I needed to fix up my hair. Booked the Groupon for haircut/style/conditioning treatment. Was given Kathy upon arrival. Terrible terrible work. I asked for my hair to be straightened with a little wave to it. She didn't straighten my hair at all and gave me curls. Something I did not want. She used an olden day 1900s blow dryer. Upon leaving, my hair was still went. She left as soon as I gave her the money. I extremely dislike the work done to my hair. I saw that William however does an excellent job. I recommend if you are going to go here, you should 100% get him or don't go at all. read more

This has been one of the worst, most backwards situations of my life. I originally scheduled a full highlight and a haircut in which the stylist, Philip, did not give me a consultation and when he was "finished" he proceeded to charge me 20$ more than he quoted me. At this point, I still had some split ends, the highlights were choppy, uneven, and they were a mix of yellow and some very white looking. I contacted the owner to explain what had happened and she offered to see me and correct the service. One would think that a service corrected would be free, but it was not. She was explaining that she'd be charging me another $100 to complete the service. She explained to me that I would need an all over color to lighten my base and then my hair would look like the picture I had originally showed Philip and herself. I was very clear, when I asked her if the look I wanted to achieve was not going to be possible. She was very confident that it was possible and that I would love it. I was weary, but I trusted her. My roots are now orange, the blonde highlights look just as choppy and unblended. So at this point, I have paid $199 for hair that I am so embarrassed by. I need to find a real salon to correct this. Love love love this salon. Being new to the area, it was tough to decide where to get my hair done where there are tons and tons of salons! Plus, it's a city and my small town budget isn't used to the cost of many of the salons here. I will say, for me, the prices here are a little high but I totally get that everyone has to be competitive and I am simply not used to paying a lot for my hair. However, that being said, my boyfriend got me a groupon for my birthday. It has been almost a year since I had my color touched up so I was desperately trying to find something. The groupon was $75 for a cut, full foil and deep condition - a $150 value. And I have to say, I would have paid $150 to get what I got! Amy did an amazing job. She knew exactly what I was going for but knew with the past color correction I had done last year, we wouldn't be able to achieve the right shade of blonde without destroying my hair. She advised me to go a few shades lighter and come back to go lighter when my hair has a chance to recover. Anyway, I did not end up getting the deep condition, it must have slipped both our minds, but the foil Amy did came out beautiful. My 8 year old son was with me and she let him use her Ipad and made him hot coco. I did have to pay an extra $10 for the toner, which didn't surprise me but thinking back I wish I had asked if I could have used the deep condition on the groupon for the toner. But either way, $10 + tip is nothing when you're getting friendly service, and a beautiful new look! read more

This afternoon I went to Shear Dimensions after purchasing a Groupon. Upon arrival, I was given Kathy, who initially nice enough. However, the entire time she was incredibly unprofessional--she would ask me questions about how I wanted my haircut, and then speak over me about entirely different topics. The haircut itself doesn't look terrible, although only because she cut so little off--it does not look like I got a haircut at all. Also, all of the tools she used appeared to be dirty and covered in somebody else's hair. She kept hitting me in the face/catching my ear with the hairbrush which was not great either. The entire time I felt incredibly uncomfortable in the salon. At the end, I stated that I was upset because she did not give me what I had specifically asked for. She began to argue with me, so rather than stay in that place longer I just paid and left. The entire time she was clearly more interested in conversing with me/the other hair stylists and running her hands through my hair than actually doing what I paid her to do. To top it all off, I live about 15 minutes away but had found a Groupon for this salon, which is why I drove all the way out there. The Groupon said that the price for a cut/wash, etc. was $50, and the price of the Groupon itself was $25 (ie 50% off Groupon). However, the sign in the salon said that a cut/wash is only $30, which made me feel like the salon was scamming me. I feel really bad leaving such a harsh review, but I don't want anybody else to have such a terrible experience--please go elsewhere! read more

This was the worst hair salon I have ever been to! I went to see Joanne P. and I have never been so frustrated getting my hair cut in my life. I do not recommend her at all. I go to a higher end salon typically (I was looking to get a trim and highlights for a cheaper price) and I found out that it is actually cheaper to get my hair done there than it is at Shear Dimensions, and the job gets done much better. I went to Shear Dimensions because I heard it was a reasonable price, but it definitely wasn't. I did not like Joanne's techniques to layering, it came out terrible! My color looked pretty good the day she did it, but after that it just didn't look right. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! IT IS A MISERABLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!! read more
