We sat on the porch by the scenic Bradenton River appreciating a lovely breeze and live entertainment, and everyone enjoyed relaxed comradery and stories from the day. Part of the appeal. For starters we had Alligator Chowder. We were disappointed as the bowl seemed to only have 1 piece of alligator. Yet it was flavorful and delicious. DH ordered the brisket with nachos. A hit, but too many nachos for him. I had the Linger Burger. Fantastic. I can see why folks love it. The side of fries were delicious too. Looking forward to coming back & trying other menu items.

This was one of the friendliest private RV Parks we have ever been to. The spaces are spaced out enough, the place is spotless, the pool, laundry, pickle ball, clubhouse, shuffle board, corn hole are all well kept. We enjoyed our walks down to the boat ramp for sunsets where you can launch your boats, kayaks or canoes. There is also a small shaded dog park down by the boat launch area for our fur babies to enjoy. We met so many friendly people here who made us feel like forever friends from day one! We loved that if you do extended stays here people kept their sites looking beautiful with lovely plants, etc. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are very accommodating! We will be sure to visit again if we ever are in need of an extended stay and highly recommend this gem!

You can set up camp, ride mountain bike and Equestrian trails or hiking in CRP. For mountain bike and equestrian trails, go to Parking Lot #3 known as North Park Entrance. For hiking, go to Parking lot #2 or Main Park Entrance. For camping go to Parking Lot #1 or Campground Entrance! You must register for camping and have a campsite assigned to you or your group! BBQ pits and benches are available. There is a lodge with a kitchen and ice machine that can accommodate up to 80-100 participants. Before you go to CRP, make sure you call and plan out your activity ahead. Some trials may not be available in the raining season. Check your mountain bike to ensure they are in excellent working condition as there is an advanced or more difficult biking trials. No dogs or alcohol are allowed in the park! Caloosahatchee Regional Park is a hidden gem in Lee County! Bring plenty of water and enjoy the nature, hiking or camping!

The downside is if you want to do laundry it requires actual quarters. We didn't do any. We enjoyed the area and Punto Gordo area is very nice and quaint. It's being built up and eventually will get over crowded but for now enjoy the small town feel overlooking the bay. Plenty of places to eat and still close enough to Ft Myers n any beaches you may want to visit. About 45 minutes out. Depending upon traffic n tine of day. Lots of artist n musicians tend to come to Ft Myers n other cities along the coast. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Side note the whole area does not have cellular tower so internet is either slow or you're in a dead zone. Even with Starlink we were able still work remotely and watch streaming shows. Just depends on how cloudy the day is.

Good email communication from Sarasota County. Gated. This is a very tiny campground so it's difficult to get a reservation unfortunately. There's a size limit on the campers as it is fairly tight getting into your site. You must pack your patience when coming in and going out due to there being only one single road with the sites situated on each side of the road. Your vehicle is a tight fit as well. Tents welcome. Safe for kids. Bathhouse used to be available and it was quite nice but they had to remove it after hurricane damage. Now there are bath/shower trailers. There's a very lovely park next door with a new playground, kayak rentals and a boat ramp.

US Army Corps of Engineers constructed the W.P. Franklin Dam to regulate the water flow from Lake…read moreOkeechobee along the Caloosahatchee River. On the river's South side, they created W. P. Franklin Recreational Park with volleyball court, picnic tables, boat ramp, playground and an observation area over the dam and a Project exhibit office. On the river's North side, they created a campground on an island with RV/tent sites, electric hook up, water hook up, fishing pier, shower/restroom, Picnic shelters, grills and boat ramp. There are only 30 lots available so you have to book your reservation early. A quick drive in the campground shows us that this is a small and clean facility with friendly staff. Two words to describe this facility, "Well Run" The river view overlooking the W. P. Franklin Dam is calm and spectacular. It is secluded and quiet but only 30 minutes to Downtown Fort Myers. One bad news, you can only stay no more than 2 weeks but the rental fee at very reasonable rate of $30 per night! Thank You, Army Corps of Engineers!
