    hair in bathtub

We were kicked out for having a service animal within 10 minutes of check in. There had been no barking or other issues, only that we had already called in hopes that the fireplace would work. Instead of even considering our request, they gave us an hour to leave. Both this and last time, the fireplace in room did not work. It lit up partially but seemed to have some issues and major burning on the glass. Beyond that, the room was dirty. Standing water in the tub, dirty jets, and stains on the sofa This place is dilapidated, gross, and completely unwilling to make anything right, including at the expense of a repeat guest. Won't be booking again. Still awaiting a promised refund. Save your time and money, stay at surf land instead!

If you find yourself out on the coast and just can't find it in yourself to drive back home then get over here to this awesome place. The suites are absolutely first class the spa tub is set up ocean front views . Slip on out to the balcony and enjoy the fresh ocean breeze while sipping a glass of local wine. Don't forget to turn on the fire place to warm up the room before you slip into a very very comfortable bed. You will never find a more peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Cheers . DMK

    Peeling paint

Sent as email on 12.11 to both Starfish Manor, AND Pacifica Host - no response as of 9p, 12.12.25 I was in #205/Pacific Suite, from Mon 12.08-Wed 12.10. Adding that we had a room (#212) previously(12.07-12.08), which also had a few issues... I'd suggest checking the shower heads & curtain..the curtain wouldn't stay put and caused water spraying out onto our clothes. We could not take any showers, without the potential of water damage. The main door was also VERY hard to open/latch. While in RM #205, I had taken a shower and noticed a few things in the bathroom. 1) the footrest/thing in the shower - as soon as I rested my foot on it, the black paint on the bar(steel?) began crumbling off. There is no possible way that my 1 shower caused this - maybe check what paint is being used? Not a great feeling to immediately set a foot down and have a slipping surface due to paint peels. The photos will show the different peeling placements that took place, aka - it kept moving. 2) red paint(hopefully not blood or polish?) on the shower floor 3) on the shelves next to the shower, there was a sticky item, similar to a bandage wrapper, with residue of...something... 4) fake/press on nail next to the toilet/trash can. *my nails shown* *additionally, the hot tub had a plastic film/bubble cover, not the traditional heavy, thick one. We checked in around 11:30-12p, with a hot tub temp around 100°. HOWEVER - the temp at 12p being 100°, makes it VERY hard to believe a thorough cleaning took place from my #212 checkout around 10:00a, to the availability at 11:12a(phone call) would even be at 100°... Adding flyers at the front desk stating hot water is replaced every visit and to expect a longer wait for proper 104° heating. Truly, I appreciate the kind gesture of getting our room ready sooner than 4p check in. I'd still just like to note these things. Especially, as a nod to a more thorough cleaning. I am in zero intention to be "picky"! It's my bday getaway & these little things sting a bit towards relaxation. On top of the fireplace not working and shotty tv + WiFi. I've stayed in the past - the Bella suite was my favorite. It's just me and my boyfriend; but I book the multi-room suites, due to the extra space of a kitchen and hot tub. This time was very disappointing. I don't know that I plan to return. I still, genuinely appreciate the quickness to have our room ready - although it was definitely not cleaned thoroughly; I've never had any problems otherwise. It's a lot of money to stay here, that consumes about 70% of my annual bonus, that I plan aside for my xmas eve bday - it just sucks. A lot.

I am not a fan of this place. My wife and I went there for our 20 year anniversary and didn't really in joy our stay. If you have other options I would recommend you take them. We stayed there for five days and they have a police that they do not have housekeeping which I'm not a fan of. The room was not in good condition. The fireplace didn't work and the paint on the wall was coming off. Overall the customer service was lackluster. When I got there the front desk acted like we were inconveniencing them by being there. There are a lot of other hotels in the area. I'd recommend trying to find a different one.

I'm standing here, so I can see the ocean, but if we were to sit or hot-tub, the view was worse than looking through dirty windows.

This is the most uncomfortable hotel I've stayed in in a very long time. I guess I was expecting luxury, and it was far from it. The beds and furnishings were terribly cheap and uncomfortable. The clear (plastic like?) material used to block in the deck is scratched up and dirty, so the view of the ocean from the deck is obstructed. The hot tub was ok, but totally not worth the price. There was mold around the bathroom shower! No amenities at all. Nothing. We were so disappointed, as it's a place I've been wanting to try out for years.

Sunday, lines painted over where I had been parked and cones in the fire lane.

Upon arrival, I parked in a white-marked parking spot without any vehicles nearby. Throughout the evening, three cars parked in the fire zone; the middle one was then blocked in. Instead of towing the cars in the fire lane, they towed my vehicle without notice. The next day, they painted over the lines of the parking spot and put cones in the fire lane. Management refused to pay the $630.00 tow fee, and the hotel has a business affiliation with the tow company that was a five-mile walk away. They also would not compensate for the room and a missed work day. I had to stay again to withdraw cash to pay the tow. Management stated that it looked like an old, faded parking place, which, upon arrival, looked like all of the other white parking lines. It's a beautiful view and room. However, the Manager is very dishonest; Irresponsible management and organizational immaturity are the problems here.

Access to the beach DIRECTLY in front of the building right there. Hmmm

$250 a night for four pillows in an oceanfront room. Excuse was pillows are on back order since January. Seriously it's June 15th? Find another supplier. I have had both hips replaced, And need more than two pillows. I bought some in town...and borrowed pillow cases so I could sleep. This morning I go down to see where I can walk out to the beach in front of our room, the oceanfront we paid for. Nope. You can walk out through the parking lot up a parking ramp to the resort next door to get there. Girl was rude and dismissive, walked off. Two more days here and the rest of our grand we committed to. Oh joy. The dining and fitness are already closed for renovations supposedly although haven't seen any work trucks. The room is very nice and the gal who checked us in was super nice. The rest has been a poor experience and we've only been here overnight.

We were only there one night, but I have to tell you, it was a really nice hotel experience! I reserved the Family (fireplace) suite. The hotel has two floors and this was on floor 2. We had a nice roomy balcony with two chairs for sitting in while soaking in the beauty. The room itself was really large, with a king bed in the main and a queen, I believe, in a separate room. TVs in the main room and the bedroom. The fireplace was gas, gave off nice heat at night as it got chilly outside, and added to the ambiance. This hotel has breakfast! This was also a pleasant experience. They had the usual cereals and yogurts, but also had big waffles and biscuits and gravy! The food was good! We brought a bottle of wine ourselves, but I did notice they sell wine and beer in the lobby, which is nice, right? I definitely would (and will) stay there again the next time we are in the area. I forgot to take pics of the room itself. Sorry about that. You can check out their hotel website to see it. The next time I stay there I will fix this! In the meantime, here are a couple shots from the balcony of our room. The staff were warm, friendly, and helpful. All in all, a really nice time. Thanks, Coho!

We did not utilize a majority of the amenities at the hotel, including the WiFi, fire pits, pool, or restaurant. Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent. It is far enough from Highway 101 that the traffic is not disruptive, but close enough that amenities and activities in Lincoln City are easily accessible. The view of the beach from our room was excellent, and beach access (via several flights of stairs) was convenient. Our room door was equip with a deadbolt, chain lock, and lock in the doorknob. For the most part, the room was clean and quiet, and the mattress and pillows were comfortable. Parking was convenient. Cons: The furniture in the room was not particularly comfortable. The furnishings were either outdated or lacking. The TV was difficult to use. Hand soap for the bathroom was not made available (but, "facial soap" was). The toilet and the sink in the bathroom both leaked/ran after use. Concerns: Our room was not ready and available to us at check-in time. When arriving to our room, after being asked to wait in the lobby, the room smelled strongly of cleaning solutions. During our inspection of the bed, the linens were obviously fresh and clean, but they were covered in hair (like, the laundry facilities they use for housekeeping aren't totally clean). These experiences dropped my rating from 4 stars to 3.

She was the one that booked the room and asked if I would like to join her in a weekend getaway. When she first arrived, she noticed some damage in the room. She took pictures and had someone from the office send someone to check it out to make sure we didn't get charged for the damages. We did take advantage of the indoor pool on our 2nd day of the stay. The hot tub did have a heavy chlorine smell, but it still felt good to soak in it. From where I sat in the hot tub, I could see an out of order sign on either the sauna or steam room. I didn't check it out. MIST restaurant is walking distance of hotel, which is convenient. The beds were super tall for me. I'm only 5 foot tall, and I had to do a running jump to get in bed! My friend that is about 5'9ish, said the bed was even tall for her. Other than that, there wasn't anything that stood out with this stay, so the next time I'm in Lincoln City, probably check out other hotels in the area.

One of the reasons I chose this place was because it's pet friendly. When we arrived, Greg gave us little doggie bags that included toys, treats, and poop bags :) There is a small grassy area nearby that makes it handy for a quick potty break if you're lazy like me after 9pm. Greg also told us about a new dog park nearby, so we checked that out, too! They provide a hot breakfast, which wasn't exceptional but wasn't terrible either. We ate breakfast both mornings and survived, lol The room was clean and smelled fresh. I wasn't bothered by any road noise, but I was bothered by what sounded like an army of children stomping on the ceiling. It was probably the same army of kids who interrupted my quiet pool time haha They have a pool, hot tub, and sauna with 10pm-12am being 18 + only, which was lovely. Overall, I would recommend staying at the Inn, and I plan on returning in the near future.

The adjustments they have had to make over the years were justified and acceptable due to changes in ownership, maintenance upkeep and of course the aftermath COVID restrictions. Positives: The front desk staff is very accommodating, the cleaning crew is helpful and the breakfast ladies worked really hard to keep things clean and stocked. I don't normally use the pool area, but my teenage niece does. She and her friend spent several hours at the pool, so it must have been acceptable for them. The lobby has a very cozy seating area with a fireplace. I also love that they have a little market stocked with food, sweets, beverages and trinkets. They also have an ample selection of DVD's (Tip: read the directions on the inside of the DVD cover for instructions on how to switch TV input) Location is great and right on hwy 101, which is convenient for shopping and all other activities except its proximity to the beach. You would have to drive to an access point for beach time. Downside: Two things have prompted me to make this post. The quality of the complementary breakfast. It has greatly diminished over the years and I don't think it would cost much more to add back a couple options that they used to have It does have biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage links, which is the usual "meh" buffet style choices, but it's the same selection every morning. There are muffins, which were available one morning, but not the next. There's coffee, juice, fruit cups, oatmeal packets, cold cereal and milk. It's really more of a continental breakfast now than a full blown hot breakfast. They have toasters, but nothing to put in the toaster. No more bagels & cream cheese, yogurt or hard boiled eggs. They used to have a waffle maker, but that went away several years ago. The other issue was the noise coming from outside of our room. Our room was on the second floor. Double queen, comfortable and clean, with the usual wear and tear that comes with staying at a well used hotel. The problem is that the noise from the third floor was alarming. I don't blame children for being super excited to having free access to a swimming pool, but the hotel needs to put families with small children on the ground floor or in rooms closer to the elevator. It sounded like the kids would fall right through the ceiling as they pounded up and down the third floor hallway with joy. We will most likely stay here again next year, but be more prepared. Like asking for a third floor room and bringing something to put in the toaster to go along with our breakfast. Easy and doable adjustments for us to make, I just thought it might be helpful to inform others if you are considering this hotel for your next visit.
