shay is just wrong. period. I have two checks dated May 29th to prove it. If I can attach copies to this posting I would. She may have several phones, but I have one. An with that one phone I have, I can also prove what what dates we talked. For the record, the other trainer I got to teach Sarah how to get out of a pool should she fall in, laughed when I told her that my former pool trainer complained when she actually got in the water. Imagine getting a scared dog to go into a pool when you yourself don't want to go in. Or didn't plan on going in. What kind of thinking is that? By the way, this "lake" that she called it, makes me laugh a little. You see, when I talked to Shay, she told me that she was taking Sarah to a "beach" (that was her EXACT description) and encouraged me to go. It wasn't required. Of course I went, but I was dressed for a beach. Where she actually took me I believe was private property (Paramount Ranch off Kanan Rd and 101 FRWY). It was on that drive there that we mostly talked about that silly project she keeps bringing up. I don't know if the property was private, but it felt that way. You can look it up yourself on google maps. Anyway, where we went was not a beach, nor was it a lake. It was a rushing creek. It was beautiful, but wasn't a beach. Shay also did not prepare me that I would be required to go in the water. I should be the one pissed off about having to go into the water with my clothes. If I knew we were going to a creek and not a beach and that I would have to go into the water, I would have dressed appropriately. I would have worn swimming trunks and shoes where I could walk on rocks. Instead, I was shirtless, barefeet walking around, and with wet shorts. It sucked. I never complained. My focus was on my dog. I had one day with Shay (not two sessions) and I wanted to get as much in as possible. Also, I had a very busy work schedule and couldn't commit several days. I never wanted to get into this kind of detail. Also, that "success" she talks about Sarah going to the water on her own. She didn't go in on her own. Sarah use to go to the water with me all the time before she fell in that day. Sarah trusted me. I was asked to called her very forcefully. But at the end of the day, she never went too far into the creek and I had to carry her into the pool. The entire reason for Shay's Behavioral Training, ideally was that I wanted Shay to teach Sarah how to get out of the pool should she fall in again. That's why it was so important to me to carry her into the pool and teach her to find the stairs. Shay wanted me to ask the right questions. Am I at fault because I didn't ask her the right questions? I was paying her very well to teach us and give me information that I didn't know. She says that she told me about a fence, wrong again. Read my first posting. Shay told me that Sarah was safe around the pool because she was so scared of the pool. It doesn't make any sense. I did a ton of research on my own while my dog was staying with my friend (after Shay's training). I watched a lot of videos on Youtube and other pool training videos. Everything from setting up a barrier (tons on research on that because of cost issues and the fact that my house is a rental), purchasing a vest for training (which I did) to tossing my dog into the deep end (which I did several months later before the end of the summer) to putting up plants or flower pots that identifies the entrance, so it would be quicker for her to orientate herself for the stairs. These are the things that made a difference. Not calling her over and over again to come into the water. Over time and training I learned (without Shay) what eventually made my dog safe around the pool. Please understand that I am not putting Shay's personal life into ANY of my posting. How can a "business" operate like this? If I am a dissatisfied customer in a business, there are ways that a business should respond. There are ways that good businesses DO respond. What business starts attacking a personal life 9 months after a dissatisfied customer? What Shay is doing through these posting, states clearly to me how unprofessional of a business I dealt with. Well, now I am starting to get alittle irritated. I not only will never recommend her, but now, I will actively tell other dog owners I know to stay away from her. I am tired of this. let her say what she wants. I will continue to give her a 1 star review with each new posting that tries to undermine me. Also, Sarah still sniffs around my pool. She goes right up to it and even barks at the bubbling up as it self fills. She did this before she fell in, after she fell in (but more cautiously) and even today. That's why when Shay told me that Sarah was safe because she was so afraid of the pool and wouldn't go near it, made her lose credibility with me. My Karma is doing just fine. Shay is very unprofessional. read more
