I got the crispy chicken wrap and curly fries and they were both SOO good. They're super small so I got 2 of them. They were great!!! I did a mobile order and pulled up to tell them I was there. Sheetz used to be a great option for a last minute cheap dinner option. After visiting the Ruckersville location recently, I now know why we go to Wawa more often. 3 members of my family ordered burrito bowls and were pretty excited to try them for the first time until we received the meal. For $10.60, I was expecting a pretty decent size meal. That was far from the case. Instead we received a kids meal. I like to get my money's worth when I'm ordering food and that did not happen with this item. I returned it and after paying with my card I was refunded in cash which was irritating but I let it go. One thing I'll never argue about is the quantity of the item I'm receiving when I'm paying with my hard earned money. read more

This Sheetz used to be pretty good. Now, remodeled in order to make room for a drive though, there are fewer pumps, less space between the pumps (you have to be careful not to bump into anybody, literally, human bodies) and less space to get in and out of the parking lot due to the crowded pump situation. We started going to Sheetz over 30 years ago for the good gas prices. Then, yes, the food was handy for busy always-working-overtime people with kids. Now their focus is on the junk food, not the gas convenience. The several times we tried to go back after the remodel, we were stuck waiting because cars waiting for the gas pumps were blocking the throughways, and the cars parked between the pumps and the store could not even back out. After a few times we reminded ourselves to not go there again, which, sadly, represents the end of an era using what used to be our favorite and most-visited Sheetz. BTW, when they put in those annoying coffee machines, what happened to the awesome lady who used to make the coffee every morning? A treasure gone. No more packets of sweeteners. You have to put your cup under a spout that spits an uncontrollable amount into your cup. Solution: take another cup and have it spit into that cup, then take a spoon and dig out what you really want. No portability of sweeteners either, should you be getting several at one time. We do Wawa now, when we have that option. read more

The new layout is impressive, very modern, but I was shocked because the bathrooms have NO DOORS ! Anyone can just walk in and watch you go to the bathroom ( well-Almost ! ) I used it anyway, quickly, but only because I was dying to do so. read more

This Sheetz was much improved from my last visit here. I have grown to expect slow food preps and long lines. Even with one cashier the service was fast enough that no line developed and my food was ready as I paid. I look forward to updating this review after my next visit and hopefully it will be another positive experience and I'll feel confident enough to give this establishment more stars. read more

Sheetz is great in general. I live about a mile from this location and stop by often to get gas or a milkshake. While it would be hard to give a gas station a five star rating I definitely took another star off due to the employees attitudes. There might be a couple that have a pleasant demeanor but most of them act like your bothering them. Not the only place with this problem for sure but Sheetz pays pretty well for this type of work and should have higher standards. read more

I stop at Sheetz for one reason: Cappuccino. More often than not, the Cappuccino machine at this store is out of service, or pours merely hot water. I never experience this dilemma at the Madison Sheetz. As for Ruckersville, that is a far different story. Whenever I bring it up to the cashier, they just laugh it off as if they couldn't care less. It's your reliable normal Sheetz - nothing spectacular but nothing wrong either. I'm from Pennsylvania and grew up on a steady diet of Sheetz everything. This location, just outside of Charlottesville along Route 29, isn't remarkable in any way but that's not a bad thing. Walking into this Sheetz is just like every other Sheetz. They do sell some local Charlottesville beer/cider here, which is always a plus. Plenty of gas pumps, which keeps it from getting too crowded. If you've never had Sheetz food, you're missing out. Not because the food is delicious (Wawa has the best MTO hoagies of all gas station chains) but because it's all fried and bad for you, absolutely perfect for those long road trips. Fried Mac & Cheese, cheesesteaks, a chicken po boy sandwich, sheetza pizza, etc. If you eat here every day you'll be dead or obese by the end of the week. Ultimately, Wawa is the woman you take home to mom and Sheetz is that trashy girl you see only on the weekends late at night. read more

Most everyone knows Sheetz and knows what to expect - clean store and restroom, standard convenience store fare, a nice selection of MTO food available 24 hours, and cheap gas. I didn't get any MTO here but I did notice a couple of things that were unique to this Sheetz. Being close to Charlottesville, they featured local brews with a "Buy Local, Drink Fresh" display that featured Starr Hill and Devils Backbone brews. (Including their fall seasonals - Boxcar Pumpkin Porter and Ichibod Crandall Pumpkin respectively) Second, having a bit of a sweet tooth, I picked up a bag of chocolate and peanut butter covered rice crispy treats. So wrong, so bad for you, so so good. Like any other Sheetz, it's always a welcome sight to the weary traveler needing a restroom, drinks, or tasty snacks. read more

Imagine a gas station out in the middle of the woods with eight different pots of coffee and an instant cappuccino machine that makes 13 different simulated Starbucks latte flavors. That's pretty much what you have here. It's got a nice shiny exterior, but when it comes to the quality, it's still service station coffee and junk food. This is a pretty standard affair for Sheetz. Clean place, friendly staff, decent MTO food. I guess I'm kind of biased, though, because I grew up in NJ, and I'm a big fan of Wawa. Don't get me wrong, I've had something like 8 years in central Virginia with only Sheetz around as anything comparable, so I've had time to compare the two. Wawa just blows it away. I'm giving it 4 stars because they're not as good as Wawa (especially in their MTO food), but they do a good job in comparison to the convenience store choices around that they directly compete with geographically in central VA. So they're good, but they're lucky Wawa hasn't come creeping down Rt. 29 South of Gainesville. read more
