The Bakery department came through! I called 2 days prior to request a strawberry shortcake that could feed 15-20 people. The gentleman (can't remember his name) said they never made one that size but could do it. When I picked up the cake it was loaded with strawberries and absolutely delicious! It's interesting to me that so many people ding the place for having carpets and sure, it's kind of weird...but the upside - I don't have to listen to the carts clanging on the tile...since I seem to be THAT person that ALWAYS gets the cart with an effed up wheel. Setting aside the dated decor, this store has, by far, the cheapest meat in the area. I got about 1.5 lbs of chicken breast for under $5.00 and they were really decent cuts. The other night, I found steak tips, just shy of a pound, under $5.00. Again, nice cuts of meat. In terms of the butcher section, the prices won't be beaten in the Abington area. The prices on other things seem pretty on par, if not slightly cheaper, than larger chains. You don't have as much selection as it's a smaller grocery store, but you can find everything you truly need. They are always running sales on soft drinks, so for those summer BBQs, that will come in handy. Bakery section is awesome. The muffins are freshly baked each morning and are way better than the ones you can get at Dunks. They also have pre-made goodies that you can heat up for dinner - think chicken pot pie, Shepherd's Pie, etc., that are also super low prices. Bread...also super cheap compared to other chains. There is a small beer and wine section as well for one stop BBQ shopping. ;-) The folks who work there seem to have worked there forever. Everyone I've encountered has been very friendly. Sometimes, it takes a bit of time for a price check which is slightly annoying considering that the store isn't that big, but it's not a deal-breaker for me. I have learned that if there isn't a sticker on it, I'm well served to take a quick pic of the price with my phone...just in case. It usually only happens on produce. Also, if you have a need for flowers for special occasions, they run a deal on a half dozen roses for $3.99. Yeah. $3.99!!!! And they look great! If you are looking to buy a lot of stuff and in bulk, a larger chain is likely better...but if you are like me and shopping for two...Trucchi's can't be beat. read more

I have to agree with Raquel. This place is racist. The staff wouldn't stop staring. Then at checkout, I was asked if I wanted paper or plastic. I said paper and was given plastic. If i didn't have my 2 year old with me, I would have flipped my ish. Trucci's...It's 2018. Keep up with time. I'll drive the extra few miles to avoid this awful place. read more

Small local grocery store that does not carry many of my day to day items (like Kraft Milk Bars, Dole fruit bites, tofu sheritaki, etc). Its fine if you are just running in for milk and bread but I am not able to do my grocery shopping there. Also I have had a small issue with the fruit. You go to buy bananas and they are all green and hard- you wont be able to eat them for days and they will all be ripe at once- ugh. The aisles are small and the seniors are abundant. read more

Cute little family-ran market. Small(er) selection compared to the big box stores, but good local products and fresh pre-packaged meals! If closer, would be my regular grocery store over Walmart, Shaws, or Stop and Shop. May be worth the drive anyway! read more

You have to know what you are going into before stopping here. I live really close (about 2 minutes away) and I love having somewhere to stop for last minute items. The lines are never ever long, and I am always in and out quickly. Understand that if you go during the week, it will be flooded with elderly customers and will be much, much harder to get in and out. I went in for a few quick items and it took me a long time to get around because the customers seem to have no concern for time or leaving their carts in the middle of an aisle and wandering off. This of course has no bearing on my review, since it's not Trucchi's fault. Just be prepared if you have to go in during a work week day because it will take you a lot longer to get in and out than you anticipate. They surprisingly have a big selection of Protein Powders and bars in the front. They have a really great bakery and the deli and pre-made food is really expansive and they have a ton of grab and go lunch items that we love i.e. subs, calzones, meals and desserts. The carpet is a huge reason for my 4 stars. It has to go. It is unsanitary in a grocery store and just creeps me out. Also, while the cashiers are really friendly, the "home town" grocery store can sometimes lend itself to the cashiers spending a long time chatting to regulars when you are just trying to buy your few items and get in and out. While I do really appreciate the personal touches, sometimes I've been stuck in line and they'll chat with the person in front of me well after they're done checking out just catching up. read more

Great store. Take customer and employee health seriously. They have installed hand sanitizers at their entrance plexi glass shields at the checkouts and you can do a variety of cashless one touch payments. Like the friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Easy to get around in store. Like the senior shopping hours. Like their ready to heat up holiday meals you can order on line and pick up in their deli section. Nice to support a small family owned and run store chain who gives back to the communities they serve and employs workers of all age groups. read more

Great prices but crappy customer service .. one cashier not even serving me closed her lane to interfere with me talking to my cashier about a wrong price that rang up.. she took my item went checked price.. mind u left her customer which said hello are u open?? Janet the cashier proceeded to tell her load the belt and I'll serve u when I return .. anyway she came back said I was wrong and I told my cashier I'll pay then check again and go to customer service desk. I went parked my cart at customer service walked down the isle took the tags right off the shelf that clearly stated the sale price I knew I saw and read. I return to desk to find that cashier right there telling me ... GET THIS This tags were not there when I checked ... Excuse me u looked at the wrong item on wrong shelf ... anyway I proceeded to explain to the desk look it matches my items and appears an old sale which isn't my fault .. it's on the shelf I get that price .. well miss cashier that needs customer service training turned around and said they were not in that shelf ... listen lady what did I do ??? Have my ass print them and tag the shelf myself ?? Pull the video and see for yourself YOUR WRONG .. they refunded my money charged me the sale price and then forgot my refund on bottle deposits.. so with that said I'll be shopping somewhere else and hope someone with the market can teach Janet to never act the way she did 101 customer service class needed ASAP Rant of truth over !!!! read more

I wish employees here were a lot friendlier and welcoming. I usually take the drive to stop and shop but today I decided to go to Trucchi's. The customer service there was unpleasant and unwelcoming. It's like they pick and choose who to be polite to. Since I've lived in Abington and live not even five minutes away from this place I avoid going here because of their racism demeanor. I understand employees are tired or what not but they shouldn't treat their paying customers with ignorance. There's a very creepy ( African American) guy from the meat department working here. Today I stopped by trucchis to grab couple of things and stopped at the meat department near sea food, he was done stocking whatever and was already walking back inside the department but when he saw me, he stayed around pretending he was organizing the meat cooler and looking at meat like I was a piece of filé mignon. He made me so uncomfortable that i didn't even buy my meat. This is not the first or second time this team member creeps me around. Another reason I am giving one star is because I am tired of finding expired products in dairy. Please explain to your team members how FIFO works! The only reason I shop here is because Trucchis is the closest supermarket around my home. read more

This is my go to grocery store when I need to run and grab something quick. It has all the essentials and doesn't feel like you have run a marathon when you are done. They have a great bakery and their prices are very reasonable. read more

Just so I'm not breaking any Yelp rules, I'll come out and say I worked here when I was 20 years old, for a few months as a stock boy. That was before they renovated it to the condition it is in now, and since I am not in contact with anyone who works there, this is a fair review. Trucchi's is a small family owned chain, I think they have 5 stores. The Abington location is small, but they have just about everything you need at a supermarket. The produce is fresh, but the section is small. Don't expect to find many exotic fruits and veggies, they stick to the in seasonal and typical produce. The bakery is like every other super market bakery now. Not a whole lot of items that are baked fresh, I'm sure it is mostly frozen and then baked, but the muffins are good. The meat department is what sets Trucchi's apart. The quality of the meat is excellent and they have great packages for single people. They have two packs of burgers, instead of the normal 4-8 packs. They also have small portions of the other ground meat. That comes in handy for single young people or the elderly. The deli serves up Dietz and Watson products, which I don't like as much as Boars Head, but it's not bad. The grocery, frozen and dairy all have a better than average selection considering how small the store is. They also sell beer and whine. It's a good place to pick up a 6 pack of Bud Light, but I wouldn't touch the wine unless you're into boxed wine. The service is always friendly, it ranges from high school kids up to semi-retired folks just working a few hours a week. Trucchi's prices are right on par with all the other markets, and it's much smaller than Stop and Shop so you can get in and out quicker. Watch for their Wacky Wednesday and Frugal Friday sales they have once a month too. read more

Their steak tips and filet's are top notch and being a small store they are very customer service oriented. No big box feel here, they hire the local kids and the staff does go out of their way to please you. Doesn't carry everything a super store carries but I can do shopping here without a problem. Be forewarned stay away on Wacky Wednesday and Frugal Friday tons of senior stocking up on eggs, bottled water, whatever is on sale that week. Not worth saving a couple of bucks to deal with a store crowded with canes and walkers. read more

I wouldn't give this company any stars do to the fact that they don't care about their employees. The majority of employees are over the age of fifty and in a high risk category. The company is doing nothing to protect them. The employees hours are getting cut with no recourse to make up the difference. The employees are see what all the big corporate food chins are doing to protect their employees and this family owned chain is doing nothing. All I have to say is shame on the owners that are sitting home well protected by this virus and their employees that are really dedicated are in the trenches. Trucchi's is super convenient for me, about 2 minutes away. I find their prices to be competitive. Their bakery and butcher are great always fresh. Their produce is not so good. I actually will not buy produce from them anymore because it's never good. Also, what's up with carpet? It's gross and makes the store feel dingy and dirty. The grocery store has a bad odor. I noticed this is the only grocery store that has wall to wall carpets through out the store maybe that why it smells bad. I don't like the uncleaniness of carpets in a grocery store. The prices are way too high. They don't offer many common items you would fine easily in a stop and shop etc. I only go in to shop if I have to like last minute item etc it's the closest store to me. I shop other stores for my groceries. However, the employees are very helpful and go out of their way to find you items that are not on shelf. I also don't like how the employees are told to follow customers to thier cars so we won't steal the carriages! I actually can't stand this because I feel extremely rushed to get my groceries into my car. They need and can do better. read more

My favorite grocery store! I find it to be less expensive than the big chains. It isn't as large as the other stores in their chain, but it is easy to navigate, get what you need, and head out. Helpful, friendly staff and a clean store. It is a little further for me to drive to this store than some of the larger chains but the cost savings and positive experience is well worth it. This place is straight up cheap! I live in Boston, so at least to me it was. They have a rug in the whole store, which I think is funny. This is an old person's supermarket and there's nothing wrong with that. Don't expect any flashy, uber trendy hyperstore, this is basically a cleaned up IGA. All the basics but nothing gourmet or ethnic, small, comfortable store with great meat, seafood and deli. Very good service and a "cozy" place to shop. Baggers will usually help customers out with their stuff and don't be in a rush when you go here Droid Debbie, this aint the Brookline Whole Foods. read more

Had a very unpleasant experience at the deli counter . I was the only person in line. Although it was 7:30 and the store didn't close until 9, the 3 people behind the counter were doing clean-up and ignoring me. I did not grab a ticket due to the fact there was no one else waiting. A few minutes later another gentleman came to the counter and was served as he had the next ticket. Another person came up, and even though I said I was the 1st person there, she was waited on before me. I felt invisible. read more

It's a good smaller supermarket in that the prices are on par with the larger ones but their staff could use some guidance. Baggers frequently put raw meat with bread and salad items, cashiers are uncomfortably inquisitive- weirding our my 9 year old (and me!), I get my main shop elsewhere because if you get more than you can carry they follow you out to your car to help you even if you say you don't want help. Sounds like it shouldn't be a big deal except when I initially declined the response was so rude - basically : "this is how we do it so I AM emptying your carriage" so now the whole thing makes me uncomfortable. It's just a quirky little place with oddball policies that ignore this customer's preferences. read more

AWWWESOME!!! The prices are the BEST! MUCH cheaper than the BIG chain stores.Of course they don't have quite the variety of brands, etc; but who cares when most items are $.50- $1.00 each cheaper. The staff is great too, so helpful ! And you never have to wait long to check out! read more
