Our old groomer left the island, so this place was recommended by a husband's coworker who sent me the groomer's Facebook page. I sent a message and she was on vacation, but was super responsive and nice to answer me while she was out and even schedule my pup for an appointment! SUPER NICE of her! Until she wasn't. The day of our appointment came, and of course as it happens I got caught up finishing some emails at work and then realized that 20 mins had passed after our grooming appointment. I messaged the shop immediately after I realized my time had passed and this was our exchange ( photos below). Now, while I COMPLETELY understand how irritating it is to have your time wasted by a no show (been there!), I do not agree with her attitude on the messages. First, by wanting to charge a $65 no show fee (doctors and hairdressers are about $25- and also was a policy I couldn't find anywhere stated on her FB page at the time) just so that I could even be allowed to reschedule, it was obvious she was beyond pissed at my delay. Contacting her to apologize as SOON as I realized didn't even faze her. She kept going as you see below. These are screen grabs of our messages and in no way have been cropped, edited or altered. That was the entire exchange after I had to turn off messaging because she was still typing. Obviously will not be referring anyone here as yes, you may be great at what you do, but that is absolutely no excuse to speak to a customer like this. I have an aging bichon. It has been 3 weeks since her last appointment. She shaved her so tight she has razor burn. She is limping terribly from the treatment at this place. She is crying and I'm pain. I explained my dogs back and neck problems and twice jerked on her harness roughly. Pulling it off entirely. I asked her if I could step in and pick up my dog to stop her from further touching my dog. If I could file formal abuse charges I would. I'm shocked and sickened. Her response? She said "good luck finding another groomer that will better fit your needs". Hung up and blocked my texts. Anyone that is kind would better fit my needs. read more

I was looking for a new groomer so I thought I would Shea's Dog Grooming a chance. what a mistake. The place was dark and dirty, but I wanted to give her a chance. i dropped my dog off at 4:30 the time of his appointment and was told 2 hours. At 6:30 I returned there was a sign on the door that said If you have not received a text your dog is not ready. upon me knocking on the door a different women opened the door and said if you didn't get a text your dog is not ready. I asked how much longer and was told I am not sure maybe 30 minutes. went back to my truck with a bad feeling so I text her and said I was there and picking up my dog. when they opened the door they were handing me my dog telling me to not come back. when I got home. my dog went under the bed and did not come out until the next. day. DON'T take your dog here! The place is dirty. Not sure what the treatment of the animals is, but I've never seen my dog so upset, both before we went and again after. She cried all the way there and was shaking when I got her out of the car. She's been groomed many times before and has never acted like this. She was upset for over 24 hours. There is something very "off" about this place. read more

I am in the area vacationing with my family and on the morning of 4/1/21 we were standing on line for the bakery next to this woman's establishment. The line to the bakery was pretty long, unfortunately, our place in line at the moment one of her customer's was dropping her furry friend off for grooming, was right in front of this business establishment. The customer complained about us standing in front of the door and the business owner came out and yelled at my children and I; her hate could be felt as she yelled, "Get away from my door! This is my business! Get away from my door!" Like I tell my kids, many times it's not the message, it's the delivery of the message. read more

Shea has been taking care of our small Pekingese poodle mix, Murphy, for several years and we are so spoiled having her. She never leaves him looking chopped up and only delivers a picture perfect, happy pup every time we visit her. Shea's attitude is just horrific. I made an appointment and expressed my concerns with my 8 month old puppy about her socializing. I warned her and told her that the vet gave me sedatives for this reason. Shea said that she was a professional and she did NOT want m to give my dog any sedatives and I needed to get a new Vet. The day of my appt, I dropped off my puppy. An hour later, she texted me to pick her up b/c she could not handle her, that she tried and it wasn't working out and put her in a kennel. She said my dog was out of control and snapping at her and crapped all over herself. I picked her up and she handed her to me, and yes my puppy was smeared in "crap" and now I had it on my arms. Shea kinda just threw her at me and I asked for my puppies leash, collar and if she could possibly give me some wipes. Shea rolled her eyes, brought me my things and a paper towel because she said that's all she had and slammed the door. Shea has an attitude and no she is NOT an expert and very unprofessional. Shea has been grooming my basset hounds and my mom's for years. We were overjoyed when she returned to the Florida Keys after having briefly moved away. Shea does an excellent job bathing the dogs and getting their ears cleaned. She is very affordable and has the dogs done in a timely manner. Shea has been grooming our two bulldogs for a few years now. We have always been happy with the service she provides. Upon arrival she always stops what she's doing and re-introduces, familiarizes and plays with the "kids" to say hello. Our dogs are a bit spoiled (umm whose aren't) and Shea goes right along with the program. She truly loves animals and it shows. Shea is the BEST! My wife and I have a very skittish Australian shepherd that DID NOT take well to going to the groomer. Fortunately we found Shea several years ago when her shop was in a different location and decided to give it a shot. The first couple of visits Skyla was a nervous wreck as usual but with Shea's patience and love skyla really started to warm up to her! ( I'm sure the belly rubs and treats had something to do with it as well lol). We were devastated when Shea left the island after all the progress we made with Skyla, she went from not wanting anything to do with a groomer, to practically pulling me down the street towards Shea's shop.
