Finally had a chance to try Shemroon, which caught my eye very quickly upon moving to the northwest side. To start, let's talk parking since I had a hard time finding info about this. I parked in the Park Ridge 90 minute lot across/down the street, which I think folks often use for Panera/Oberweis/etc. I would not recommend parking in the Chase lot. There's also 3 hour city parking near the library, and apparently at 11 N Prospect according to the sign on their door. There's an entrance on Touhy and along Prospect, and there are two different rooms (one near each entrance) so if you're confused and looking for your party like I was, take a look in the other section. Service was really friendly. Our server was attentive, very helpful with all our questions, and happy to get us what we needed. When we didn't have questions, he came back with the answer. I had the green joujeh kebab and it was really good. I've had "plain" joujeh at other places before, and having the different flavor profile was a nice change. I also ordered the dill rice as a substitute for the basmati, which was a slight uncharge. The dill rice was good as usual but next time I might just get the plain since it too would be good, I don't like lima beans (as comes with the dill rice), and I could skip the upcharge. I also ordered a drink, the Windy City, and it was really good! Their cocktail list was very nice. I was here with my book club and everyone enjoyed their meal. The portions were plentiful too; no one went hungry and several people took a portion of theirs home. In addition to the meditteranean food, they have a couple burgers and some wraps too. The soups looked so good but we were here on a rather warm day, so next time I'm trying their chicken noodle soup, made with a tomato base, or their lentil since you can't go wrong with that.

We had some time before our flight from Chicago to SF. A friend picked us up at the airport for a quick lunch. She wasn't familiar with the area and made us choose. I yelped the closest places near the airport. Somehow this place popped up and they decided. Great. Another Mediterranean food. My least favorite. We arrived in 15 min. Place looked nice. Scrolled over the menu and chose cheeseburger and fries. My companions chose kabobs and wraps. It was actually Iranian food. My husband loved the kabobs and I took a bite. I was pleasantly surprised. Not bad at all! So juicy and tender. Too bad it's in Chicago. I enjoyed my burger and fries. If we find our way back to Chicago again, I'll definitely return here.

My go to for aash e reshtay in the Chicago area and for a quick bite when in the area. Highly recommend for Iranian food and aash if you are in the ORD area. Plenty of seating and prompt service. Amazing staff.

Stopped in for a pick-up order. Neatly tucked in downtown Park Ridge, Shemroom stands out for its Persian cuisine and modern settings. I stopped in for a to-go order and was greeted and assisted. Their menus are electronic and the server helped me with my questions. While I was waiting, the staff came to fill my glass with water, also offering me tea or coffee. Everyone was very friendly. I knew exactly what I wanted and ordered the Barg Kabob (filet mignon) with Dill Rice and a side of Persian Salad. The dill rice was an extra cost, but I opted for this. Overall, my cost was over $40. My entree was $29, salad was around $7, and dill rice was $2 extra. I walked out paying, with tip, around $45. The cost smacked me in the face a bit. While it was a bit of a pricy meal, it was absolutely delicious. Everything was placed beautifully, even in my to-go container. The flavor and cook was to my liking. The meal was enjoyable. I love Persian food, but this is best left as a special occasion restaurant, due to its prices.

Great Persian place with kebabs and hard to find traditional dishes like Abgosht. The dill rice with broad beans is excellent as is the lamb shanks

Overall a good experience, we dined in on Sunday evening to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. We were a party of 7 without a reservation, so we appreciated them getting a table set up for us. We got seated right away. Our server placed orders for our drinks and entrees. My in laws and I ordered 3 glasses of red wine. After waiting a couple of minutes or so, my mother in law asked if it's possible to get the whole bottle instead of just the glass. The server said no because the bartender already pour the wine and threw out the wine bottle. That moment was a bit off putting. The food came out all at the same time and it always has generous portions. The grilled chicken kebab was tasty, but a little on the oily side, but plenty of rice.

Wanted to try something new with a friend and she recommended this place. The food is amazing, but service seemed confused a lot of the time. They initially placed us in the middle of the dining area but tables were moved to accommodate other parties so our table was uncomfortably close to a couple tables and chairs. Then they weren't able to navigate through so they ended up quickly cleaning up a table and moving us to that table. Then it took forever for our order to be taken. The food looked and tasted amazing. Definitely get the lamb kabab. We had maybe three different male servers come to the table to do the job one server should've been able to do and for the most part I see them all just behind the bar chatting so I'm not sure how they operate. In the end, they didn't bring a sparkling water we ordered but charged us for it. They told my friend they'd refund her for the water and she should get the charge back in a few days but I'm not sure if she got it. They could've just offered to give her the sparkling water ? But they didn't do that.. anyways. Food is good. Service was weird.

For our inaugural visit here, we ordered a big carryout lunch for a party of 7. We found their servings to be both top-top delicious and generous as well. The carryout boxes are amongst the biggest we have ever received, maybe by +30% or so! They've already been here for 2.5 years and time flies as this highly rated restaurant never made it onto our radar until recently. We ordered: - lamb and chicken koobideh combo with 1/2 white rice and 1/2 dill rice, $19.95 - joojeh (chicken breast) koobideh with fries, $16.95 - salmon kabab with white Basmati rice, $29.95 - lamb koobideh, green joojeh, lubia polo, $29.90 - 2 kids' chicken koobideh with onion rings, $14.95 x 2 - sides of falafel ($10.95) and hummus x 2 ($9.95 x 2) The prices may look a little on the pricey side initially, until you see the serving size, and then it's all quite reasonable. Shemroon Kabab House is Iranian heritage and owned but the staff is mostly Turkish I was told and for what's that worth. Baran was the friendly and welcoming young man who greeted me at the reception desk. It was still earlyish when I arrived on Sunday late morning and there were no other customers. Their space is large, airy, contemporary, comfortable, and welcoming. There is even a small stage set up for a drum set for whatever reason. They are also located prominently at the prime 3 way intersection of Uptown Park Ridge - Touhy Ave, Northwest Hwy, and Prospect Ave. They have enticing lunch specials also for $14.95 and we plan to return to try those sometime. Big thumbs up and a warm welcome for this ethnic restaurant to Park Ridge.

came in for the lunch special. we both tried the beef koobideh, one with rice and one with fries so we could half both of them. the serving was huge that we both took home leftovers. it was overall good, but nothing too memorable. the lunch special is a really good deal and had all the essentials. i think it could've been spilt for two people if not big eaters! the restaurant has a really big space and a modern dining feel. they had a standard level of service.

Overall, a nice cozy Middle Eastern restaurant with a good selection of menu items. Opted for the combination koobideh dish, the fritata appetizer, and the eggplant appetizer. The meat was pretty good, but the rice was a bit plain. I recommend upgrading to saffron rice or one of their other options. The eggplant dip was okay - a bit bland and the bread was nothing special. The Kuku Sabzi fritada was light and had a nice earthy spice flavor.

This is one of the fanciest kabab restaurants I've been to. The restaurant is decorated with a huge chandelier and wine wall. You order on an iPad and there's an extensive menu. I ordered the beef and lamb kabob plate, which was served with rice and various veggies. Also ordered the falafel for appetizer. I will note that the service was a bit slow and the food took a longer than expected. The falafels were quite dense and grainy in texture, and the tzatziki sauce wasn't great. However, the koobideh lamb and beef kebabs were absolutely delicious - flavorful, tender, and juicy. The portions are generous! One of the best lamb kebabs I've ever had. Highly recommend!!
