After receiving proper care, about 90% of the phlegm and congestion I had been experiencing in my throat has cleared up. I believe I may also have had an infected Eustachian tube that had gone untreated. The doctor who treated me was exceptionally kind, considerate, and down-to-earth. In fact, she was so approachable and caring that I initially thought she might be a nurse. She listened carefully, took my concerns seriously, and provided outstanding care. When I told her that what she does is like being a brain surgeon, she laughed and said, "I'm not a brain surgeon." What I meant was that her work requires an incredible amount of training, skill, precision, and attention to detail. The expertise she demonstrated made a real difference in my life. We live in a difficult and often stressful world, and I think it's important to recognize people who truly make a difference. I want to thank the doctor and everyone involved in my care. When I was trying to sleep that night, I became concerned, because I was getting worse. I called the answering service and they put me in touch with the on call doctor, who happened to be Dr. Nall. She was very upset that I had disturbed her sleep, as she had to perform surgery the next day, and she totally dismissed me, although she was the on call doctor! I was unable to speak to her on the phone, nor get a follow up visit for 3 weeks! Meanwhile, the issue was not improving. I finally went to an ER and paid for some alternative treatments, all at my expense. I was finally able to see her today, and she stated the problem was my nostrils were small, and I probably had an allergy. I did not have the "allergy" before she performed an unnecessary procedure! She also said that she is very busy seeing really sick patients, like those with cancer, implying that I wasn't worth her time, when she caused the issue from which I was suffering! I did see another doctor in the practice, since I couldn't get in to see Dr. Nall, and she was wonderful. I would highly recommend her, Dr. Rachel Kelley.

I had a surgical procedure on October 16th involving a middle ear injection to address eustachian tube dysfunction. This procedure had been scheduled months in advance. A day before my the surgery date, Dr. Marlowe's office contacted me and required a $450 out-of-pocket payment for the injection, stating they would work with my insurance afterward to assist with reimbursement. I paid this amount. On the morning of surgery, I arrived at the surgery center at 6:00 a.m. and was informed that I would also need to pay a $1,200 surgery center fee because it had not been submitted to my insurance for pre-authorization. The office had several months to obtain authorization but had not done so - to my expense. I was told that if I did not pay the $1,200 that morning, the procedure would need to be rescheduled. After waiting months with intermittent hearing in one ear, I felt I had no choice but to pay. It has now been four months, and I have not been reimbursed for either charge due to repeated billing errors. My insurance company has issued multiple denials based on incorrect coding, missing documentation, and failure to submit required retro-authorization forms. Each time I follow up, they tell me "it's resolved on their end." It's "resolved" because I paid it! Unless I consistently pursue updates myself, no action is taken. I carry excellent insurance coverage, and reimbursement should not be difficult. The issue is not coverage -- it is the repeated failure to properly submit documentation and carelessness of the office because they are not out the $1,650, I am.

And there it was. In short my inner ear balance mechanism was out of synch. What was once ultimately cured surgically at the expense of hearing, could be corrected with a very specialized form of PT designed to rerouted neuropsychological navigation. I had a nightmare of an experience with them and am shocked with how I was treated. I've never been treated so poorly or met with such hostility from a medical professional team. Every appointment, of which I had three, I left with more questions than answers causing unnecessary anxiety. My very first appointment was at 5 weeks and I had an ultrasound showing a sac in my uterus and a cyst on my ovary (3x3cm). The doctor told me he cannot rule out that it's not ectopic and told me to go to the ER if I had any cramping or bleeding while at my wedding in Mexico. After talking with friends and hours of research (thank you ChatGPT), I learned it's pretty standard/normal to have a cyst on your ovary, and a sac in your uterus is indicative of a normal/healthy pregnancy. For my second appointment at 7 weeks the doctor was in and out in less than 8 minutes. I had an ultrasound where we learned the cyst on my ovary had doubled in size within the last two weeks. I was looking for any information, good or bad, about this cyst and what to expect. I was met with hostility as though I should know all the answers myself. The doctor said to us "what questions do you have before I leave the room." My husband asked if the cyst is something we should be worried about and the doctor held up his hand to show us how big 7 cm is. My husband luckily thought to ask what the cyst was filled with (fluid), so we could at least do some research on our own. No information was volunteered by the doctor or staff, we had to know exactly what to ask. After my second appt went by so abruptly, I called the next day to ask what the transfer process would be if we wanted to change providers. We received an email address for the practice and were told to email them if we wanted to transfer my records, and to include the contact info for whatever practice we plan to move to. After discussion with my husband, we decided to stay with Lotus women's health-- maybe this last appointment was just a fluke, and it is very close to our house. I called back within the hour to clarify that we're not changing practices and wanted to be sure to keep my currently scheduled appointments and confirmed we were staying- please don't cancel my appointments. Prior to my next appointment, I was sure to complete all appointment confirmations and pre-check-in information for my next appointment, so I was sure I was in their system and they were ready/able to see me. Today was my third and last appt, which was so hostile and very confusing. I'm now 11 weeks along and it had been 4 weeks since my last ultrasound (which had complications due to my large cyst so I was excited to have my next one). They mentioned at the end of my second appointment that this 3rd ultrasound would be trans-abdominal (whereas my past two were trans-vaginal), plus I've also had one every appointment so I'm thinking that's how these things work. When we were put in a room without ultrasound abilities, I asked what we were doing today. A few minutes later, the office manager came in to tell me there will be no ultrasound and that today is just a check-up. After a few minutes of questions, the office manager said "clearly you're unhappy here so I recommend transferring." I was shocked and so confused. I'm a first time mom and need a bit of hand-holding, kindness, and clear communication on what comes next. I did not get that. I've never done any of this before and I'm not a medical professional, so I was hoping for more information to be volunteered rather than expecting us to know what to ask and how to navigate this journey. I am shocked with how we were treated these last two appointments, especially today, and very sad it went the way that it did.
