I gave Shearious 5 stars because of the following: Location: The place was easy to find using my GPS. It is located on the corner of the Kroger shopping center. They are small, so you have to really look to see them. Stylist: Kate at Shearious is wonderful! She is friendly and very accommodating. I went from having dark brown hair to a warm golden brownish blonde ombré. She took her time and explained everything. I was nervous getting my hair color since I haven't done it in so long. She gave an awesome head massage too when she washed my hair. I already have another appt with her in a couple of months for a touch-up. Price: Her price was super cheap compared to all the other places I called. Appointments: It's easy to make appointments. They open until 6pm, but if you take longer than expected, then they will stay after. No rushing you out! I wish they opened on Sunday though, given I work all the other days. I hesitated to write this review because Jake and Stacy did what they could to try and make me feel better about what happened, but I wouldn't be doing my duty as a female if I didn't try and stop you from getting serviced by Kate at Shearious salon. She DESTROYED my hair just 2 days before I left on vacation a few weeks ago. I went in for a haircut and consultation a few weeks prior, and she felt confident that my hair would look close to the picture I showed her and ASSURED me that it would look good for my trip. Instead, when I went in for my service, I was there for 6 hours, only to leave with a full head of breakage in an orange, stripey pattern. I've been getting my hair colored for 15 years, so I know a little bit about salon ethics, and Kate completely threw those out the window and completely ruined the integrity of my hair. I can't even blow dry it anymore because it just breaks off on my hairbrush. That's even AFTER sleeping in olaplex and/or conditioner for the last two weeks. Fortunately, I have an appointment to get a haircut this Thursday at a different salon, but I'll likely have to get it cut to a pixie cut to have any hope at a healthy head of hair. This girl should NOT be allowed to continue doing hair, and I really hope you don't ever have to experience what I'm going through with mine. read more

Josh and Stacie know how to treat their clients like no other salon I have ever been to! All of the staff are as talented as the other from what I see every time I have a color or cut which is usually once a month. Shearious is the best Salon in town! I've been going to Stacey for years to do my color. She is very talented and uses the best coloring products on the market. I'm a blonde and she does blondes AWESOME but her other work is fab too. She and Josh are the owners and they run a fun but professional salon. Always clean and great customer service! Today was the first time I saw Jake @ Shearious for a cut and style with my new extensions. He did an AMAZING job! They even picked out the right colored ones for me so I didn't have to try and guess. I will definitely be going back in a couple weeks to have my hair styled for my bachelorette party. Shearious is a fantastic new salon with a great casual vibe. I followed Jake there from his previous salon and was perfectly happy with the change of venue- great location and atmosphere. Jake is the first hairdresser to ever give me a haircut I have loved (I am 22 and have curly hair- those with curly hair will surely know how that feels). I never leave with a hair cut that I am not happy with and I always get compliments. He has also done highlights for me before, and they were so perfectly subtle that when they grew out, no one suspected that they were unnatural highlights growing out, and just thought I had gotten a lot of sun this summer. I recommend him to every friend of mine looking for a new hairdresser. Even if you are ITP (I am as well), he is certainly worth the drive! read more

Fantastic experience! I recently moved to the Brookhaven area and I ran across this salon when I was grocery shopping. Who would imagine that one would find such an upscale, progressive salon in right in their own backyard? Although the place is small it's big on personal service. This salon is definitely upscale but nothing close to "snooty". It's a non-intimating environment and the people there exude fun with warmth. Casey was fabulous! He gave me the hairstyle what I wanted but made great suggestions too. Although he is young, he has the makings of a truly great stylist. Go see him. My stylist moved away and I after reading all the 5 star reviews hon Yelp decided to try these guys out. They managed to fit me in quite quickly (major plus point) and I chose "Jake", again after reading all the reviews. Sadly I didn't have the great experience that other reviewers had. I have been growing out my hair (I lost it all due to chemo and it has taken a long while to grow it back) so I asked Jake to "tidy up my hair" as it was looking a bit unkempt. I am very shortsighted and take off my glasses while having my hair washed and cut. Throughout my haircut I continued to check with Jake that he wasn't cutting too much off, I just wanted it trimmed. When I put my glasses back on though, I find that he cut my hair short!!!!! And with a new style. Now don't get me wrong, he did a nice job and the texture was great - but it just wasn't what I wanted. I will not be going back here as there is too much chatting between stylists and not enough listening to customers. read more

I would have given 5 stars had I written the review after the first visit. I have been a returning customer and their service has deteriorated with each visit. At times, the attitude is similar to "we are too good for you" and can come across as snobby. Jake and Josh are the better ones there, but frankly, it's too much over hyped. Also, it's hilarious that their front desk person writes reviews for them on Yelp giving 5 stars and claiming the front desk is super nice. Haha! read more

I saw Casey for a color correction after I had a nightmarish experience at a different salon. He did an amazing job fixing my color! It was so bad before that I didn't think it would be possible for my hair to look this good- and he made sure to keep my hair healthy which means the world to me. I'll definitely be seeing him again for highlights in the future. I also love the cut Josh did! It's the best haircut that I've had in a long time and I can't wait to go for my next appointment. I would definitely recommend Shearious to anyone. They have a really nice staff and make you feel comfortable while you're there. A friend of mine recommended Shearious to me when I was l looking for a new hairstylist closer to me. That was this past summer and I have been to Josh and Stacy several times since then. Stacy is a wonderful colorist and so sweet. Josh has created some incredible hair cuts on me. I love that they take their time with me and create a look that I will truly love. I tried to bleach my own hair a couple of years ago and it was a disaster. I went to Shearious to have it fixed, and Jake was nothing short of a miracle worker. Since then, I've gone from blonde to red and everything in between and leave the salon thrilled every time. My hair not only looks great, but it's healthier than it's ever been. The stylists don't only have talent, they have passion. When Mallory said everybody was nice, she was just a customer, but it was just as true then as it is now that she works there. I had emailed them to get some info on a Monday, because I was at work and it was more convenient, I know they are closed Monday so I was hoping to hear from them on Tuesday, and now Thursday is here and I never received an email back. If you are not going to respond back to emails don't even offer it on your website, just ask us to call. I wish I could leave this review without a rating as it is directed towards Kate and not the salon itself. I booked my appointment about 2 weeks (if not more) in advance. I was SO excited to go see Kate! The weekend before my actual appointment I got a call from Kate stating that she will no longer be able to accept appointments and will be moving to a new salon. WTF? I asked if I could have my appointment shifted to her new location for the same date and time, she informed me that they will not open until the 29th and could get me in at 11. Also, WTF. I have a job and cannot just go to the salon whenever I please. I booked a WEEKEND appointment that far in advance for a reason... Kate did not seem very sympathetic or apologetic to lose out on a new customer. She should have been more professional and honored her existing appointments before she left. Poor professionalism on Kate's behalf. HOWEVER, I called today to see if anyone else would be able to see me before I go out of the country. Unfortunately everyone was booked, but the woman who answered seemed very sorry and shared my frustrations. I've been going to Shearious since their doors opened. Love them! Fantastic addition to the n'hood. Not only are they all very artistic and talented but they let their personalities shine through. Stacie is a color whisperer. Reds are tough and she nails it every time even with my vague descriptions of how I want to tweak it. Josh and Jake are two of the best cut stylists I've ever come across. Have to say, though, I still miss seeing Mallory at the desk. Consistent great cut and color are tough to find. Too much attitude and too less attention to customer's desires. I agree with other reviewers when they mention about the attitude of the stylists. I am not getting the cut for free, so the least you can do is be courteous and not be demeaning when the customer wants something you don't agree with. They can fit you in real quick, but I have found better options elsewhere. Out of courtesy, I won't name names, but avoid stylists who enforce their views instead of listening to customers. I chose Shearious hair salon about 4 years ago and have had exceptional service from the beginning! Stacey and Josh are the owners and they are so nice, down to earth and super hip! All of the stylist are up with the latest trends and can also provide classic, timeless styles. Casey is my colorist, stylist and all things FUN! He makes every effort to get to know his clients and provides a fun and engaging environment/experience. Casey is a fantastic colorist. I am brunette and before going to Casey I really wasn't able to stay loyal to one hair professional because the service wasn't exceptional or the color wasn't always on point. Side note: Casey is always up for a Starbucks - drink of the moment: Iced coconut milk caramel macchiota. Just ask him! :) I highly recommend this hair salon! I am new to the pixie cut. The first thing I learned when getting it is that it is hard to find a stylist that is comfortable cutting the pixie. My first time was at a different place than Shearious and not only did I have to coax the stylist for hours to cut the length that I wanted, I wasn't very satisfied with the cut when I left either. Then I met a lady with a great pixie and she referred me to Jake at Shearious. He loves cutting pixies and it shows in his work. Even when I had long hair, I never felt thrilled coming out of a salon, but I left Shearious feeling fabulous. It's also a fun atmosphere. I've been going to Stacey Harvey for almost a decade and Jake Khan for almost 6 or 7 years. I followed them from their old location because they are well worth it. Stacey is by far the best colorist, especially for me, an asian with black hair going blonde.. very hard to find a great colorist to be able to do that. She is the absolute best and the sweetest person on earth. Jake Khan is my stylist who continues to learn new techniques and it just keeps getting better. I feel he knows how to do it all. My old stylist moved about 7 months ago. This happened to coincide with me switching to the "no poo" method of cleansing my hair (my hair hasn't looked this healthy in ages). I was nervous about looking for a new stylist partially due to the normal difficulty of finding a good stylist, and partially because I had no idea what a stylist might say about my chosen method of hair care. Shearious is close to my house and after reading reviews on yelp, it sounded like a salon where I might just get a wonderful haircut and acceptance of what my husband lovingly refers to as my "hippiness." I am thrilled to report that not only did Jake not even bat an eye when I explained "no poo," he immediately suggested I could bring what I use next time if I'd still like the shampoo/ massage experience! He spent time talking to me about my hair, and my style regimen (non existent) and gave me a haircut I didn't even know I wanted! While Jake is officially my new stylist, I must say that they will tell you everyone there is equally talented, and based on the amazing styles and color I saw from all the stylists, they are not exaggerating!
