I don't even know where to start, but the photos of this establishment must be five years old. As soon as I pulled in it set the tone...it's a dump! It's hard to know where the office is as it's such a mess, small and cramped parking, etc. I reserved the "Under the Sea" room because it looked adorable online. I saw other comments to book directly instead of via Booking.com (to receive friendlier service) which I did and Peggy was very nice via text. Once I arrived at the office she was on the phone so I waited, and waited until I finally spoke up. There's only a ONE HOUR checkin time which seemed odd. When I got into the room I was mortified--no security lock on the door (single women beware) and filthy everywhere. She didn't like that I complained and told me to leave...twice. I did - she charged me $144 anyway!!! There are so many great places to stay in Newport but luckily due to this incident I found the Agate Beach Motel in town. It is 1000 times better, the grounds are beautiful, service and cleanliness are outstanding.

We have stayed 2x over the past several weeks and our family couldn't be happier with the all-around experience. First let me say, Peggy is AWESOME! She has gone above and beyond to help make our trips to the coast amazing. She even left our Son a Bday gift/card when she found out it was going to be his Birthday. It was so thoughtful and our Son will never forget it. Our kids LOVED the room we stayed in which was decked out as if you were living on a ship, portholes with views the oceans and all! Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable( it was nicer than the one at home lol). The ocean views and 1-minute walk down the stairs to what feels like an almost-private beach never got old and we cant wait for the next trip to Moolack Shores Inn!

Really great view, nice trail to a wonderful beach. Uncrowded. Close enough to town to enjoy Nana's at Nye Beach for lunch or dinner.nice staff.

This is a beautiful find near Newport. It's "just a motel" but better than places twice as costly. This is your own private coastline: pounding surf, lighthouse beaconing down the shoreline, wood-burning stove heating and lighting up your room. We slept with the doors to the ocean open, mesmerized by the waves crashing the sand and the cool foggy night. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/pGyHuQUQRwcwmnqRfaYwjg?select=Xm-k3PqVJ85GVlJTd_HuVQ Earlier, as we drove to the coast, we were later than expected to Newport after a long day of driving. Although I called ahead and warned someone at the motel that we would be arriving later that evening instead of our expected 4PM arrival, the owner never got the message. Around 6:30 PM, my phone goes off as we are a few miles down the coast, and the owner called to make sure we were ok. I assured her that we were almost there. Once we arrived and I checked in, she and her husband came out from the counter and she gave me a hug. Very touching seeing as how our drive had been a bit stressful and long. On top of that, she gave us some freshly frosted cookies to snack on. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/pGyHuQUQRwcwmnqRfaYwjg?select=sy9pn_PveC2TI1BpGG1bFw Very homey and comfortable feel. Kitchenettes if you want to bring your own food and cook. Free room of VCR movies which we hit up as well. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/pGyHuQUQRwcwmnqRfaYwjg?select=1VJQcjm_0A8EQQj7ONMQlg Each room has its own theme-ours was the Western Room. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/pGyHuQUQRwcwmnqRfaYwjg?select=4fTNixphCZkLzM8oRUwccA Fantastic place...will always remember first night at the picturesque Oregon coast thanks to this nice hospitality. Room with a view. We had a lovely one night stay here at the Moolack. The room is a bit old and could use some updating but it actually worked with the theme. There are about 12 rooms here at this property. Each room has a different theme. We stayed in the Antique room which was equipped with plenty of antiques. Some creepy but all appropriate for the room. Our room also had a fridge, microwave, electric fireplace, and a oceanfront patio area. I can't stress enough to make sure you look at the room location map online to ensure you get a room with an oceanfront view. If you can't, the private stairs to the beach is the next best thing. Bring your food and drinks and spend as much time here at your room that you can. We were able to sit on the patio with our food and watch the sunset for dinner. Its a beautiful spot.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in the "Oregon room" and it was just darling. The room/kitchen was clean and well stocked. We like the space because we had a kitchen and were able to bring our own food to grill. We had brought our own little grill but forgot to bring the tools to set it up. The owners let us use their grill and made pleasant conversation while we did so. We'll be back again for stormy coast nights sitting by the fireplace.

I am sorry to say, but this did not live up to my expectations. The pictures show better than the experience. We stayed two nights in the nostalgia room. Some very good art work with the wall graphics, but that is where the quaint atmosphere ends. Cracked tiles in the bathroom and veneer that is coming off the door that swings open on its own and sticks to the floor when it gets there. We stayed two nights as I have said and no update to freshen up towels and restock the fireplace. Also the curtains didn't offer the best privacy. For the money, it just fell short. Nice ocean view from our room though.

Pros: We had a nice spacious 3rd floor room with a great view of the beach. The hotel has nice amenities like great toiletries that smell lovely, nice robe and a balcony plus a fireplace. Shower had 3 separate water nozzles which was fun! (Although took a minute to figure out how to use) Heated infinity Jacuzzi pool was wonderful! Fire pits near the pool also great! The front desk people were all very nice. The place was clean and they had cookies in the lobby that we tried one day (yum!) Cons: I was disappointed that they apparently did away with the made to order breakfast that they have pictured in their website. Instead of the items pictured was a Continental breakfast delivered in little plastic containers in a box. It was not bad taste wise, and I definitely appreciated the hard boiled egg as a bit of protein along with all the carbs. But it would have been nice to know of this change before booking. Price is fairly high for the cold month of March. We asked about the sofa bed getting set up for our 3rd person in the room and were told we needed to make it ourselves. For the price we paid it would have been nice that they could have sent someone to set up the sofabed, that was weird, and unexpected. Kind of felt like something a much lower end hotel would ask you to do. I debated between 3 and 4 stars since there were both good and bad points. If there was a 3.5 stars option this is what i'd choose honestly. I'd come back again but only if I got a much better rate.

Even Orlando Disney resorts don't charge that exorbitant VAT/tourist taxes/fees that Newport Oregon does. The clerk that checked me in didn't bother to explain any of the hotel amenities. Had there not been another family checking in at the same time, I wouldn't have known what any of them were. I felt unwelcome. The silverfish in the bathroom is why the cleaning crew gets bad points. The rest of the low ratings are due to the run down condition of the venue, and the $400 5-star price.

There…read morewere seven of us, and we stayed in House 134, the four-bedroom, 1.5-bath rental across the street from the hotel. The biggest positive was the location. The ocean views from the living room and the primary bedroom are absolutely beautiful and were one of the highlights of our stay. There were, however, a few things I wish had been disclosed on the website before booking. First, housekeeping is not provided for the rental homes, regardless of the length of your stay. This also means toiletries are not restocked. By the middle of the week, we ended up purchasing our own supplies. This may be standard for some vacation rentals, but it would have been helpful to know ahead of time since it's different from what many guests expect at a hotel. The biggest issue for our family was the layout of the home. There are three to four steps leading down into the primary bedroom, and there is no handrail. My elderly in-laws stayed in that room and had difficulty navigating the stairs. I think this is important information for anyone with mobility concerns. The primary bedroom also does not have an attached bathroom. The half bath is located off the laundry room near the kitchen, on the opposite side of the house, while the full bathroom is in the hallway. For older guests, a few simple safety features like grab bars and a non-slip surface in the bathroom would make a significant difference. I'm not expecting a fully ADA-compliant rental, but some basic accessibility considerations would go a long way. One thing the photos don't really capture is the scale of the furnishings. The home photographs beautifully, and the décor is very stylish, but it felt more like a staged model home than a place designed for a week-long stay. The living room had a very small, low three-person sofa and decorative accent chairs that looked nice but weren't particularly comfortable for relaxing as a larger family. The three smaller bedrooms would also benefit from having dressers or additional storage for guests staying more than a night or two. The kitchen was clean and attractive, but if you plan on cooking most of your meals--as many families do when renting a home--it could use a better selection of cookware. We found the knives, pots, and pans to be fairly limited for preparing meals. Overall, we enjoyed the beautiful views and convenient location, but I think providing more detailed information about the home's layout, amenities, and accessibility would help future guests decide whether it's the right fit for their needs.

We had a reservation mishap with a different hotel in Lincoln City and suddenly found ourselves needing a room at the last second on one of the busiest weekends of the year. Somehow, the Elizabeth was able to accommodate us, and we couldn't have been more grateful. From the moment we arrived, the hotel had such a comfortable and cozy feel. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and inviting, and it immediately felt like a place where we could relax. The fire pit is a great touch, especially on a cool Oregon Coast evening, and having a pool gives families another option when they're not out exploring. The location is another huge plus.
