    Smoked St Louis style ribs

I had heard of this place but went for the first time. It's a cool spot, def a lodge feel. I really went just to check out mainly how the place was decorated and see what all the talk was about. I was pleasantly surprised at the menu and the quality of the food. I ended up getting the smoked ribs which were very very good. BBQ smoked sliders were also good. Had a piece of peanut butter pie for dessert. It was great but was taken back by the $10 price. We had 2 meals , 2 beers, an appetizer and the pie and the bill was about $80. It surprised me a bit. Will we be back ? Yes Service was great and the folks were very friendly

Linger Lodge is truly a hidden gem in Bradenton, Florida. The rustic camp-like feel and the smokey scent of campfire cooking was like going back in time to our days of summer camping retreats. But instead of a taxidermy of an elk or moose greeting us as we entered the restaurant, a huge alligator hanging on the wall in the main foyer continued to set the retro tone of old Florida, wild and fun. The hostess then seated us on a patio overlooking a private small lake surrounded by a green jungle of lush palms and native foliage. The ambiance was perfect for the cuisine we were about to eat, Cajun and creole. Luckily, as first time guests at the lodge, we were graced with an awesome waitress named Faye. I love it when a server is not afraid to make menu suggestions to new customers. For an appetizer, we started with a favorite dish from my childhood, fried green tomatoes, yum! Fay then recommended that we try the Braden River Platter to experience the flavors and textures of catfish, frog legs, and alligator. The platter was paired with a selection of sauces of which the roasted red pepper sauce added just the spice I was looking for. In addition, I ordered a crab salad, and Linger's homemade lemon mango dressing was excellent! When it was time to go, I felt as if we were leaving an old friend as Faye treated us with such hospitality. She loaded us up with our leftovers to go, and she even refilled our drinks to take along. As for my husband, a connoisseur of coleslaw, he wasn't leaving without ordering a second helping of the side dish for lunch the next day. It was truly the best he ever tasted. Discovering Linger Lodge at the "end" of our snowbird vacation is my only regret. However, you can be sure it will be at the top of our list for dining destinations next year when we return.

AMAZING Florida Cracker style food! You can't find many restaurants carrying on traditional old school Florida country style food but this place is Historic in its food and decor! Everyone is like family and treats customers the same. The Gumbo & Jambalaya is the ABSOLUTE BEST I've ever tasted and I have eaten in Louisiana for decades! All the Fried food is sinfully delicious! Fantastic, Friendly Service! Browse the pictures and make your plans to visit Old Florida and this hidden gem! Highly Recommended!!

Loved everything! Went kayaking right at the launch and then had lunch here. The hush puppies were the best I've ever had - light, flavorful and a nice crunch on the outside. We shared the fried sampler - alligator, FG tomatoes and the frog legs. Yummy. We also got the sampler meal grilled - the garlic lemon sauce fantastic! This came with catfish instead of tomatoes and two sides. Wow! I've never had collard greens so good. And the spiced apples - perfect. The ambience was just as good as the meal - forgot to add I had two beers it was all so perfect (I normally have one, if any). We ate on the screen in deck overlooking the water - lovely. It was neat to look at all the stuffed animals and I love my souvenir t-shirt!

    Lots of deer racks!

If you are looking for an exotic food to try, you should check this place out. You can try snake, snake, squirrel, gator, raccoon, sparrow, tortoise, etc. (See the menu in picture). I tried the special that day, Gator Ribs and I wished I ordered some things else. The meat is fishy and like a tough fish texture. I take the left over and put lot of chili, still can't eat it. The side dishes also not that good. But my friend ordered their burger and enjoyed it. They didn't allowed us to sit outside at first since we didn't make reservations but there were few tables open so when we asked the second time, they moved us. I'm glad we got to sit outside! The have lot of preserved animals inside, it's a bit depressing to see all the snakes around. They have live music outside and we're glad we could see the river as well. We went for lunch on Sunday and arrived at 12.15pm they weren't that busy but after we got our food, looks like almost all tables are full.

Sat out on the patio. The view of the river with the Spanish moss hanging in the trees really sets the tone. Gives old Florida vibes for sure. Lots of taxidermy animals inside the main restaurant area. Pretty cool looking critters. Our server was prompt, kept our drinks filled and had some great menu recommendations. I ordered the shrimp sizzler sautéed in their famous garlic herb butter sauce, with a side of the wasabi mashed potatoes and baked beans. The food had good flavor and was nice and warm when it came to the table. Definitely will be back.

We travel often for competitions and this by far has been the best place we've stayed at in Southern Florida. The community is well maintained as were the amenities. Having a cottage versus a hotel room was the best. The one bedroom was perfect for us (2 adults + toddler). Stores are close and convenient....and the best thing. NO DIRTY CLOTHES to bring home. There is a washer and dryer in the cottage as well. Love this property and so grateful we found it. Will highly recommend anyone book here as well we are already looking forward to a return trip.

Arbor Terrace claims they can accommodate 45' RVs, but it is simply just TOO tight, with unlevel lots you'll sink in. Go elsewhere! Campground employees asked us to move TWICE during our six-day stay... It was hard enough getting into the one spot we were already in, but the space they wanted us to move to was even tighter! We had to refuse moving, because we just would not have fit & would've hung up our rig. Next door neighbor told us big RVs get stuck in the lots fairly often here. It's a really nice park, overall: clean, quiet, friendly... but the infrastructure fits smaller sized campers, best.

But there are great stores and restaurants nearby for convenience. We stayed here 5 days September. We were in the pull-thrus right across from the lake. The lake is pretty with many water birds. We walk our dogs each night and it's 1 mile around and back to our site. * Everyone is very friendly! The office staff were super nice and helpful. * The park residents were nice and friendly and would wave when they drove or walked by. * Love the Scoop on Poop message handout they give us in the packet at checkin. This message needs to be given out everywhere so to educate all pet owners to "Pick It Up"! * This park is very close to restaurants, beaches and a few botanical gardens. We definitely like coming here and will be back soon. We recommend this park! Just a few negatives we noticed: * The grass/weeds around our site and other areas we high and our small dogs had a hard time walking on it and also peeing... Funny thing though; they were cutting the grass the day we left. I honestly think the grass was high due to the previous big storm that came through the week prior and dumped a lot of rain. Understandable the grass was high! * There was an old Rv close to us that really needed to be condemned. People would come and go from it during the day. Don't think there was any power in there. I heard someone say they are trying to get it removed.... Hope they do. * When we walked around the park we would smell Marijuana at a few sections, very strong and was almost nauseating. * Could hear some of the road noise traffic from I-75. It effected my wife for than me at night while trying to go to sleep. We just turned our White-noise on a little louder to help with the noise. * Mosquitoes were bad in the morning and then again at night just before sunset (it's a Florida thing). We are from Florida and deal with mosquitoes a lot but in this area where our site was they seemed to be a lot more. We were in the back section next to the wetlands (site 1123 through 1093).
