ABYSMAL !! Customer service in Western Union located inside of Shaws. I would rate this place a 0, if that was an option. The staff were very rude and disrespectful. I went to cancel a western Union transaction . The woman told me that she could not do it, the transaction. She lied to me. I called western union customer service they told me once you do the cancelation the money will be available immediately. I have a family of 8 between the household. We go to this Shaws as it is the most convenient and never have much issues you'd see normally at any other market. However, this will be our last time in this store as of this week. I had a question for something new I was looking for and asked an associate ROGER. It was like asking fo a kidney with this guy because he acted as if he couldn't be bothered and as I was walking away I heard him attempt to mutter under his breath "f*cking people. I was sure addressing that comment with him would go nowhere so I figured I'd takenit up on here. I will take my business elsewhere until this associate is removed. We entertain weekly and spend close to $800 per week and I'm sure any other local market would love to have my families business. I expect an apology from the upper management and departure date of this associate before I return for the business back. The worst supermarket shopping experience imaginable. Workers and managers are not trained either to do their jobs or to provide customer empathy/satisfaction. I avoid this Shaw's when I can. Every so often, my resolve weakens and I give them another try. Each time, I promise that I'll never try again. A manager who was talking by phone with me about a billing problem for an online order called me "honey." I told her that was inappropriate. She then told me that she couldn't do anything about my billing issue (for an order that I'd placed for HER store) and directed me to a call center -- that, literally, is located thousands of miles away from the store. Not good. All she had to do was talk through the issue with me. She should have been able to tell me that the apparent double-billing was actually a routine (and very easily understood) issue (and resulted from my adding a few items to an existing order; the first amount of money from the original order was only noted by PayPal--it was not actually deducted from my bank account). She clearly didn't know this. Why didn't she? She's a manager. I'm just the customer. You don't send a local customer to an overseas call center to have them explain a reasonable, routine quirk of the billing system. I'm furious about the extra time this took and the rude, inappropriate, unprofessional way in which I was--and am ALWAYS!--treated by Shaw's workers at this location. Do NOT shop there, if you have a choice, would be my advice. Thank you for allowing me to vent. Avoid at all cost on weekends. The self checkout line gets out of hand and an employee will yell at the whole line if she thinks one person is over 15 items. Then if you question why she did that she will yell at you for "not minding your business". This has been going on forever. Weekdays seem much better read more

So, I shop in Randolph frequently, and I go to the deli at least once or twice a week. There is a female worker named Cindy whom ignored me it seems Everytime I come. When he works I waited at least 5-10 min. Not I will be right with you or maybe drop what your doing and wait on valued customers. I went to the deli the other day and waited and waited and Cindy finally waited on me but had wiped her nose with the same gloves she waited on me with. As another employee came to the counter I had explained what happened and she waited on me. Cindy had said something to the girl that waited on me and gave a sarcastic look. Okay! Let's give some serious love to Shaw's! They've been working very hard on cleaning up the place! The inside is absolutely gorgeous. The produce is finally up to par. I've gone back to shopping here and do not find any outdated items anymore. The shelves are always stocked well and neatly. I'd give it 5 stars..However, every time I'm there someone is asking me for money at the exit OR my car gets smashed somehow. Even if you park in the last parking spot..some ignorant person seems to smash your car with a cart, door or just back into it.. Take a taxi..this place has really cleaned up their act! While renovations have occurred, I found very similar instances to others experiences here. Dozens of expired items (leading up from 2017) on the shelves and extensively long checkout lines. Prices seem to not always ring up correctly at the register causing even more time waiting at checkout. Not a great experience by any means, especially in comparison to other chain stores that provide technology to make shopping more efficient, like Stop&Shop that has both self checkout and scanner guns... there was self checkout here at one point, but it was removed years ago. Store does look nicer and cleaner since the recent renovation but nothing that is above the rest. Reason for a three star rating instead of two is for the store manager, Lee, who goes above and beyond in customer service. Very thorough, kind, and friendly and I really appreciate his attention to detail and taking action on customer concerns. Overall, it's an okay place to shop and now the most decent in Randolph (I used to frequent the area and Sudbury Farms was always my favorite place to shop), but if you can go elsewhere, I wouldn't do my weekly grocery shopping at this store. read more

if it was possible I wouldn't give them a star at all. this review is coming from a previous employee who used to work there. The service is absolutely terrible, the higher ups treat there workers unprofessionally as they themselves work unprofessionall. I notice the children who work at the registers on there phones all the time as they take customers, they wear earphones in their ears as they speak to customers. getting to management themselves, they are highly unprofessional individual, they never stay where they are needed, beacause they all always leave in a group together to go smoke outside the store, right by where customers walk. what's worse about this is when you call them up to the front, they never show up until either about 15 minutes late or they don't show up at all, essentially saying that they don't care about their jobs, their employees, and the customers they so claim they have as their standing point. I brought two KitKats and it said that when you buy two you get two free, but they didn't give us the two free ones. Would not recommend, the staff is careless and seem not to care. I am very upset with this. My kids were crying in the car wanting a refund, but by then it was too late. This store has careless cashiers that don't care about their customers. Came into the store December 3 early in the morning to grab a few items upon heading to the deli I encountered the manager and the deli worker ( heavy set guy with glasses ) arguing the heavyset man was screaming about how the manager did not care about Covid and only cared about making money for the store I continued to head to the deli where he was working and he immediately started to vent to his coworkers about Shaws as a company not caring about Covid I then had to wait for several minutes for him to finish venting for him to acknowledge me and take my order I felt he was extremely unprofessional and it's even more concerning to hear that a place I regularly shop at doesn't care or take Covid precautions read more

As much as I really want to shop Local, this Shaw's continues to disappoint!! In the past 2 weeks I have purchased 3 gallons of milk, all had 7 + days to expire date.. but all 3 were sour.. of course you don't find this out until Next more at breakfast. This place needs a major overhaul. The managers all seem nice, accomodating and professional, but the rest of the staff is unbelievably bad. One of the cashiers routinely complains about his life to you and curses, another is also a curser. Some seem totally baffled by why you are standing there, dont turn on the belt, forget to scan your card, etc.... The food selection is terrible, only the MOST basic and/or MOST processed items. About two years ago they had some great eco friendly products and then they moved them all to clearance ( I stocked up, but was never able to buy cleaning products there again) The people that staff the deli are gross and obviously don't want to help you in any way, they move as slowly as possible without falling over. I once had a produce guy yell at me because I slipped on a wet floor and asked him if he could put up one of those yellow signs. This Shaws gets kind of crowded. It is not as cluttered as it was last year but it still has some kinks. The clerks can be a bit testy if it is busy so get what you need and try not to ask too many questions. I was over charged a few times so make sure to double check your receipts! read more

Where to start with this one???? Well for a supermarket I guess it has just about everything you could be looking for!! However the staff doesn't really assist you unless you seek someone out!! This store started to remodel over a year ago by moving everything around and expanding certain parts of the store to be updated and to look like the other shaws like The Braintree store..... the bathrooms are usually dirty from the pigs that go in there... then there is the "SCUM" that hang outside asking for "CHANGE" as you exit the store as they are playing in their Smart Phones and wearing name brand sneakers!! On one trip the flyer advertised that they had a 58 ounce package of meatballs for a good price in the deli area but when I put it on the scale in the produce area it was 8 ounces too light. All of the packs were half a pound too light. I brought it up to the deli counter but he refused to do anything to rectify the problem. On another trip, the cashier forgot to put my phone number into the register so none of my digital coupons nor discounts were taken so it cost me $25.17 more. When I complained the cashier said she didn't want to ring in my groceries again so I had to pay for it. The service desk was closed so I had to drive back over the next day. The service desk employee said that she couldn't fix it and that I would have to call the number on the bottom of the receipt. So when I got home I called that number. That woman said that she couldn't fix it and that only the service desk could fix it. I told her that the service desk said that they couldn't fix it and she insisted that was the only way. I am handicapped and on food stamps so this is a lot of money for me, also it is very difficult for me to get to the supermarket as I require assistance due to my handicap, which has to be arranged. Compliments and kudos to the Management and Staff at Shaw's. I've shopped at Shaw's for the past 5 years (since Roche Brothers left). Most often it is a pleasant experience. This is possibly the most disgusting Shaw's I have ever been inside. There have been frequent occasions where this store has had expired and spoiled items on the shelves. The produce has also had very frequent insects and spoilage on the shelves. I moved to Randolph 3 1/2 years ago. At the time, this was a really good supermarket, particularly the meat department. I can't believe how far downhill the place has gone in such a short period of time. Management just has no clue. I stopped going hear August 2012 because the new Market Basket in Brockton had lobsters on sale for $3.99. So I figured I would do the full week's shopping when I was there. Even with getting 8 lobsters, the total bill was less than what I'm used to paying at Shaw's. Shaw's charges premium prices for everything, dry goods, produce, and meats. They do such little business, there is little turnover of the products, which means you are NOT getting fresh, quality products for the premium prices you pay. Last night, I was in a pinch to get my shopping done and I didn't want to drive down to Brockton in rush hour traffic. That turned out to be a big mistake. Half the time I spent in Shaw's I was trying to find something edible in the meat department. They had such a small selection, I had to stop for take out on the way home. SERIOUSLY!!!!! There is a guy that works there who is either the Manager or Assistant Manager. He is always at the registers and never walks around the store. There is never anyone on the floor to ask for assistance. When there is, the person is usually not helpful. But this manager guy, he always has his head down. It's like, he knows the store sucks, and he can't seem to do anything about it. Maybe corporate won't let him. Yeah, that's probably it. Honestly, on a Monday/Tuesday night, Market Basket has more cashiers working that all of Shaw's store. I think the Town of Randolph really has to step up and solicit a reputable, local, grocery store chain to open a store in the town. It would be a huge assest for the community. read more

Went into this disgusting place because it's the only grocery store that's close by my house , I went to pick up mayo and see a bunch of mayo that went sour like it sat out in the sun or someplace really hot...I was like a oily substance at the top and chunks of the white going through it ! I proceed to tell the guy who I watched stock more just like that and he actually looked me dead in the face and said "this isn't sour you just have to shake it" WHAT?!? then I see mildew fruit just out on display like there's nothing wrong with it! Best Supermarket in the area! I usually shop at the S&S but not anymore!! The people who work here are so so nice! I am used to the grumpy rude folks at the stopie. Anthony in produce helped me alot and got some boxes for me which I needed for storage. And this store is so clean and so pretty I hear they just had an update! with lots of choices and the prices are not more expensive at all with lots of coupons to use as well. And you can go online and register for gas points that's important too. And I love the Fresh Cut fruits and Vegetables, as well as an expanded Organic section. As a Senior I need someone to cut up my fruit and veggies lol and I need organic food for my esophageal and heart problems. But the best of all is the asst. store director JOHN! He helped me when I was in an emergency situation and went above and beyond his duties to make sure I was safe. He is a man above men. He deserves some kind of an award (are you listening corporate?) This grocery store is by far the best one I have ever shopped in and even though I may move away someday, I will still come here to do my shopping...how's that for loyalty? See you there!! never ever, i repeat never shop here. this used to be my supermarket until i experienced all types of sanitary violations. i decided to try them again today and true to their form, yet another sanitary violation. i bought some lobsters today and i get to the checkout and i come to find out that the guy that retrieved my lobsters cut himself and got blood all over the inside of my bag. when i told the manager, he tried to downplay what happened and was very condescending in the process. when i asked for the corporate number, he tried to give me the number to the store. once on the line with corporate, "mike" wasn't much help. this appears to be no big deal, from the top to the bottom. this store can eat a bag of dicks. i'll never shop at this dump again!!!! read more

I've been over to Shaws' almost everyday after school. I prefer Shaws over Sudbury's because the prices there are much cheaper. It is much closer to my home, too. The store is well kept and is very clean. Unlike others who have reviewed here, I have never had a problem with overdue products. The staff is quite nice and helpful. The fried chicken and meal there is really cheap and is more accessible that KFC. I've been shopping here ever since I was a young child and it's been 10 years. I have never had a problem. read more

I live across the street from Shaws in Randolph, Mass. And as a man with no vehicle, Shaws is my ONLY option. Once, about a year ago, my wife and I journeyed down too Wal-mart in Avon, Mass. I was ASTONISHED by the price difference. Our cart was over filled and we still hadn't cracked $200. The $$$ we saved in the cereal isle alone, was worth the trip. Definately watch your receipts for mistakes. I was overcharged by $5 on 1 item. Long line at service desk to correct. Had to call over the evening manager who readily agreed that I was overcharged. I inquired if I would get the item for free. Brandon did not have a clue and I had to cue him to ask the manager who was standing 2 feet away. Her reply. "No Way. Don't go!! Twice in two weeks I have left without all my groceries finally today I went back because I was missing 5 items went to service desk and was told to go shop for my items!!! Then the girl behind the desk told her coworker that I forgot the items told her no i didn't they weren't given to me. I don't feel as if I had to go shopping again they should have offered to go et items as I had my receipt and checked off what I was missing. I have been going to Shaws for years. I have gotten to know all the people (well most). I love going there all the prices have dropped and it it so nice to see all the familar faces. The people in the deli Bob, Chris are great always asked if it is sliced right and do I want to try it. I buy all my haddock there the best around, even got my best recipie there when they had the stand in the front. I then go to the bakery to see the girls..who I might add are very friendly and polite. They have the best muffins and I get ALL my cakes there would not dream of going anywhere else. I have no idea why anyone would come on here and have anything bad to say about Shaws...THE BEST supermarket around...who could stand that filthy MARKET basket with all the crazies and the disgusting deli and poor quality of meat and stale bakery...I will stick with Shaws...KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! read more

Plenty of time to write this while I stand in the long line at one of the two open registers (one of them is 10 items or less). The consistently expired and moldy food is grossly overpriced, and the apathetic underpaid skeleton crew has been scaled back to the point that the few underpaid positions the salary-bloated executive team hasn't cut from the frontline are overworked and unmotivated and don't want to be there. It smacks of another corporate cash cow that puts profits and the CEO's salary above the workers and the people forced to shop there. The best word to describe this store, the service, the produce and the mood of the shoppers and staff is LOUSY. I think pretty much anyone that is not politically connected in the town would love to see Shaw's replaced or run out of town by a Market Basket. And right when you think it can't suck any more, off goes the loud phone ringer over the PA system again that goes unanswered.
