I called Brian on a Friday, about a 22 year old clothes dryer those drum stopped turning. I had already called the company I bought it from with the response that the manufacturer no longer made it and parts were not available. Brian asked me to text him my name, address, and dryer model number and he would get back to me. Surprise!! Our washing machine broke 3 weeks ago. After checking out Angie's List and Yelp, I decided to call Sheehan's Appliance that Friday. I left a detailed message specifying the error code we received on our Whirlpool machine. Brian called back 2 days later and asked for more information about the machine. He said he could swing by the next day between 11 and 1. Great. At 12:54 the next day, I received a phone call from Brian to let me know he was running late. He would be at my house in an hour. No problem I said. He arrived as stated, looked a little worn out, and gave me the impression that he'd rather be someplace else. Awkward. I took him downstairs to our basement. Apparently some water had collected inside the washer overnight. He said, "Well I see what the problem is. That just needs to be drained out." I held my tongue. Brian pushed the Drain/Spin button. While the water was draining out, he said, "Yep. That should do it. It'll work now." I held my tongue a second time. Thought to myself, do you think I called just for you to drain this water out of our washer??? F06 error code lit up. Washer would not start. After less than 10 minutes in my house, Brian was ready to leave. He said it probably needed a new motor replacement, "The parts will be expensive. You're better off buying a new machine. That's gonna be $75 for the visit by the way." The machine is less than 5 years old, I said. "Well I'll look into those parts for you, and give you an estimate. But it's probably better to just buy a new washer. I'll call you. Probably tonight. I'll leave a message." Great...thank you. A week went by. No callback from Brian. I emailed him. Inquired about the motor replacement, gave him my phone number again, waited for another week, and still NOTHING. A message to Brian: Hey it's been over 3 weeks, Brian. You never call. We are very lucky that we found Brian. Brian is awesome!I He is very responsive. It went to voice message the first time I called but he called back within an hour. We were able to schedule an appointment the next day! He gave us a call 30 mins before he arrived and was on time. We needed the help to install the gas dryer because it took "Home depot" forever to install it and failed eventually.... (never go to "home depot" to buy appliance!!!) We called a few appliance services and non of them can help us because of the narrow space we have in the laundry room. It drove us crazy...Our laundry room is small and a specific tool is needed to install the gas dryer. Brian did not have the tool with him but went to the store and buy it. I found Sheehan's Appliance Service on Servicemagic, to install a dishwasher I was buying from Sears Outlet.. He responded within 2 minutes of my clicking on his name (! at 8pm, no less) on Tuesday, and set up an appointment for Thursday from 10-noon. I chose him because he had good ratings on Angie's List. He said he could remove and dispose of the old d/w, and install the new one for $179, including everything. He told me not to bother picking up the "universal hose kit" from Sears, as he had everything he would need on his truck. Brian called at 11:00 to say he was running late, and arrived at 11:45, so juuust made the original window, but did come when he said he would. He was just great. It took a lot of time, effort, and maneuvering to remove the old dishwasher (prior owner had installed vinyl flooring after the d/w was already in, so there was a 1/4-1/2" lip to get past). He not only installed the new dishwasher and removed/ disposed of the old one, he also helped me remove the old tape gunk from the sears outlet store (his idea), then touched up the scratch that he did not cause that I found lurking under the tape. Wow. He charged what he said he would. All the work was neatly done. The wood veneer composite floor was unmarred (yeah, I know it's a stupid thing to have in a kitchen, but it was intended as a temporary solution until we do the remodeling which will not be occurring during our occupancy, and it looks a whole lot better than that old vinyl floor). As a comparison, Sears charges $230 plus $11 for the hose, plus $10 for disposal. This does include delivery ($70), but I was told they would not discount if I brought the unit home myself (in fact, the salesperson said they would not install it if they didn't also do the delivery); the 24" d/w fit nicely into the back of a Subaru Forester. The Sears Outlet in Fall River, where I purchased it, said it would be $149 for installation, but the salesman started backpedaling when I said, "Great! The regular Sears charges $230!" and told me well it actually might end up being $230, so I shouldn't be surprised if that's how it rings up when I actually make the purchase. Huh. I would definitely recommend Brian Sheehan, and I plan to use him again if I need anything else installed or repaired. read more

Brian installed a replacement dishwasher for us in the past and did the job professionally, including a tricky wooden door insert. He recently came out on a Saturday when our oven was not heating. Two appliance stores I had called had a wait time to come out to look at the oven of 7-10 days. He tested the oven and found it was the thermostat. I ordered a replacement thermostat online and let him know when it came in so he could install it. I was having problems with my French Door Kenmore Elite refrigerator, which is made by LG. I chose Sheehan's since the reviews were good, and Brian said he works on LG all the time. He phoned and said he was going to be late. Then where he arrived, he took off a back panel, and said it can not be repaired, since he thought it was leaking gas. This diagnosis took all of 10. Minutes. He said it is not possible to determine where the gas was leaking from. The appliance is 6 years old, looks like, new, and cost early $3000. How can an informed appliance repair person make that kind of determination that the customer needs to discard a $3000 appliance in a total of 15 minutes! I would not recommend him to anyone. And it cost me $75 to get this recommendation. read more

He provided his cell and we communicated by phone and text to coordinate uninstall of existing appliances and installs of the new appliances. He did the thinking for us. Making sure we were ready to receive deliveries and have our old appliances hauled away. To say we had a few snags with the big name store we purchased our appliances from would be an understatement. Between receiving appliances on different days unexpectedly and being provided an incorrect ice maker and then a correct but damaged ice maker Brian had to come back several times to complete his work. Through it all he was incredibly flexible and professional. AND even though he had to come 4 different days to complete the job he didn't even increase his prices.
