EcoHandyman was the most expensive of the bids we received, but we felt the quality materials and work justified the price for our primary residence. They used a thick 12 mil crawlspace vapor barrier, reinforced to 15 mil under stored items, exceeding the flimsier 6 mil plastic typically used by cheaper contractors. The radon system components were high quality and installed properly for energy efficiency and performance. Throughout the project, communication was clear and all crew members conducted themselves professionally in our home. They kept us informed during each step and were thoughtful about protecting our space during the messy crawlspace work. Most importantly, the crawlspace improvements have drastically reduced winter radon levels from over 8 pCi/L to around 1 pCi/L now. The vapor barrier and added insulation also seem to make the floor noticeably warmer this winter. The overall experience gives us confidence that the work was done right. While the price was high, we felt it was fair for the quality and expertise. For any major crawlspace or radon work needed in the future, EcoHandyman will be at the top of our list to call again.

On the preceding Friday they asked if we could move it to Tuesday the 10th. I said fine. On Tuesday morning they told me it would not work for them that day, and that they would knock $100 off the price in consideration of the repeated inconvenience and come on Wednesday, today, the 11th. We first used them around 2016-17 and will not look to anyone else because of the outstanding service we have gotten from EcoTreck since the first time. I encourage you to read on because there are multiple reasons why we went with EcoTreck and it would be of benefit to know what they are. 1- It all began when my wife ended up with fungal pneumonia. We were told how rare this is and I immediately started looking for someone to help with mold issues that may have caused this issue. 2- As I searched for help, I found there's not a lot to choose from. I called companies near us and in the surrounding area. Of all the companies I contacted EcoTreck was one of only two who actually called back. 3- The first company whocalled ended up quoting us an astronomical figure with no actual reasons why we needed their prescribed work. But, thankfully EcoTreck was out the next day to go above and beyond in the form of explanation of the work needed to remedy the issues that may have created my wife's health problem as well as providing us with a quote that was far easier to swallow- not to mention having the entire process explained to me. 4- The other company was of little help of explanation as to why we needed certain things. I was left guessing and researching. Plus they required we set up a crew of four guys in a hotel while they completed the work EcoTreck did in far less time than the other company wanted. Having EcoTreck here in Steamboat is perfect. 5- As noted, EcoTreck was there for all I didn't get from the first company. I'm not exaggerating this, but the owner, Kevin did far more work inspecting our place than the other guys, not to mention he willingly took time to explain our issues and why they needed to be remedied. . 6- EcoTreck even offered us options for materials used and let me know the differences between those options in materials as well as methods of remediation. The rep from Lallier, Joel Sebern, was referred…read moreto us by the rep from Farmers Insurance because he said they did a few other roofs and the owners were happy; and they replaced our building's flat roof in August, 2018, and now it's already leaking. Joel is no longer with Lallier. I got the inspection report from the insurance company and it shows the roof general condition is poor-fair. I contacted Lallier and talked to their service manager, David Baker. He went out and said he repaired the leaks by placing some polyurethane sealant to seal the two pitch pans that were open. However, he did not seal the opening at the AC unit where the report said was a possible leak source. I called and talked to him and told him that the report estimated the roof age to be 15 years old even though they just replaced it a little over 2 years ago, it shows that the roof was in poor-fair condition and that there is no ice/water shield, the gutter they put on 2 years ago is already in fair condition, and there is only a single layer of ply membrane with no felt, the photos show the water is soaking throughout the roof everywhere and the parts where the water is pooling are in poor condition. David said it's because the materials shrunk and it's dipping down and blame it on the structure and that it will cost me $1500 to fix the part where the water is pooling. I told him Joel told me the material they used were of premium quality and it would not leak for 20 years and that I called the manufacturer and they told me Lallier got only the material warranty for me which was free for them to get and did not get a warranty with labor. This means they were being cheap. If they had told me that it would cost me more to get a warranty with labor, I'd have paid it. I told David he should have repaired where the part of the roof struction is dipping down for me at no charge and place the ice/water shield on it so to protect it from future damages. He said he will look at the report and call me back. I called and left a message and emailed him and have not heard from them. Don't hire these guys. The insurance rep told me most the roof jobs in the Denver areas should last at least 5 years without any problems. Their website give you reasons to hire them and they all are not true or do not apply to your case if you hire them. The only time you'd know there is a problem since you're not a roof expert is when there is a problem and then they don't fix it for you. I will go on Google review, Facebook and anywhere else I can find to let people know the shoddy jobs they do and will let the BBB know so they do get the A+ rating and cannot put that on their website anymore. If they do, I will contact the secretary of state of Colorado and complain to them for misleading advertising.
