Shawarma has been around for years. It had been awhile since I'd eaten from here but I was in the mood for some Mediterranean. I ordered small side orders of kibbe,baba ghanouj and falafel. As I sat and waited (it was made fresh) I noticed they had non alcoholic drinks from Turkey. They looked interesting and thought I should definitely try one next time( I'm not really into sodas). In the past I've had their chicken and beef sharwarma,the kafta, their chicken plates with salad with a damn vinaigrette dressing I found real tasty. I find that I like coming here because the food isn't greasy and it's more of a healthy establishment. When I received my order I couldn't wait to dig in. The aroma of the spices tingled my taste buds.The kibbe came with two and the falafel were three pieces which was more then enough. They both had the perfect crunch with a steamy inside. It was really tasty. The baba ghanouj was good but I took out the olives just because it made it saltier then I would like, but I do like olives. Popped those suckers in my mouth after i was done. I couldn't finish it all but it was the perfect portion. And I really enjoyed warming it up the next morning and finishing off. If your in the mood for decent Mediterranean food definitely come in and give this place a try. read more

Yummy food! I got the beef shawarma platter and everything was great. I only wish that they include some sauces because the meat, rice, and pita gets dry by themselves. But maybe you just have to ask for sauces and I didn't think to do that while there. Overall really liked it and feels healthy. Well it took me a while to write this review but here I go. I was introduced to this place by my boyfriend. We like Mediterranean food and every now and then I get that itch... ;) Please don't underestimate this place by its looks trust me the food is absolutely amazing. We have ordered quite a few items but I have to admit I am so in love with their Grape Leaves, in other places they serve them cold but here they serve them hot and they're so citrusy ;) ... Just perfect. The hummus is definitely home made and always fresh. The chicken is always cooked to perfection, I really don't know how they do it but it comes out so juicy and tender! No frills Lebanese food heaven WoW !!! Arriving at this strip mall locale you soon realize the authenticity with the music and the iconic vertical rotisserie and a fridge stocked of typical Arabic drinks. Then you walk up to order and to the left see the most amazing looking Baklava and Maaamool you've ever seen. Already you're sold on the authenticity so you order!! Ordering is at the counter then they call your number that's written on your receipt. On our recent visit we ordered the stuffed grape leaves (Warak) and Kibbeh to start. We each had a beef/chicken shawarma platter that comes with Lebanese rice (Rizz Bi Sh'arieh). And lastly a delicious Baklava that was quite possibly the best one I've ever had. Many middle eastern places have come and gone but this place has been serving authentic Lebanese food for a while now. I really enjoy the food at Shawarma. I've been eating here (dine in or take out) for a few years now. I am a fan of most of their menu.However, there are some things I do not like about the service or the food which I have explained below. They've served me the Meat & Hummus a few too many times where the meat has been reheated so much that it tastes like egg- like pure protein. Very off-putting. So I now order it without the meat. Just the hummus which is very tasty. Whether you order for take out or dine it, the wait time is usually 15-25 minutes. The kitchen is open so you can see everything they do. I have noticed on a few occasions that the staff are chewing things while working. This past week, all 5 of them were eating while preparing food for customers. One guy had an empanada(?) in one hand that he was eating in front of me while using his other hand to plate an order. WHOA, not ok. Not ever ok. BIG NO-NO. That's aside here is what I think of their food; I've tried several of their items over the years. Here is a quick breakdown of hits/misses. * Mix-meat wrap. ($7) Well priced. Sometimes good, sometimes not good. Depends on the meat and the pickles. Sometimes those are "off" The portion size changes too. But the price is right. * Lahma Ajim ($3) - Cracker with spiced meat. I didn't enjoy it. * Mujaddara ($4) - the 4 onions that came on top were burnt and inedible though I tried :( I've even tried their * Kibbe Naye (raw meat!) $10 Not bad but I can't do that again! Haha * Angel Hair Rice with Almonds - It's alright. * Grape Leaves (4/$4) - THE BEST! Very citrusy. * Hummus (Small $5, Large $7) - Yummy! Well seasoned. * Fried Kibbeh (2/$5) GREAT! Perfectly fried every time. * Baked Kibbeh Platter ($13) - Tastes bake-fried lol. Not exactly healthy but delicious. * Shawarma Burger ($9) It's inexpensive for the size of it! Very filling. I liked this place so much the first time I visited that I went for three consecutive days, each day taking one of my friends with me. I was like -you have to try the food at this place, lets go-. After that, i wemt once a week for another two weeks, although the place's location is not convenient for me. The baklava and all of their desserts are so delicate, i wish i knew their names so i could tell you. I almost always ask for their mix platter and an prder of the falafel and it has never failed me. On the other hand, my boyfriend ordered the meat with their tasty rice and it was not as great as my dish. The meat was a bit dry and hard for his taste, but I also take into account that his palate is not used to that kind of food/meat in terms of flavor, texture,etc. Ohhh and one more thing, i have bought their dessert 'sampler' box a couple of times to take to friends and family and everyone has always been very "berry" pleased with the little treats. Always a win! Hey, i keep coming back. Hence, i believe they are doing things right. I only don't give them a 5 for I believe the food is not cheap considering the establishment etc. I do not think the food is overpriced but taking into account the fact that this joint is sort of a small fast food place(not where you stay to just relax and chat) with disposable plates,utensils and for two i normally spend an average of about 35(never forget othe tip guys) i give them a 4 instead of a 5. Hole in the wall place with a counter where you order and a few tables to eat in. Food is really good. The veggie dolmas are very tasty; almost as good as my homemade ones. The baba ganouj was just right. The chicken shawarma wrap is tasty and very filling. The prices are great. The service is quick. I would like a tzatziki for dunking my dolmas in. The platters are around $11-$12, they have a good selection for the platters. The place needs a bit upkeep, not only from inside but the outside as well. So I walk in the door and there's a man reading the newspaper and no one else. I thought he was maybe a customer but I soon find out he's waiting for someone from the staff, so basically I'm the only customer. A young lady takes my order and very friendly while I may say so. I order the Chicken Shawarma Wrap and an order of their Mediterranean Fries ( I was particularly interested in their feta cheese and parsley toppings). A little on the pricey side but for anything that's healthy (the wrap people! don't judge me on the fries), I'll pay for it. The wrap was mediocre. Now, it may just be me. I'm giving this cuisine a shot because it is healthy and whose food items have many nutrients- within moderation. I believe it was the sauce that did it for me. No bueno. the fries were fries but the feta cheese and parsley toppings were so yummy! I loved those fries! If i were to come i would just probably eat the fries. Tucked away between a Dunkin Donuts and La Carreta is this little piece of Mediterranean heaven.I have been driving by this place for years and saying "I have to check out this place" but for some reason or another I never do. Finally, the other day i decided to go for lunch. The place is not much. Lime green walls adorned with some cool Middle Eastern/Mediterranean themed posters. And since I'm not much into fancy decor, I liked it. For lunch I had the Chicken Shawarma wrap and some hummus and pita bread. The hummus was very good although I don't know if is made in house or not. The pita bread was good but a bit in the chewy side. The wrap was excellent. A bit different to what I have had in other shawarma restaurants but very well made. The chicken was really good and everything else, including the wrap itself, was really tasty. We had more than 3 years with out eating Venezuelan Arab food, and I will said, this place is more than great. The Beef Shawarma was terrific. The filled stuffed grape leaves, or whatever it is call, had been the best we have tried so far, even though we used to go to an amazing Arab place in Washington, DC. These are My Favorites: *Grape Leaves - my absolute favorite! *Fried Kibbeh *Hummus *Hummus with meat on top *Mixed Meat Wrap combo (comes w/fries & a soda) *Burger -its huge! *Steak kabob -delish but pricey for its size. *Pita chips (in a bag on the counter) Look a little burnt but thats normal. Grab a bag to take home. *Any little pastry is delish but I looove the walnut one. I've also tried the following and although they make em good here I've just never been a fan of these particular dishes; *Tabouleh *Baba Ganoush (eggplant puree) Unfortunately I recently tried something here that I did not like...it was the _____ he rice with onions on top. The pita bread was very thin, dry, tasteless and went straight into the trashcan. The pictures on their website are quite close to the actual thing. It was a quick $18 lunch for two, but I haven't been back. Complaint of the day: all the foam! The numerous foam plates and cups we used made the environment cry. My best friend and I started off with the vegetarian combo; let me tell you I wasn't into tabouleh until I tried Shawarma's, it was so fresh. I love love love this place. The food is so good and I'm a sucker for Mediterranean food. The flavors are great and they have vegetarian option which I love. Falafels are so crispy and tasty. The food is fresh. It is self service. You order at the counter and pick it up once it's ready. The place is small and has only a couple of tables. It's been a while since Ive been but I don't think they have outdoor rating. The place is located in a complex and the complex has free parking. The first time I ever went, I had been starving for over 18 hours and I couldn't get enough of the food here. I thought I was probably so hungry that anything could have felt tasty at that point but I've been back a few times after and I still love it. If you see my review below, you'll notice Ive always loved this place, but lately I've been disappointed. The last two times I've eaten here, the food tastes as though it's been sitting there for a while and reheated. The chicken this time was super dry, basically the opposite of juicy and the pita was hard. Even the delicious homemade brownies I always love so much were not fresh. If I pay $21 for a one-person meal, I expect it to be delicious and fresh. I'm so disappointed bc this place is a favorite! :-( --- I love Shawarma! From the kebabs to the almond rice, to the hummus & pita...everything is delicious! I pick up food from here for dinner at least 2-3 times a month. It's healthy and all made in-house. OK...so you walk in and the place is.."ehhh" the tables and chairs are "ehhh" so you say to yourself..."well, Im here let me try something" at least that is what happened to me. So I did, I tried the shawarma platter, I grabbed my food, went to a table and started to eat... Lets just say that after my first meal, not a week that goes by that I dont pass by and order my platter. I love the meat! the rice is yum yum, the salad is Fresh and its just great! HELLO People!! this isnt a 5 star restaurant that you take your girlfriend to propose to, this is a place that if you are hungry and want great food, and are not too worry about the decor or ambiance fo the place, then this is it! Food is awesome! its family owned business (which now days its something I like to support) and the quality of food it exceeds its prices. Is it cheap? No, and it shouldnt because good quality food shouldnt be cheap. This isnt a fast Burger King in the Arab world...this is good fast food!
