I suggest coming across the street to Shell where there are charge points, both level 2 and level 3 often available and even a bit of shade." I had a similar problem at an EVGO in Sacramento and I think they're just finicky. Chargepoint way better Pro tip? come across the street to the Shell station where there are both a level two and level three charger that are sometimes available. those chargers are a little cheaper as well. Went in to use the bathroom on our way up to Tahoe, absolutely disgusting. The lighting was awful, so I almost didn't see the sink. Once I looked, I was disgusted. Not sure who is in charge of cleaning the bathrooms, this gas station is shared with a subway. Health code violation all the way. There was even blood in the corner of the sink. read more

We bought milk and we was asking if we can heat up the milk that we bought from there for the baby and he said no. He was very agressive and was ready to hit my husband for just using the microwave. On my way back on 7/24 around 4pm I stopped by for a break. I used the restroom and accidentally I left my phone on the paper towel dispenser and I left. After hitting the 50 towards sac for 10 minutes I noticed my phone is not there and it hit me. Luckily my son was with me and I asked him to locate the station on the maps and call and once we reached the attendant I told him that I have left my phone in the bathroom and he was able to find it and secure it. I got back to the station after 20 minutes and he returned my phone. He asked me to unlock it to prove it's mine so I did. Very honest employee. I have lived in pollock pines my whole life. I grew up here and had friends work at this gas station most of my life or some one from the community all the locals knew. Now it's completely changed. Out of town people who don't speak English and smell absolutely terrible. Choosing to speak in a different language on a phone and completely ignoring customers on a reagular basis not to mention the absolute lack of sanitation in there facilities. This is not how to run a business. Expired items in the store. Terrible rude disrespectful behavior on numerous occasions. Hope the owner sees this and checks the Facebook. No one's happy. You're ruining one of the only little spots pollock pines has. Been coming here for 25 years. Won't see me or any locals I know here anytime soon. read more

Great stop along the way to or from Tahoe to gas up, go to the bathroom, get something from the gas station convenience store, or get a sandwich at the Subway store attached to it. It's nothing glamorous inside, but it's a gas station so what do you expect? OUTSIDE: Steps go up to a raised leveled area with picnic benches. From my photo you can see there are a lot of trees that provide shade and thus snow during the winter snow season. SHELL Gas Station, convenience store and Subway sandwich express shop. I was pleasantly surprised, so much so, I told my car companions to check out the inside and use the nice restroom. Stopped here on my way home to the Bay area from Lake Tahoe. Staff is always very nice, however they overcharge on some basic items. Bought the smallest fountain drink which I was expecting to be $.99 -$1.50, the price came out to $2.35! Almost double what everyone else charges. I got the drink anyways and as soon as I left and had a sip I realized the soda was flat and gross. read more

Subway attached as well, and when I went in, a fresh batch of cookies just came out of the oven and made the whole place smell amazing. The woman who works the graveyard shift is extremely rude. One night I was waiting for my direct deposit which doesn't occur until some time after midnight. I had been without money for 2-3 days and wanted a pack of cigarettes and a beer, which they sell. When the money was finally deposited around 1:40 a m. I walked across the street from Safeway (where I purchased other things) and there was a BRB sign on the door. I waited at least five minutes, maybe ten. First I bee lined toward the restroom then I was browsing the beer refrigerator. All I wanted was a 24 Oz beer, which they sell. Well, unexpectedly she starts rudely harping at me that she is not going to sell me any beer because it was after 2 am. I was surprised time had passed that fast, and I said, politely, it's not 2 am, and I started to unlock my phone to check the time. Then she continues on with her rude harping and says, I don't care what time your phone says! Then she hit a button on the cash register and pulls out a receipt and says triumphantly, "It's 2:02!!!" Trying to buy a pack of cigarettes was another hassle which I won't get into. I recently talked to a guy whose girlfriend had abandoned him in their vehicle leaving him stranded. He went into the store to buy a pack of cigarettes and came outside to smoke one. After a few minutes this same employee also came outside to smoke and ordered him to leave because "he was loitering and she was afraid." Well maybe she shouldn't be working the graveyard yard shift, ya think??? Super rude. I've been giving them business as a local for 20 years. Never again. read more

Heaven is a place on earth. And it's called Crystal View station. If you ever happen to be in the heinous situation of heading up to Tahoe and highway 50 is a mess (because somehow the plows haven't graced 50 with their presence) and *everyone* on the road appears to be an international student driving a rental car with no insurance right after having cataract surgery then you KNOW Crystal View. They have tow trucks. They have chains. They have a portable heater in the office and an air tight door. They have "T" - god's gift to motorists (or at least that's the way you feel when you find out that your car is impounded and the nearest car rental place is 20 miles away and closes in 10 minutes and T offers to drive you down there in his wife's car. I've never wanted to gush over a wrecker so bad in my entire life!) In a situation that is turbulent and fraught with emotion, Crystal View provides that perfect bear hug that says "everything is going to be O.K." read more

Crystal View has been our hometown station for the past 12 years, and we have nothing but praise for the friendly staff, clean and bright facility, and "quick stop" shopping choices. Even though our rural location sometimes necessitates slightly higher prices, this "package deal" has led us to frequent the station for our gas purchases. In fact, it's a must to stop at the station whenever we're headed "down the hill" for appointments, visits, or longer trips. After all, we not only need gas, my husband has to have his flavored coffee, and I want my Necco wafers! As an added outside attraction for nonlocals, there's umbrella-covered patio seating during warm weather, as well as a few picnic tables under the surrounding pines and cedars. Best of all, there's an unobstructed view of the Sierras that's so spectacular, I go there to take photos, even in the snow-covered dead of winter! All in all, Crystal View is a great operation in an awesome location. You should give it a try when you're in the area! read more

As a woman, it's difficult enough to try and effectively describe what's wrong with my vehicle and the service I'm requesting.
