It has a large corner lot, yet the pumps are all in one tight corner.....very close to the entrance for the car wash. It's Sept 5, 2024, and the gas prices are average at $4.89/ Reg. The Shell gas card gave me a 5 cent discount. You want high gas prices? Go to Lafayette, last week I saw $5.99/REG at a Shell Station. I went inside the food mart to look at the snack selection. The place is kinda musty and seems unclean. Not much of a candy selection. Mostly king size for near $4 each. The cashier wasn't very talkative or friendly. Gas is good , car wash was good, the quality of the windshield cleaner was good , and it was a bit expensive for the gas and wash.

We'd been to Bella Roma Pizzeria and wanted a couple of drinks to take on the road to Watsonville. Upon entering, we saw that the fountain soda machine was not available. Whether it was a scheme or not, I wonder, but we ended up buying bottled drinks. The drinks were a bit expensive but just a bit. I purchased car wash that expired 1 day before and the clerk would not credit. I asked for this exception given I regularly purchase fuel and car washes for all 4 of my vehicles. No dice. I told him "For 8 bucks you're not going to make an exception?" "Nope." Ok. I guess that's how you do business Where you're from. Ok. I'll now be using the chevron at 1771 First st. Funny. It wouldn't even be one star if I had the choice. I literally just left this gas station. I paid for a VIP car wash, it did not prewash my tires/rims. It would not print me a receipt either. So after my wash I went to the window, told the man what happened and asked the guy for my receipt which seemed to be a huge ordeal for him. He didn't even care to talk about or understand the error of not having the actual wash. I let some lady go in front of me after finally receiving my receipt paper because the man still neglected to answer about the service. When I wen back to the window I had to restart the conversation because he acted like I was satisfied with just a piece of paper. My problem altogether was the service. the receipt was a non-issue. It's just an issue now because it was a struggle to get a receipt from this guy. I then got fed up with trying to explain myself to this man telling me that the car wash at the Shell station was a separate entity than the Shell station. It's literally part of the Shell station. I have been a part in the Livermore community since 1991. This guy is not gonna change my mind about it. When I asked for a managers phone number, it was a huge problem for him as well. He told me "just go look online." I then asked for the store number and he refused as well. I then took my phone out and took a picture of him and the receipt and he in return pulled his phone out and took a picture of me and my license plate which I presented to him like I was Vanna White. This guy is an embarrassment to service and if I ever see him again at any establishment I will leave and tell management why I'm leaving. read more

I visited this Shell Station at approximately 9:30 A.M. on July 24th, 2013. I walked inside and asked the attendant to put a cash amount on one of the service stations outside. When I returned to the station outside, I noticed that the attendant had left a dollar off the amount that I paid. I walked back inside and reminded him that I had given him another dollar. The attendant did not acknowledge me or the mistake. I walked back out to the station to see if the amount had been corrected. I could see the amount had not been corrected. Confused, I turned to walk back inside when the attendant walked out himself. He said something to me that I could not understand in a very harsh tone. He continued to speak to me but since I could not understand or get a word in, I decided to continue pumping gas into my vehicle since I was trying to get to work. The attendant followed me back to my vehicle and began to shout at me, still speaking incoherently. I asked him not to shout at me, and tried to explain that I was only trying to get to work. He continued to shout at me and he said, "You don't even know how to pump gas!" At this I felt very insulted. I informed him that I do in fact know how to pump gas, and that I wanted him to keep his distance. I was very upset at this treatment from the attendant. I felt like he was being very condescending and rude to me, especially at his comment that I "do not know how to pump gas." I also do not like that he followed me to my vehicle. I felt threatened, and his tone of voice and the fact that he yelled at me made me feel like I was being harassed. I do not appreciate being treated or made to feel this way. I was a regular customer with this Shell Station as it is located in a convenient location, between my home and work place. Now I do not feel comfortable visiting this Shell Station or any other Shell Station in the near future, and will be taking my business to the Arco Gas Station across the street. I hope that someone could review with the attendants and owner of this Shell Station about the missteps taken in this situation so as to avoid more like this in the future. read more

This place is so shady. You pay twenty cents more per gallon than all other local gas stations if you don't buy a car wash. Right now, gas there (for regular) is $3.35 a gallon with a car wash. I paid $3.39 per gallon at Safeway yesterday. The Shell on the corner of P and First is 3.41 a gallon. Both places don't require the purchase of any other product or service to get those prices, ie current market prices. If you don't buy a car wash, you're paying $3.59 a gallon. Thats more than anywhere in town right now. Honestly, when I first saw their new sign on my way to work a few weeks ago, with the two prices for each grade of gas, I thought it was each price for credit or cash payment. About their car wash. I meant to write a one star review about this last month. My boyfriend and I bought the premium car wash. The last step is the dryer. We noticed it didn't go on. When we got out of the car wash, we pulled back into the parking lot and got out of the car...it was dripping wet!! No point in getting a car wash. It wash 10:30 at night and 45 degrees out, plus we didn't have five towels in his car to dry it..definitely no point in paying for that car wash. We went in to tell the clerk. He didn't care. My boyfriend asked for a voucher to get his car re-washed once the dryer was fixed. He even told the guy to come look at his soaking wet car. The guy started to yell at us. I bought gas here on June 21 only because I suddenly noticed that my tank was almost empty. It is not my usual place to buy gas. I did not get a receipt because the printer on the gas pump was not working and I did not take the time to go inside to get a receipt because I was in a hurry to get to an appointment. On June 27, my credit card showed two fraudulent charges at Shell Oil in La Puente, CA, down south, and a preauthorization charge of $1 at an Exxon station in Southern California. There must be a skimmer attached to a pump at this station that gets credit card info and then it gets used in Southern California. read more

Worst gas station in Livermore! The drunk man who works there is incredibly rude. I have tried this gas station twice and never again! Their pumps don't work, the man who works there smells like cheap vodka . He charged my credit for gas.. I went to use the pump and it didn't work so I went inside to let him know. he hobbled outside and told me its broke..DUH!!! I asked for a refund. He hands me a stupid receipt that has NOTHING to do with my credit card and said it was canceled.. When I went on my credit card account it said the charge was pending.. Can I give zero or negative stars? Such a shoddy car wash and dishonest business. Sat in the car wash line 4 cars back and twenty minutes later didn't move up once. Went to get a refund for the wash and the attendant attempted to give me a refund on my debit card 3 or 4 times but it kept saying the transaction was declined each time. I repeatedly asked for cash instead but the attendant either feigning ignorance and English or just totally incompetent kept trying the card. Eventually he handed me a bogus receipt that said I had been refunded except the receipt stated it was a cash refund and cash I did not receive. Sure enough, checked my bank statement a few days later and no sign of a refund. read more

Beware! They advertise at the pump that you will receive a 20 cent discount per gallon/gas - WRONG! Yesterday we went there specifically to get a car wash, chose the car wash option but the prices didn't reflect the discount and my husband had to go in side to get the tag for the carwash (which usually comes out on the receipt at the pump). When he asked the clerk about the carwash issue, he just shrugged his shoulders and gave him a receipt for the carwash but could do nothing for the discount! This is stealing and misleading advertising. We will never get gas there again! read more

I tried to use my Lucky / Save Mart Fuel rewards card and it said that it was unavailable. I asked the clerk and he said the system is down and did point out I could get .20 off per gallon with a car wash. It turns out if you swipe your fuel rewards card and purchase a car wash, whether the system for the fuel rewards is working or not, you don't get the .20 off per gallon. It said on the sign that it cannot be used in addition with the fuel rewards. The system should detect whether fuel rewards were applied or not before determining eligibility. I didn't read the fine print on the sign. Car wash was OK. My car looked a lot better than it did before. Unless this place is the cheapest Shell without the car wash discount and upgrades their systems, I ain't going here again. The Shell on 1st and P street is way better. read more

There is some kind of scam going on at this gas station. The water-air station doesn't work. When you go inside to tell the guy, he asks you for a dollar. Then you go back out and the air still doesn't work. The guy asks you for another dollar. When you try to explain, he pretends he can't speak english, and maybe he can't -- but it sure seems like he understood enough to take my two dollars. I think it a little scam to make extra money. I feel like an idiot getting upset for a couple dollars, but I don't like being scammed. i will pay double for gas anywhere but this place. read more

Car wash did not function properly so I alerted the attendant who immediately told me it was my problem, and if I didn't like it to call police. This same person has been here for years and has always been sour with any interaction. I explained that I had been buying gas here for years, know how to drive through a car wash, and had no reason to go thru hassle of coming in to report malfunction other than to get it right. Paid for a $12 car wash and what we got was no under carriage wash, no wax, no cleaning of the tire etc. Told the older employee working last night that the car wash machine gave us an $8 car wash when we paid $12. Used the car wash. No soap came out. I went in and told the rude person behind the counter and he said there was soap in the machine. I told him no soap came out and he pretended to look out the window towards my car and said "it looks clean to me." This guy was rude, condescending, obviously did not give a damn that his carwash was not working. He spoke to me in a very challenging way so I just left. I am not usually a reviewer, but the experience at the Tri Valley Shell in Livermore was enough for me to say a few words. Do not give these people any of your hard earned money to this gas station. I noticed that one of my tires was really low on air so I went to the one the gas stations I usually get gas from. The Tri Valley station is close to my home so it is convenient for me to fuel up there. I went to fill air in my tire and there is a pay machine for the air and water. CA law says gas stations cannot charge for air or water and since I have purchased gas there before I figured it wouldn't be a problem. I went inside to ask for tokens for the air compressor, both men said I need to pay for gas if I wanted the "free air". I told them that they cannot charge for air or water and they said "you must pay for gas to get free air or water". I told them that I have purchased gas from them before on many occasions and they asked me to produce a receipt. Like I carry shell gas station receipts with me. My car didn't need gas at that time, it needed air. The two men behind the counter were as rude as can be and told me to buy gas or "no free air". This will be the last time I ever go to this gas station and it will be my mission to let everyone I know to avoid this gas station. Unfortunately I cannot give zero stars and am unwillingly giving one star. read more

This is just one man's experience, but I will never use this service station again. I had been a customer of this gas station regularly for over 25 years because it was close and convenient. About 5 years ago my debit card information was stolen and it has been stolen 7 times since that first occurrence. 3 of those occurrences in the last year alone. I use it for nearly all my purchases so I never knew who was stealing it or where it was being stolen from. About 6 months ago I pulled in to buy gas and the pump responded that my card was "Invalid" I tried several more times with the same result. I was in a hurry so I used my credit card to purchase gas and was on my way. I rarely use my credit card..mostly on vacations...and have never had anyone steal the information off of it. Less than one week later I received a call from my credit card company and yes it had been stolen and someone was on a $2,000.00 shopping spree in San Francisco. It has been 6 months since I have used this station and have had no problems with any of my cards. My recommendation is that no one use this service station, but if you must pay cash only. read more
