I was introduced to Glee Dental by my mom last year when she had to receive some services. Let's just say, many of our family members are now patients there including myself. The staff is so kind, welcoming, professional, and are very transparent regarding any of the health information you should know about your oral care! Dr. O is the BEST in the game!! She educates you on what is going on and what she can/will do to help resolve many issues you may have. When receiving services, she and her Dental Hygienist/Assistants just make you feel comfortable while in the chair! May I add, she is the BEST at giving any sort of medication in the form of a shot; truly I barely feel a thing! I feel like that's important to note because I know a lot of people are afraid of needles. They encourage and educate you on what you can do at home to prevent any further damages or concerns to your oral health. I always feel like dentist are out to get you for your money BUT Dr. O do not! They truly just want to guide you to having the best oral care! I was going to give it three stars…read morebecause it was an average dental cleaning but what made me take down one star is that the dental office charges every patient a fee even if you have insurance (more on that later). I called other dentists in Atlanta and there are some with high ratings and new technology that do not charge an office fee. Before going to the dental cleaning I received several messages through email, text and call asking me to confirm my appointment. I confirmed my appt via a click of a button through an email and also again through text message. I would have appreciated only being "pinged" once to confirm. Then I received a call the day before asking me to provide my dental information by noon, which I had already emailed them the day before. When I got to the office, I was seen promptly. I mentioned to one of the staff that I had my records sent over a couple of days ago. They said they couldn't find them and asked why I would need to have my records sent. I just thought it was part of the process and that the dentist would be interested in my history and prior x-rays. They told me the dentist will be doing new x-rays so not to worry about the records not being found in their inbox. The x-ray process took about 10 minutes. That's when I started noticing that some of the technology/atmosphere is a little more outdated than I am used to. Just things like the chairs, and the overall ambience, but nothing was technically wrong with it. Also worth noting that my previous dentist usually takes my blood pressure before the cleaning and provides mouthwash. There wasn't any of that here. When the x-rays were done I wasn't communicated with about what the next steps would be. I was sitting there for about five minutes and didn't really know what to expect or what/who was coming next. I was also unsure of who my hygienist would be. Also the chair was not in a comfortable position for my back, but there was no staff around to tell so I kind of propped myself up while I was waiting for the next person to come presumably. After a few minutes, the dentist came over and said that she would be doing my cleaning. The cleaning was really a no-frills cleaning. My previous dentist (in a different state) had really new technology like noninvasive tools that can sense where cavities might be forming and they also have a screen on the ceiling above the chair. The cleaning here was a bit messy. I had water dripping all the way behind my neck and when I left I had spots of toothpaste on my face. I also didn't really feel like it was rinsed enough and I felt leftover toothpaste granules. Minor note, but I wasn't given an option of what toothpaste I wanted either. When the cleaning was over I went to the front and this is probably the biggest reason why I had to give it two stars instead of three. There is a $10 charge and it wasn't explained what that charge is for. This charge is for every single patient apparently. This is definitely not OK in my book given that insurance should pay for the entire cleaning. I understand that perhaps they needed to charge for Covid protocols (just a guess). The lack of explanation about the charge at the end did not feel good as a patient. I asked them if this was a co-pay because there should not be a co-pay. They simply said that it's an office charge. I should have really probed that more but I just paid and let it go and decided I won't be back. The staff were friendly so that was positive. But I definitely think that I am looking for a higher quality dental experience. My last dentist would spend time with patients for an hour, but here I was in and out pretty quickly. Also this is minor, but this office does not give out free toothbrushes or floss, or at least I didn't get anything and it wasn't offered to me. I think better communication, a more thorough exam, interest in my dental history, and of course not having any extra charge at the end would have really made it a better experience. I wouldn't say this is a bad dental clinic by any means but I just think it is more for patients who aren't looking to establish a dental "home" but those seeking an infrequent cleaning/procedure.

I really wanted to overlook those issues and continue bringing my family here, but when there are problems almost every time we visit, it becomes too stressful. If you're a new patient, my advice is to verify that the office has confirmed they are in-network with your insurance BEFORE your appointment--even if your insurance company lists them as in-network. The office says they verify insurance the day before your visit and will contact you if they don't accept it. Naturally, you assume everything is fine if you never hear from them and no one mentions anything at check-in. However, in our experience, they sometimes verify your insurance while you're already there, only to tell you at checkout that they don't accept your insurance and that you're responsible for the full balance. In all fairness for this instance, the balance was finally written off after I complained about it. The same applies if you're having anything beyond a routine cleaning. Make sure they've verified whether the procedure is covered by your insurance BEFORE treatment begins. I repeatedly expressed my concerns and was always reassured that things would improve, but issues continued to happen. The office considers it a courtesy if they don't collect payment at checkout and offer various payment options to make your payment. I don't see that as accommodating when the situation could have been avoided with proper insurance verification beforehand. In one instance when my husband was given the "courtesy" to not pay at checkout, the moment he left his appointment, I received a text with photos of his invoice, the balance due, and a payment link. I was also told that because the insurance policy is in my name, I am responsible for his bill and I will be sent to collections if the bill is not paid, which I found frustrating. I understand mistakes happen, and I know times are difficult for many families. That's exactly why clear communication and accurate insurance verification are so important. Unfortunately, I was told I am the only one having these issues with the office, even though they kept occurring. It's disappointing because Dr. Mitchell is a great dentist. Sadly, the ongoing problems with the front office and billing have outweighed the quality of the dental care for my family. I'll be relieved once this final bill is paid and we can move on.

My teeth are in perfect health so this did not seem necessary. He also told me I had 9 cavities. I also received a bill in the mail from Dr. Mazzuchelli stating that I owe $100 since he is not an in network dentist on my insurance. I would not recommend this establishment or dentist.
