    Onion bhaji

I remember this place from when I was younger but it's not the same as it used to be. Granted I went in very early for supper (around 4pm) but there was no one else there so not much ambiance. The staff were friendly and I didn't feel uncomfortable being the only person there. I feel bad writing a negative review because the owner/manager I spoke with throughout my meal was very nice but I felt it was bait and switch with their discounts. They still have their 50% off food on Tuesdays offer but told me I had to order more food to get the deal. I'm only one little person and don't really eat rice/bread so I found that a bit annoying and it doesn't say anywhere that you have to order 2 entrees. It clearly says "two courses" on their site, which I did (starter and main) before being told I had to add another side. That's just too much food for me. I'd understand if it was busy but I was the only person in there so you'd think they'd appreciate having a customer at all. The curry was nice and tasted like a korma (I'm sure they just swirled mango purée through the korma sauce to be honest) but I enjoyed it. The onion bhaji were a miss for me. A bit greasy and not as crunchy as I like them. The garlic naan was also bad and the bottom piece was very soggy. I didn't like that I felt pressured to order it when I didn't enjoy it. It tasted as though the bhaji and naan had been microwaved if I'm being honest. Nice staff but I hate feeling pressured into ordering food that I don't enjoy and then goes to waste. I wouldn't go back again or recommend to others.

If you are looking for an authentic Indian experience here you may be disappointed. Though I only tried the chicken tiki, I can tell their recipe is tailored to non Indian taste buds. Having said that, I loved it. It's not the best chicken tiki I've had but this one has coconut bits and they made it sweeter which makes it rather delectable. I wish they use chicken thigh - dark meat, instead of breast. Though, they did a pretty good job on the breast. Not too dry but it'll never going to be as tender as thighs. The garlic naan was the best I've had. You can taste the crushed garlic and herbs. Well done!

As what they say good in London is a blunt, so if you want some tasty go and eat some Indian food. We got in the host greet us right away, we got a table and server put water and give us Menu , all the starter was really good and the main course it's was delicious! Come and try there food and let's hear about your experience... cheers

Were told by friends & fam that if you want the best curry in London then get to Brick Lane which did not disappoint. We chose Sheba but you can't go wrong on the street. The curry, vindaloo and tikka masala were all perfect. The only downside is I wished we picked a place with better ambiance.

There are a lot of spots on Brick Lane. But most have a hawker out front trying to get you in the door. Not Sheba. They know they are great and the place is always packed. Go when you are in the area!

Having already eaten at several of the Brick Lane curry houses it was interesting to find out that this was one of the originals, established in 1974.

So we did some research. Somewhere along the line we found Meraz written up as one of the 12 best Indian restaurants in England. Okay, so we trek over to the East End (pretty wild neighborhood that we enjoyed) for dinner at Meraz. My husband was disappointed not to find a particular dish on the menu, but the waiter didn't hesitate to offer to have the kitchen whip it up special for him. My husband also went a little wild ordering all sorts of appetizers and side dishes. Now I don't like to deal in hyperbole. A five star rating should be sufficient praise. But I'm going to go overboard just this once: BEST INDIAN FOOD I'VE EVER EATEN IN A RESTAURANT. EVER. I've eaten in Indian restaurants at home in Chicago, in L.A., New York, St.Louis, Atlanta, San Francisco, etc., etc. etc. Many have been good, but none approached this. We ate every scrap of all the food we ordered, and only because we had a tight timeline and a busy itinerary for our brief visit to London did we not go back for at least a second meal.

Also ordered chicken curry, chicken korma, lamb tikka biryani, garlic naan...all very tasty. Mango lassi was great too, one of the best I've had. My husband, I and our two sons thought it was very good. Our 11 year old is pretty picky and gave it a 10/10. The service was great too! Highly recommend.

We started with a couple of beers and samosas (not pictured because hunger). Can't go wrong with any of the beers as they're all pretty light. The samosas were super crunchy and the sauce had a nice kick to it as well. For the entrée, we ordered the lamb curry, butter chicken, naan, and a side of rice. The lamb curry was out of this world delicious, but the butter chicken wasn't our favorite. It was quite velvety, a little too much for our liking, but the chicken in there was delicious. I just like to dip the naan in the sauces and it was too rich for that. But the lamb curry was outstanding and definitely scraped the sauce out with the naan (which was also amazing). We ordered one rice to split between the two dishes which was enough for us, but if you're super hungry you may want to order two. The servers were very attentive, however we were the only people in the restaurant at 3pm on a Tuesday. There was a little bit of a language barrier at first but everything was sorted with no problems. The restaurant is authentic and the food is delicious, and bonus that it's all at a great price point!
