    Walked the beach everyday!!!

Amazing stay. Near restaurants and walk to the beach. Hospitality was amazing!!! First tine in the area but will return.

From a lower level king size room with no balcony. Going up a level on the next stay! But still great!

The parking lot is for small cars. This hotel is ultra dog friendly. The renovations that they have done make it an immaculate destination on the coast. The staff are amazingly kind and helpful. Kyllos is within a tiny walk of o get amazing take out. The Chinese place across the street delivers to your room. And is quite tasty. If you plan to stay here, then explore the coast all day, then this is your new home away from home. We like to chill in the room and enjoy the view. The furniture may be an acquired taste? But for us we couldn't find a comfortable position on any of the furniture. It was seriously brutal. Others might find it comfy or cozy. But it was so rock hard, it was difficult to enjoy the truly well appointed room. We love the hotel and staff, just not the furniture. The five stars is because we still wouldn't stay anywhere else. Bring a small car to park, and buns of steel, you'll be thrilled!

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. To say it was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had is not an understatement. It's conveniently located off the 101 and its backyard is the beach. The room was touched up daily and there were enough pillows, towels, etc. for all of us. We never had to ask for anything because it was all there. The room was spacious and everything was in good condition. Coffee and tea was available in the lobby all day and was never empty. A simple breakfast was delivered to the room each morning. The staff was very friendly. Most hotels are constantly looking to cut costs, to the detriment of the customer's experience. This estaishment is an example of a business that provides a complete and high quality experience by not cutting corners.

Great location and amazing views of the beach! Wonderful staff. My wife and I love to stay here for our getaways to the beach!

Absolutely love this hotel. My family has stayed here twice now in the 2 bedroom suite and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else going forward. The room stays nice and dark and the beds are really comfortable. The kitchen is also fantastic and has everything I need for cooking. The hot tub is also very nice. Definitely would recommend

ocean view king, parking lots do not appear in photos on hotel's website gallery

I give this place props for being well run, nicely maintained, very clean, offering a free breakfast they bring to your door, having a blackout drape so I can sleep, having a polite person at the front desk, and having a jetted tub. For many basic trips from point a to point b that would be fine. I feel the hotel is deceptive however in the gallery on its website, which shows several photos of rooms that make it appear you are right on the beach or have views that are primarily of the ocean. This may be true for a few of their rooms, but not for the vast majority, which have close-up views of parking lots and other businesses closer to the ocean, which dominate the view from the balconies from at least the 3rd floor down in this 5 story hotel. None of the photos in the gallery reveal this basic fact--that there are dozens of cars and people and buildings in between you and the ocean--which in fact dominates the setting. In my case, I was at the end of a 30th anniversary trip my husband and I were taking up the Oregon coast. I noted this on the comment section asking for the highest floor possible while paying for a nicer king room that was said to have an ocean view. We did have a little view of the ocean, about 10-20 feet between the popular restaurant and the motel in front of us, both closer to the beach and dominating the hotel's ocean view side. When I reserved my room based on their website photos, I did not realize the hotel is very much a highway 101 hotel, dominated by the busy road and the unappealing business frontage on on one side and on the other by little glimpses of the ocean and big views of parking lots and other hotels and restaurants. I did not realize there would be a row of restaurants and hotels closer to the ocean than us. We were put on the 3rd floor at one end, which meant we mainly had an unsettlingly intimate view of the big parking lots for the large hotel and popular restaurant in front of us. In fact, upon reflection it is hard to imagine a worse room on the "ocean" facing side. To the left of us was the exit for all the autos coming out of the hotel property. To the right was the entrance, so we got to see all the cars entering on the other side. The room was very close to the road, as I explain below. Maybe they wanted to punish us for being married 30 years and coming there to celebrate part of our anniversary? Did they do it because I wanted to check in at 3 instead of 4 and they were irritated by this? Hard to believe it was the only one they had--they were busy like all hotels in the summer but there was no vacancy sign. Surely they could have done better. All the other hotels on our 30th anniversary trip sure did. We also had an unexpectedly close view of the hotel driveway. Because the hotel is up a hill, we got a close view of every car that came onto the hotel grounds and every car that left, and the oversized vehicles unloading, and people walking up and down the driveway over to the beach, and all the people parking for the restaurant adjacent, and all the people parking in the giant parking lot in front of us for the hotel closer to the ocean. And they got to see us if we had our curtains open or were out on our balcony. It felt like we were ending our 30th anniversary trip in the middle of a giant parking lot on view by dozens of motorists and their families rather than having a romantic getaway at the ocean. Maybe the top floor gives you enough distance from all the parking lots surrounding you that you feel like you are at the ocean. We sure didn't; it felt like an odd enclave with balconies facing parking lots and buildings blocking the ocean from us. I was kind of sad I have to admit, and eager to move on to our next stay. Oh yeah their check in time is 4, which I learned after arriving at 2:45 and getting to enjoy some time in their unappealing parking lot, one of the many that make up your surround if you like me make the mistake of paying over $250 to come here for a special occasion.

This room is so cozy don't want to leave ..Perfect vie of ocean from your bed .

Wow 1st day of vacation turned out right for a change . This place is special almost like the best kept secret . We had a free stay we thought we would use and it worked out perfect . It's located next to Kilos restaurant has great beach access and you can see the ocean from bed literally . They have wine tasting from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the main lobby. The atmosphere is so relaxing . You would not believe this part they accept pets up to 40lbs . The room was cleaner smelling than places we have stayed at that don't allow pets . They have games in the lobby you can play either downstairs or in your room you can crab a dvd from there collection if you like movies .Wow just so wonderful here I can't believe we never stayed here . We have just about stayed at every hotel in Lincoln city .. We will definitely be back for another stay . It's really worth the money oh they have free WiFi too . They get 5 stars and highly recommended ..

We were only there one night, but I have to tell you, it was a really nice hotel experience! I reserved the Family (fireplace) suite. The hotel has two floors and this was on floor 2. We had a nice roomy balcony with two chairs for sitting in while soaking in the beauty. The room itself was really large, with a king bed in the main and a queen, I believe, in a separate room. TVs in the main room and the bedroom. The fireplace was gas, gave off nice heat at night as it got chilly outside, and added to the ambiance. This hotel has breakfast! This was also a pleasant experience. They had the usual cereals and yogurts, but also had big waffles and biscuits and gravy! The food was good! We brought a bottle of wine ourselves, but I did notice they sell wine and beer in the lobby, which is nice, right? I definitely would (and will) stay there again the next time we are in the area. I forgot to take pics of the room itself. Sorry about that. You can check out their hotel website to see it. The next time I stay there I will fix this! In the meantime, here are a couple shots from the balcony of our room. The staff were warm, friendly, and helpful. All in all, a really nice time. Thanks, Coho!

We did not utilize a majority of the amenities at the hotel, including the WiFi, fire pits, pool, or restaurant. Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent. It is far enough from Highway 101 that the traffic is not disruptive, but close enough that amenities and activities in Lincoln City are easily accessible. The view of the beach from our room was excellent, and beach access (via several flights of stairs) was convenient. Our room door was equip with a deadbolt, chain lock, and lock in the doorknob. For the most part, the room was clean and quiet, and the mattress and pillows were comfortable. Parking was convenient. Cons: The furniture in the room was not particularly comfortable. The furnishings were either outdated or lacking. The TV was difficult to use. Hand soap for the bathroom was not made available (but, "facial soap" was). The toilet and the sink in the bathroom both leaked/ran after use. Concerns: Our room was not ready and available to us at check-in time. When arriving to our room, after being asked to wait in the lobby, the room smelled strongly of cleaning solutions. During our inspection of the bed, the linens were obviously fresh and clean, but they were covered in hair (like, the laundry facilities they use for housekeeping aren't totally clean). These experiences dropped my rating from 4 stars to 3.

The room has a mini-fridge and a microwave. They have a great little sink for filling big water bottles, making tea, etc. no trying to fill the coffee pot in the bathroom sink. The room was also impeccably clean. Rooms that aren't fully cleaned can really put me off about a place. Not here. They seem to have high standards for everything they do here-- and everyone they hire. A gentleman who was from housekeeping even walked me to the elevator when I got turned around as I went to check out. He noticed my hands were full and hit the button for the lobby for me. As I was writing this review, I got a phone call. I had forgotten my favorite lunch box in the fridge! I hadn't gotten terribly far, so I still have time to go back. If you're on the fence, book it. One more neat thing: I got a way better rate booking directly with Starfish Manor. It shocked me, but it bears mentioning. I almost always use Expedia, but while I was looking for more room info on booking, I was delighted to find this. I will 100% be back. I recommend this highly. Our experience at Starfish Manor Hotel fell shockingly short of basic decency. We checked in on Friday, July 3rd, and returned at 10:30 PM to find the bathroom and shower covered in hair. With no other rooms available, the front desk agent (Stacy) refused to call housekeeping and offered zero solutions. I was forced to ask for cleaning supplies myself. She delivered rags, a spray bottle, and a nearly empty roll of paper towels. As healthcare professionals who understand basic hygiene standards, we had to clean someone else's hair out of our own hotel bathroom just to use the shower safely. Stacy promised housekeeping would handle it first thing Saturday morning (7/4). Instead, we returned at 11:00 PM to find the bathroom completely untouched. Once again, we had to disinfect it ourselves late at night. The worst part of this stay was the management's appalling response at checkout on 7/5: 1- Gavin read the notes, brushed us off, and offered a measly 20% credit for making guests do manual labor on their vacation. He then ignored us to talk to the Assistant Manager, Jaime. 2 -Jaime took over with zero apologies. Instead of taking accountability, she claimed it was our responsibility to follow up on their broken promise. 3- She insultingly suggested the bathroom "must not have been that dirty" since we stayed, and told us we simply could have gone to another hotel--completely ignoring the reality that it was a busy, sold-out 4th of July holiday weekend and finding another room at 11:00 PM was impossible. She then stated they would have only "helped us clean" the second night. Guests should never be expected to "help" clean a room they paid for. 4- Jaime ended the interaction by defiantly telling us to "do whatever we want" because she wasn't doing anything else for us. I noticed a sign in the lobby warning about a "zero-tolerance policy for aggressive customers." After experiencing their defensive, gaslighting, and entirely unapologetic management style, it is clear that what they label as "aggression" is actually just paying customers expressing justifiable frustration at an utter lack of common sense and basic cleanliness. ***** The management completely blames the consumer for their own operational and cleanliness failures.

She gave us some highlights of the property and we were quickly on our way. Also, the hotel WiFi was pretty good. Now for all the gripes, which I hate to do. This was the first time we stayed here. We "splurged" to stay here, rather than another hotel we regularly go to. At over $300 a night after taxes, we were not expecting stains everywhere; chairs, carpet, and bench. The carpet looked particularly filthy to where it hadn't ever been cleaned. A refrigerator that barely got cold after 2 hours of turning it on. Extremely thin walls; we heard kids next door crashing around for hours. The bed felt like we were just lying on a boxspring! If you have a bad back, the next morning you're going to hurt. They couldn't even supply pillows that would fit a king size bed. An establishment usually has one chance to impress their customer, and they certainly didn't impress us. We will never stay here again.

And the craziest fun feature was a full-on jacuzzi tub in its own cave off of the main room with fully mirrored back wall. Shaaawiiiing! Did not use it but it was sure fun to marvel at. The shower was a classic bathtub with the valve switch on the spigot. I bet many would not dig that, but I was tickled with the old school design.

We were disappointed that there wasn't a microwave or a mini fridge in our suite, unfortunately we had to survive on eating snacks or eating out any time we got hungry instead of warming something up in the microwave like leftovers or popcorn. My fiance and I went down to the beach, and that's when he proposed! It was so special, but on our way back he tumbled on some rocks and ended up splitting his head open- we rushed back to the motel to the front office and the male owner was at the desk (can't remember his name) we had asked if we could use some super glue to help my fiancé's head- because we felt it wasn't enough to spend our day at the ER, just a quick super glue fix would do the trick. The owner gladly grabbed some for us and seemed every caring and we all kind of chuckled about the whole situation- my fiance was fine, it was the tiniest nick, not gushing blood. He got patched up and we went about our stay, and he healed up pretty much the next day. We loved the room, and the tub. Very old school, cabin vibes. Will definitely return!
