This is my first time shopping at Market Basket. They have plenty of option for prepared food. Their sushi is freshly made and sandwiches are delicious. Their bakery also has many different options. They were really pretty and really well priced. My husband likes to have real flowers in the house, they bring so much cheer to a room as well as color. Sandra, who works at the deli, is extremely rude and clearly hates her job. She never smiles, acts miserable, and doesn't listen to customers. She'll even hold up a slice of meat to ask if the thickness looks good, and after you say yes, she changes the setting and cuts it thick anyway. It makes no sense. Her attitude is terrible, and she obviously doesn't care about doing her job right. She shouldn't be working with customers. Today Market Kitchen only had one person working the sandwich section and the line was backed up like crazy... This poor employee was working nonstop and also getting an enormous amount of call-in orders. She was so frustrated and I honestly don't blame her. Market Basket needs more people to work that section, especially when they see it's crazy busy. Then I slipped on some wet puddle in the middle of the floor near Market Café. Straight busted my a$$!!! The employee their was aggravated because she said she reported that spill hours ago and still no one came to clean it up. She wanted me to stay and fill out an incident form but I was in a rush. They are lucky I am in my 30's and pretty healthy... Had it have been someone elderly, they would have been looking at a lovely lawsuit. The store was so packed it felt like bumper cars. To make the whole experience even worst, nothing was priced correctly in the entire store. I KID YOU NOT, the majority of the store was not priced! Soooooooo aggravating. I am handicapped and the cart guys always bring a scooter right to my car. Sometimes they recognize my car and bring me one without being asked. I love going to the cafe for lunch. The selection is huge; you can get anything from sushi to cannoli! Prior to the pandemic they had a microwave in the cafe, and I hope they will move it back soon so that I may have hot lunch choices again. The prices on submarine sandwiches are very low and far better than other supermarkets. The shopping is fabulous! Prices are far lower than other supermarkets. Furthermore, they rarely run out of an item that is on sale. In other supermarkets, that happens all the time. Love Market Basket! read more

I tried to be open minded as I went into this store. This location is stressful. Customers are rude, blocking aisles so others cannot pass through or they try to run you over when they are shopping. Grocery shopping should not be stressful caused by others ignorance but it is. The lady in back of me in the checkout line did not believe in personal space. When I come tell the customer service the girl called to ask someone to check the price , the guy who checked price lied to her and told the wrong price. Review on deli counter:The wait at the deli counter is absurd. If the new store manager respected his customers he would double the amount of deli clerks. Close to a 45 minute wait. Update for 2022: now the Deli clerks will deny you fresh cut deli if it is available in the pre-cut bin. Stopped in to get something for my lunch. What a fantastic store! Big, clean (it should be since it just opened), and well stocked. I perused the enormous prepared foods (variety of counters) determining what I'd like to get for lunch before settling on the sushi bar. I got a combination order of spicy tuna and salmon roll, which was delicious and very fresh. Deciding that I'd get a yogurt to go with my lunch, I was happy to see they had every single flavor of Chobani in stock...even my regular grocery store which is great doesn't have every flavor of Chobani. So that was pretty sweet. Prices were awesome. There were lots of registers open (no self serve though which kind of bummed me out, but oh well). read more

3.5 stars. I like this Market Basket but beware: go during the week because the weekends are frightening! Long lines at checkout and forget about the deli! I've waited up to 20 minutes to be served. I do love the rotisserie chicken. Also, parking lot is huge. It's the closest one to me right now so I have to say that's why I choose it so much. Prices are great just like all Market Baskets. The worst deli staff ever. they're super slow and when you ask them to slice your meat thin they show you a super thin slice and then when you get home you got slabs of meat. because they turn it back up as soon as they start slicing cuz they're so lazy they don't want to have to move that arm too much. On several occasions I have been in the express line where customers with too many products for the express line are rung up. Before they are rung up, in the presence of other customers, I ask the cashier if this is an express line even though I know it is. They don't answer and have an "I don't care" attitude. I let managers know about this. It is somewhat obvious when a manager says he/she will take care of it, that they won't especially because it is an ongoing issue. Also, I have expressed to managers how employees at customer service are not customer friendly. Either they are quiet or do not want to be working. I said hi, how are you twice to the employee and both times she responded "how can I help you" in an unpleasant voice. These employees belong in a different position in the store. Even though I told the managers, this also does not change. Today when I told the somewhat new store manager about these two issues, I would like to be wrong, but it was apparent to me by his behavior and looks, that he probably wouldn't be pro-active, had more important things to tend to. read more

I really don't like this store. The shoppers are unbelievably rude. When I shop I am courteous and paitent with other shoppers. The shoppers in this store just run all over you. Don't move aside to let you pass. Stand in the middle of the aisles. Don't say excuse Me when they are trying to get by or get near a item where you are standing. Angry looks on their faces as if they are spoiling for a fight or argument. God forbid if you speak to them. Your either ignored, given a dirty look, and/or curt reply. It's ridiculous. I just wanted to get the hell out of there. Extremely unfriendly atmosphere!! One thing I also noticed is the prices are getting higher. They are not the same as they were when they first opened up. Just got back from this store, and won't be going back again soon. This was my favorite store. Every aisle has at least one choke point designed in, and the customers have to either wait or cut someone off to continue. Total nightmare today. After being cut off, not once, but twice within seconds in an aisle between the freezer cases, I decided to get out. Grabbed some frozen meals. Never made it to produce. read more

Just can't say enough about this place. I've been shopping here for years either at the store in Burlington or Raynham, both are about 30 minutes from my house in Canton. The Brockton store is only 10 minutes away, so convenient. The selection of produce is just beautiful. An order of magnitude cheaper than Stop & Shop or (ick) Shaws, and much, much fresher, and higher quality to boot. Their buying power is just massive due to their low prices that the turnaround is just incredible, nothing stays on the shelf for long. My girlfriend and I can get by for $50/week on groceries, and we're not just living on cereal. Chicken, beef, seafood, pork, fresh greens and fruit. We basically only shop around the outside of the store. The staff is so efficient, they know they're going to be busy, but the registers are always open so you're never waiting for long. If the store starts to slow down towards the end of the night they'll pull people off registers and get them on restocking. Every now and again I'll go to the Stop & Shop/Shaws down the street because I need 1 item and it's 2 minutes from my house and I just laugh at the prices. $6.99 for store brand bacon? Are you serious? Market Basket always has name brand stuff on sale for $2.99/lb. New shell lobster has been $3.99/lb all summer. Swordfish is $8.99 this week, wild haddock is pretty consistently on sale for $3.99, $1 for greek yogurt, $1.99/lb regular price for boneless skinless chicken breasts. Is it bad that I have these prices memorized? Maybe I'm a little bargain-obsessed. Just don't let the prices fool you. I'd put their quality on par with Whole Foods or Roche Bros honestly. If you're shopping at Shaws or Stop & Shop though, you're doing it wrong! read more

Thank you for opening this Grocery store!!!! It is so fantastic that I can save approximately 30% on groceries at your store. The new store is clean and well organized. The staff is helpful. I repeat: The staff is HELPFUL! I was shocked that while I was in the meat department, a teenager actually asked me if I needed any help finding anything!!!! The cashier said hello to me!!!! WOW! I seriously felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. The selection of brands is so vast! I couldn't believe they don't require you to swipe any annoying bacteria magnets!! The produce quality is comparable to whole foods!!! And, at great prices!! And they have a huge selection of organics and vegetarian tofu stuff. Again....Twilight Zone. CONS: It is expectedly packed...every day and night. I seriously will never touch this place on a weekend. Also, the deli is absent of some of the regular brands like Boar's Head and Dietz....but who cares. That processed crap is bad for us anyway. VIVA Market Basket!!! I absolutely despise having to go to this Market Basket. That being said, I LOVE Market Basket as a whole and shop the chain often. The Bridgewater store is my preferred location, but oftentimes coming from the north, I have to settle with Brockton, as it's on the way home and closer. Obviously, my gripe is not with the product or pricing, as its all the same at my favored Bridgewater. Both stores get very very busy and lots of traffic on weekends and around holidays. However, I believe that the Brockton staff are less equipped to deal with the heavy crowds and how they've interacted with me (or ignored, for that matter) my last few visits is cause for my low rating. I was in the "Under 20 Items" lane one of these times and had all my things to purchase on the conveyor belt. As the cashier turned away from her previous customer to do what I thought was say "hello" to me as I did to her, instead I got a scowl and her exclaiming, "this is 20 items only." I didn't understand, as she wasn't clear speaking, and then she pointed to the lamp above our heads. I said, "oh, there's too many here?" and counted everything on the belt to 22, then looked up and said, "oh there's 2 more, is that ok?" She stood there staring at me blankly, then rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath as she began begrudgingly ringing my things through. The other experiences weren't in the same type of situation or context, but encapsulated other rude unhelpful employees nonetheless. Only go here when I HAVE to. read more

The Market Basket in Brockton is all about great value. It offers all the same things you're going to find at Stop & Shop or Shaws at a significant discount. Usually if I find something at S&S and it is 2 for $6 then at Market Basket it's 2 for $5. Whatever it is, it's going to be cheaper at Market Basket for the same product. The Brockton location offers Market Kitchen which has a lot of options, such as pizza, subs, salads and sushi. We've had sushi from here often and it's always fresh and good quality. They have about two or three people working the sushi counter and can make requests right away. The bakery is also very good and offers several types of cakes, pre-made or for order. The produce is high quality and generally in good condition. The prices are much cheaper than anywhere else. There's a large selection of pre-cut fruits and vegetables as well. All in all this is a great Market Basket location and a welcome addition to the South Shore. read more

The opening of this store has changed my life. Not only are their prices at LEAST 20% lower than the Shaw's and Stop & Shop down the street, but their selection is bigger and their quality is better! The produce is always beautiful and spotless, as is the meat and seafood, and there is always so much of everything available that you never feel like you have to settle on the not-so-perfect pepper or steak. At Market Basket, there is an abundance of EVERYTHING. Including people. The one downside is that because this place is so amazing, it's always packed. But that is no reason to stay away, my friends! It is well worth it! Even with how busy it gets, you never wait in line behind more than one person. The staff is efficient, friendly and helpful. When it's really busy, they will tell you what line to go in to get the quickest service... and unlike when I try to make that guess for myself, they are always right! I drank the Kool-Aid and finally decided to give Market Basket a try after making sure I had a refilled Xanax prescription to deal with the parking lots and lines. So, be forewarned, the store is ALWAYS busy and parking is ALWAYS tight. If you think you're going to score a parking spot right in the front, let me know how that works because you have a better chance at winning Powerball than scoring a front spot at the MB in Brockton. However, there is a lot of parking available. So, bring your walking shoes. Based on where I live in relation to MB, I can't really buy a lot of frozen food, so I had the luxury of avoiding those aisles. Whatever. It's bad for you anyway. But, if you mind your business and take your time, you can easily get everything that you need. Employees are always stocking shelves so if you're looking for something you can't find or something you need, just ask and they will be happy to help you. Bottom line, the prices are what keeps me coming back here. I can easily save 20-30% off what it would cost me at Stop & Shop and I hope that MB considers another South Shore location. Give it a try. Always come shopping for the week on Sunday afternoons and encounter a super long line (which is the only downside). I've had significant success for about two months now buying healthy ingredients which vary from organic veggies to different grains, plant-based foods, and unique spices/seasonings, of which there is a huge range! I've even been able to buy more "exotic" items like tahini for hommus, thai tea, and even frozen avocados (which are just as good!). Being able to eat super healthy - calorically and nutrient-wise - for super cheap is such a blessing! And if you're planning on satisfying a sweet tooth, the bakery offers super delicious finds such as tiramisu in a cup and chocolate PB cupcake! The sushi is not too shabby either ;). This review is solely based on my experience with the Bakery. Today is my daughter's 4th birthday and our original plans didn't work out so I found myself trying to track down a cake for her celebration on short notice. I went to Market Basket around 8 am today (Sunday) and found a wide variety of cakes that were ready to go. Not like your typical plain cakes with flowers on them that most grocery stores offer. I had the pleasure of working with a lady named Kim while at the bakery and she hooked up the cake I had chosen by adding some Disney princesses to the cake which made my daughters cake complete. The cake was cooked to perfection, chocolate was good and the frosting was sugar based and sweet. read more

I always stop by around lunchtime to grab one of their hot subs from the prepared food section. The sandwiches are very good considering the price. Especially either the meatloaf or sausage sandwiches. On Monday though I took a chance and got one of their beef burritos. I went to the Market Basket at the Westgate Mall and realized I left my wallet home. I had enough in my pocket to buy a Muffin. I told the clerk what had happened. One of your Associates Jay was behind me and offered to buy me a coffee. I told him that was a real nice gesture on his part, but I said I had to get my wallet at home.
