. It was very quiet in there on a Sunday at around 6pm. There were a couple people working behind the counter. We ordered the Mixed Shawarma plate and the Vegetarian Combination plate. The falafel was very good. The rest of the meal was satisfactory. I wouldn't say this is my favorite Middle Eastern spot, but it definitely is reasonably priced and gives ample portions. I wished that there was garlic sauce, but I also did not ask for it. Really disappointed in the changes. I had delivery from here today and the chicken shawarma pita is absolutely not the same. It never used to include pickles, but it does now and I do not like pickles in my shawarma. The lettuce was brown and wilted. The chicken did not taste as fresh and juicy as it used to. Grab a seat, and someone comes and gives you menu and takes your order. Overall the place is medium size and I would estimate it seats about 15 to 20 people. I ordered the Chicken Shish Taouk, which is a chicken kabob plate, with yellow rice. Chicken was decent. Rice was Fluffy, and pretty good. My dish also came with a appetizer salad, which was OK. It wasn't that great, because the salad dressing that came with it reminded me of a watery type of thousand Island, which sorry, I really don't know what it was but that's the best way I could describe it. I was looking for a falafel, and they served that. I went in and ordered my falafel sandwich, fries and drink. Chiming in at about $15, it was somewhat meager from what I've had in many places across the country. The sandwich was small, and the fries were standard (drink was canned). The meal was good, but it lacked a few things (garlic sauce, pickled vegetables, enhanced flavors, etc.). The sandwich was good, but it wasn't in my top tier of spots. If I lived in the area and had nowhere else to go, then I would probably visit here... although very infrequently. Being that there are probably other choices in Chiraq, I would probably explore those first before settling on BAS. It was good, but not come back good. read more

Came here for lunch break during a weekday. They have huge parking lot right in front and this restaurant is location in the corner of the plaza. We ordered our food and then sat down wherever we wanted. The utensils were located along the side of the wall so it is sort of like chipotle where you self serve. Ordered the chicken and beef shawarma with bread. It was a pretty decent size and definitely freshly made. Both the chicken and beef shawarma were juicy, delicious and filled with flavors. Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and staff (victor) is super friendly and the food is delicious. I love that you get a lot of food as well for the price. This place is very good, especially for their shish kebab sandwich! Very juicy meat and the seasoning is always perfect. I've also tried the chicken shawarma sandwich from here and although its normally my favorite pita from anywhere else, I like this place's shish kebab sandwich better than their chicken shawarma. I think the thing that turns me off to the chicken shawarma is the lettuce... having a very hot pita with cold lettuce is weird to me and some places dont put fill on lettuce, they put cabbage. I also wish there was more spice to the food, but I should ask if they have s'khug cuz I love that stuff! The portions here are big and very filling and the workers are all very nice here. Hello delicious authentic juicy kebabs! The kefta kebab is very tender and juicy. The chicken shawarma is a little dry. I'd recommend the chicken kebab over the chicken shawarma. The beef shish kebab is also very good. My personal favorite is the kefta though so I highly recommend ordering that over any of the other kebabs. This is not a fancy sit-down place, but rather a very casual quick lunch spot. This place satisfies your Mediterranean food cravings perfectly and leaves you wanting more.
