It's a combo gas station complex, which are common near major highways. This one is near I-880. On 12/20/22 at approximately 1250 hrs, I arrived at Shell Gas station (1944 Davis St, San Leandro CA) and found that pump#3 was not operating. I then went to all pumps and found that they were not operating. Staff (Carolina) stated she had no paper to post that pumps were not working and disregarded complaint. Terrible customer service. I advised Carolina that we should refrain from having people come up to her and advise the pumps were not working since she knew that they were not working this morning. She stated that the manager would be in tonight and someone could come and speak with him. I'm not sure where she received her customer training, but it definitely did not include problem solving. She even stated that she did not have the managers phone number. I was dumbfounded. I was clearly speaking with an idiot at this point. If you ever find yourself at this gas station, take it upon yourself to become an employee for 5 minutes since staff have no clue how to run a gas station. read more

Positives: Shell gas station & Costco & right next to a car wash with $7/$9/$11 rates. You can use cash or credit card - many times the credit part isn't functional so bring cash. I go here for the $7 one and my car comes out looking precious again, which is more than I can say for not washing the car...which is highly unrecommended. Fast wash too - I believe it takes about no more than 10 minutes. Negatives: try to avoid coming in the afternoon or weekends because of long lines. read more

Just wanted to let everyone know that my car got damaged when going through the car wash at the Gas Station. The car wash attendant mentioned that that they were experiencing issues and asked that their Manager would contact me. They did not want to share any insurance information. I called multiple times but the Manager kept deferring the issue and said someone would contact me to assist with the repairs. They never did. Horrible customer service. Went in against my better judgement for a car wash. I was left with a dent in my back up camera which now needs to be replaced to get rid of the blurry spot in the middle. Then as I got on the freeway my drivers mirror shakes so much I can barely see when I'm driving at freeway speeds. I doubt anyone checks these before they go and get a gas station car wash. Davis shell may be a dime higher than costco's finest but the lines are often long. when my gas tank's amber alert comes on, i found it prudent to buy some gas here and jet out to the freeway rather than wait 20 minutes in line at costco to save .50 cents to $1. my time is worth more than $4 an hour. read more

So a lot of people would think Costco gas station is much cheaper, but actually with the gas and car wash combo your getting a better bargain here. Of course it depends on how much gas you fill and which car wash you choose or if you even need a wash in the first place, me, I always needs my vehicle washed so I opt for this place. I'm not sure what kind of gas station doesn't have a public restroom... especially one that's off a major freeway! Maybe it's because the attached Burger King is under construction (still open via drive thru). I wasn't too fond of the lack of customer service when I arrived to the register. Even though I let the cashier know I was waiting for a tow within 10 minutes, she basically told me to F off and go to Walmart and use their restroom. Then continued talking in Spanish to another lady behind the counter. Greeeeeeat........ waiting for a tow, can't use the restroom. I've used the car wash a couple times. Can't say it's thorough, but these "touchless" ones usually aren't that great. I'd save your $10 and go to a hand car wash spot for less than $20! As for the gas prices, they are decent. Usually about 20-30 cents more than Costco right around the corner. I'd never choose to go to this Shell if Costco was open. And after this last experience, I wouldn't hesitate to head on over to the Chevron off Davis. Plus, Chevron has the Safeway rewards bonus to save me some money! read more

I used to come here buy a small item (pack of gum, bag of chips) and ask the attendant to turn on the air compressor, rather than go elsewhere and pay for air. Also got gas, though never a car wash. Recently there has been a huge uptick of panhandlers, both at the station and the adjoining Burger King. Today, as I was in line with a bag of chips, one such individual was loudly commenting about myself and other customers about how I "looked like [he] has money" and dropping n-bombs. I decided not to bother with air, and pulled out the moment I got back to my car. As I pulled away I got the stink eye from the guy who had followed me halfway to the air machine (he was following me, nothing near the machine besides a dumpster). About two weeks ago, I sucked down a Starbucks Venti Iced Skinny Vanilla Latte before hopping in my car to buy bulk toilet paper, forgetting, of course, that the restroom at Costco is like a scene out of Candyman. Seriously. There are swarms of bees and wasps and hornets and shit nesting in the toilets. And zombies with ulcerative colitis about to beat your ass down for a sample of spinach and artichoke dip. Well today I needed the works, gas, air and wash. Tried to do it on my way to work since I had a little bit of time and the convenience of this spot being off the freeway and a short drive to work. Gas is cheaper than normal and you get a slight discount when you opt for the car wash. After topping off I needed my receipt for the car wash code, had to go in since my receipt didn't dispense. Little downer but had to go in to turn on the air anyways. The attendant was very nice and gave me a car wash card, kinda weird since it's an automated wash. Still neat and got few extra stamps in the card, must have been my smile I guess. Once I went outside and went through the wash I guess I overshot my parking in the wash and had to back up. Now here's where the fun began, the light flashed fir me to back up, and in doing so it was supposed to clear out and activate. Maybe it's operator error but I never got my wash done at all. Even after backing in and out for several minutes. Being that I was in a time crunch I ended up driving off. What a bummer but I probably won't be back for a wash, just the gas. read more

I initially requested their basic wash for $8 but was told that level of wash was not available and only the upper two tiers of wash levels were available. So I chose the $10, middle tier wash. I literally washed my car here just last week for $8. I went through the carwash and noticed there was no soap dispensed as it had in a previous wash. I went to inquire with the attendant. He walked to my car, took pictures (without my permission), and told me they're "basically using a new clear soap that's like a wax". I replied that that should be something to tell customers so they know what's going on their cars. However, knowing he didn't really know what he was talking about, I pressed the issue for a refund. He said he was going to call his manager, who didn't answer. He told me to follow him back inside. I did. He spoke with his co-worker, first in English, then switched to Spanish. I didn't let on that I spoke Spanish because I was appalled that they just really didn't care. In Spanish, the co-worker said that the wash just isn't working and to sell what they could. The young man that was assisting me switched back to English to tell me to come back tomorrow to talk with the manager. I asked for her name - Erika. I had another issue with this gas station regarding a refund on a prepay for gas a few weeks ago with another card. I pre purchased $40 but only filled up at $34+. They told me I couldn't get a refund and to bring my receipt back for credit next time. My bank disputed and got the money returned. Granted these are minor amounts, it's the principle. Do not use the car wash kiosk to pay! You will not be provided a receipt. When I pulled forward to get the car wash, the machine did not activate and I didn't get a car wash. After a few minutes of sitting in the car, I parked and went inside the gas station. The cashier couldn't really understand anything I was saying, other then there was a problem with the car wash. She went to get another employee that proceeded to be extremely rude to me. H said, "Lady there is no proof you paid, and I tell everyone to come inside to pay". They refused to give me a car wash even though I paid with a credit card and I'm sure they could look it up. He then said that the Manager's number was on the front of the gas station. this shell station usually has a fairly low price in gas in comparison to other gas stations around the area. we usually fill our gas here. the gas station also has a burger king on location if you're into that. the costco right next to the shell has a gas station too, but we've noticed that costco gas is not very fuel efficient... so in the end it's not a good value, plus the lines are pretty long read more

Quite a bit of gas leaked when I picked up the handle to put in my vehicle. The premature spill is a bit annoying, but could be due to several causes, including some not the fault of the gas station. Still, not great for the environment, or shoes. Otherwise, gas station is fine. I'm going to rant about my FREE car wash that I earned but was DENIED after being a continuous customer here. We always get our gas here and purchase the car wash at the pump. We save our car wash receipts and turn them in after a certain amount for a free wash. I don't know their process when it comes to stamping or "signing off" my rewards card for my free car wash, but my card was initialed with dates. You would think that the guy who seems to work there 24/7 would have some kind of decision making when it comes to an $11 car wash, but he needed to ask the ghost manager who just happened to be on the phone when I asked for management. Yes, it's only a car wash, but I earned it, and he wouldn't give it to me because one of their employees initialed my rewards card instead of stamping it. This place needs better employees & needs to invest in a car wash machine that actually works. I enter the car wash line & see there are 4 cars in front of meWHAT THE PROBLEM IS, is that after waiting behind those cars the pay machine for the car wash does NOT accept my money. I tried 4 different bills, inserted it different times & it did not work. After waiting for at least 15-20mins for those 4 cars to wash who wants to wait again? Behind me were another 4 cars so I exited the car wash & go inside shell. I tell the lady the problem & ask for a discount because I waited for a service that was not working for me & it is very inconvenient to wait for no reason(basically).
