I also bought a frozen meal that was already expired... I was able to return these two items and the customer service was good, but I couldn't believe how high my bill was for only getting 5-6 things.

This is convenient for people of Bristol to have an option besides Stop & Shop and without having to travel to Fall River/Swansea/Target to a big box or other grocery store. Their parking lot is easy to access with lots of space. This store is very clean and feels high end - I would consider this more of a luxury market, almost as if you had a combo of Whole Foods and Highland Park Market (a small local chain in Connecticut). There were a nice amount of unique local offerings I hadn't even heard of before - salt water taffy, chocolates, bulk frozen soups from Blount, etc. There are fresh options like a sushi bar and a small coffee area in the front. The big selling point of this store are those unique offerings, and the best bang for your buck are things they make fresh, breads, desserts, etc. I LOVE their fresh popped flavored popcorn and always have to grab some - just do it!!! Other than those standout features, I can't see myself shopping here regularly if not for those specific items, unless I really didn't want to travel far. It's a smaller store with less selection. Pricing is well above other similar stores - the mark up on a pantry item I picked up was double the price of the exact same thing at Target. Even their "sale" prices don't seem that good of a deal in most cases. They advertise a senior discount on Wednesdays. Self check out and cashiers are set up, but only self check out was open at 8 pm. There's a nice upscale feel here, although staff wasn't helpful in the evening hours when I went, which you would expect more of from this type of experience based store. For basics and pantry staples, you'll find a better deal elsewhere....but honestly, it's still worth a trip just for the popcorn.

Aldi's is a discount grocery store. Not a lot of 'visual fluff'. It's organized and the aisles are…read moresigned. The cashiers are FAST. They do not provide bags. At all. If you want a bag, you bring one, or you buy a reusable one. Groceries are placed by the cashier into a cart, you pay and go off to the back counter where you will pack your own bags, or just wheel out to your car and transfer them directly. Bring a quarter to 'unlock' your cart. You get the quarter back when you return your cart. Fresh produce is right inside the door and is usually good quality. They offer organic produce from time to time. I always look through the entire area. Things get moved around in this section. They now have premade pizza here too. The Aldi brand is sometimes a national brand, re-packaged. Same food, different package. So give the Aldi brand a try and see if you like it. They carry all the foods: snacks, canned veg and fruit, baking ingredients, spices (selection varies), salad dressings, ice cream, meats, etc. The dairy section includes a variety of milk including alternatives, a selection of eggs, yogurt, lots of cheeses. Meats include bacon, turkey bacon, chicken sausage, all beef hot dogs, cold cuts. Their coffee and tea selection is small, but good and they carry sparkling waters and hydration products like Gatorade. Frozen foods include pre-made meals, burgers, vegetables and desserts. There is no 'bakery' or 'deli' here. But the items you would get there may be available here as a pre-packaged item. Check all around because sometime items are put where there is space, not where you expect them to be located. For example, I once found organic cream near the cold cuts instead of in the dairy section. A 'specials' aisle near the middle of the store changes frequently and includes anything from toys to household storage, candles to cookware, etc. Once it's gone, it's gone, so check each time you visit. I always walk the whole store because some days they have a national brand I buy that they don't often carry. You just never know. The parking area can get a bit much. The space is shared with Good Will next door and is often full. There are only two Stop signs at a four way intersection near the exit/entrance and drivers often cruise through there like they are on a private drive. Keep your eyes open for these daredevils and stop at the intersection just in case one is nearby. Only one cashier is usually manned. There is a second checkout lane that sometimes is opened for particularly busy moments. It depends on staff availability. If there is a delivery happening for example, there will be no second cashier. There are four self-check out kiosks with no limit on the number of items you can scan. These kiosks only take credit cards. Lines move fairly quickly. Like any grocery store, be a smart shopper. Items like meat may be a dollar cheaper per pound here. Fresh berries may be half as much. You may also find items cheaper at other locations; Job Lot for example. Shop around, find out what is the best price for your pantry items and make it part of your shopping routine.

So I've been here a handful of times to this…read morelocation and I usually get lucky and someone will just give me their carriage when I forget my quarter, but this time I went in and asked if I could borrow a quarter which online it said you can do, and the cashier was so nice and I promised I would give the quarter back, which indeed I did and they seemed shocked. But any-who, this location is always very nicely stocked and I seem to find an employee on the floor whenever I need one whenever I have a question, which excites me. My sister is the one who put me on to Aldi, the prices are amazing and am able to stretch the money I have and get quality items, which makes me happy in this economy right now. They do charge for bags but I bring my own, so that's never an issue. I just hate having to bag my stuff since I do a full shop here but that's okay. The food items are of good quality, and they taste great. Honestly every since I started coming here I don't go to the other markets. This location does get packed really easily, but they open lines very quickly. As soon as they see lines starting to grow, they open registers and the employee scan very rapidly, it seems like a race and I am shocked at how quickly they scan and get you In and out. The atmosphere here is not bad, can get a hit chaotic but for the most part everyone is nice and courteous. Give this Aldi's a go it's a nice size as well and the produce always seems fresh!

Have you ever had a breakup and wished someone would just make an entire pint of cookie dough ice cream appear before you so you could eat your feelings? That is precisely what Eastside Mart is for. Through Yelp and Grubhub, you can order ice cream, as well as snacks, household supplies (need an emergency TP roll or six? They got you) and beverages. No alcohol, though... this isn't Massachusetts, folks. This corner store is located over by Elmgrove Street, just a few blocks from Blackstone Boulevard, so I guess if you really wanted to, you could grab a bottle of water and go for a run, but that's clearly not what the rest of us are doing. It's packed with delicious-looking items, from fancy oils to spices and meats, cheeses, condiments, produce, and so much more. The owner was there along with some staff, and everyone was so open and friendly. It was so easy to strike up a conversation and get feedback about various items in the store. I was so pleased with my first visit while waiting for my friend for dinner, that I told her about the shop while we were having dinner. We stopped in again, this time together, afterwards. She also loved the shop and made some purchases. I will definitely be back! The owner was great and even said she can special order certain items in the future if I'm looking for anything specific they don't carry. I'd happily give her my business rather than trying to source special ingredients on Amazon :)
