Went for car wash at 3:05 pm today. Car was covered with soap when I came out. Went inside to ask if I could go through again for a rinse. Attendant was very rude and said he needed receipt. Machine was out of paper and no receipt printed. While I was in there another man came in with the same problem and received same response. Advised attendant to put out of order sign on car wash but he refused. Will never go back here. Terrible service. read more

Would've been 3 for putting has in my tank but here's how it all went... The first two, not one.. TWO pumps I drove up to weren't taking my card... very annoying. I'm not going to go inside to see a cashier - nobody like doing that I also got a car wash... it cost MORE at THIS shell for a deluxe wash than it does at the Shell near the Chick-fil-A, innout, and 78 freeway-- and this Shell's deluxe wash literally lasted 10 seconds. There was so much soap on my car, and I thought to myself, wow this is gonna be a nice wash. But the RINSE was like 5 seconds and then it didn't even notify my to go toward the air at the end.. the air just started! Showed up at 10pm to this 24/7 store. Door locked, no sign. Woman inside is just sitting there doing nothing and shakes her head at me. Will never be coming back. I'll walk the extra 10 mins to 7/11 because they don't randomly break business hour laws. This is the second time this has happened to me at this location. Disappointed with experience. Went here before a show I was performing at and the PSI was off on all the pumps. Everyone was upset including me. The manager admitted it's been happening ALOT for months with no fix. Understandable things happen. BUT I had fuel rewards that was supposed to make it 90 cents off per gallon. Not only did I not get my tank filled but the manager did nothing to fix my issue. He gave me next to nothing for spending 30 minutes at the pump, I missed my show, and manager did not make things right. The manager did not care he just wanted me to leave basically and I lost my rewards discount in the process. Going to this shell made me lose money and time that I will never get back. Here I thought I'd be weird for rating a gas station, but more than 20 reviews before mine averaging at the 2 star rating I am leaving. I used to like this Shell station and it was 5 stars. In fact, when I would get low on gas, I'd still wait until i passed by this one to get gas. It was one of the cheapest in the area by 10-40 cents, and you could save 20-30 cents per gallon more with cash. And it might sound weird, but on several occasions, I have seen some of the most beautiful women I have ever seen anywhere pumping gas at this station. But before you get fantasies about Girls Gone Wild: Sexy Naked Gas Pumping Edition, let me get this review back on track. Suddenly, starting 2-3 months ago, it has really gone downhill. I don't know if there has been an ownership change or what. It is still slightly cheaper than most in the area, but not by much. You may save 10 cents per gallon if you're luck and pay cash, which now only gives about a nickel discount per gallon at this station. But more than anything, things are breaking down or something stupid happens almost every other time. Usually 2 or more pumps are taped off because they are broke and another one or two will be broke with a non-obvious sign you don;t see until you get out of your car. Or maybe it works but you have to pay inside for that one. But good luck because some times the person inside is taking a break (and we're talking about at a peak hour), so you can't go in and use that pump or save your 5 cents per gallon with cash or buy anything else. And then some times the pumps are all down (again, during peak hours). If you want a car wash, well that might be broke too. Now instead of the gorgeous ladies I would see from time to time, the clientele is getting more trashy too. We're talking about the kind of people that may make you avoid going to the average Walmart for an item you desperately need when you pass by. Think of some of those YouTube videos with the stereotypical Walmart patron on Black Friday and you'll understand a lot of the crowd who tends to go here now. read more

A gas station is a gas station to me. I'm in and out. But today, I decided to yelp about it. Apparently, there are 3 hoodlums (not really hoodlums) hanging around there and they offer to fix your windshield). Supposedly, they are working with Shell or some crap like that. Here's exactly what happened. I drove my husband's car to gas it up. It has a very visible crack on the passenger side front window. Ok, now that I've painted a picture...and for the record, I HATE being approached by random men at a gas station. It never has a good feeling to it. Hoodlum: Hi! Happy new year. Can I ask you a question? Me: *eyebrow raise* Hoodlum: Can I inspect your windshield for any nicks or damage to it? We're a company working with Shell to help you out. Me: No thanks. I'm good. Hoodlum: Are you sure? It's free. It won't take long. Me: No. I don't want you inspecting my car. Thank you. He backed off, but not for long. Hoodlum: *sees the crack on the window*- Can I ask you a question? Did this start as a small crack and then spread? Me: Yes Hoodlum: Well, California law states...blahblahblah. By now, I totally tuned him out because what he was stating was UNTRUE. I won't even list what crap this guy told me but it's not true. Me: I'm not interested. I don't want your services. Hoodlum: Well, I'm only trying to help. Me: No, you aren't. You are only trying to harass me. I've told you three times I don't want you inspecting my car or your services. I get gas here on occasion when passing through San Marcos. The location on the corner of Rancho Santa Fe and San Marcos Blvd is convenient for me when returning home (going south on RSF). I've used their car wash a couple times, too. It does about as good a job as those automatic car washes can do, but I have since switched to mostly hand washing my cars. I have noticed that this location is often one of the cheapest places to gas up in this part of town. read more

I went here for a car wash after buying it and the guy operating it comes up to my window when I'm trying to type in my code and I indicate him to step away as he has no mask on and he starts banging on my glass yelling receipt! I can see the spit on my window. I indicate and show him my receipt and he steps away I roll down the window to type in my code and he runs back at me and yells receipt! And spits in my face . I just left it was some Hispanic guy who had no regard for human life and was very rude. Once again don't come here they don't care about you or your health he literally stuck his head in my car through my window and spit on me yelling receipt completely ignoring social distancing. read more

The car wash is almost never operational. They don't put a cone in front of it consistently either so no visual indication to just keep driving. Gas here is relatively higher than other stations and the car wash was the only thing that drew me in. Been burned by no car wash enough times now that I'm just not coming back in future. read more

I was there and Natalie was working and i must say she is one of the most polite customer servise oriented people i have come across in a long time ( she is also very easy on the eyes, aka cute) there was an older gentlemen Who I believe was leaving his shift was there who is also good people. I have yet to be to be a gas station where the tenets were so polite and respectful. The gas is good gas and the tenants are nice and polite, i highly recommend this gas station to people. Last night my girlfriend and I stopped at this gas station. After our purchase, my girlfriend asked to make an exchange because she was given the wrong product. Instead of providing solutions or policies, the clerk Yessi met her with insults calling her a "fool" and "fucking stupid" for not asking for the correct product. No manager was on the floor. I went in to the store to see if I could get a clear understanding of policy, and the same clerk met me with the same indecency. The website provides no contact information for management to solve such problems. I have a video of the entire encounter, and can not find a place on yelp (yet) to share it. Consistently surly attendants. Annoying sales people pushing products while you try to pump your gas. But the incident that made me stop going there was when the auto-shutoff on their pump failed causing half a tank of gas to spill on the ground. It was easy to determine the price I was charged. And they could have reimbursed me for the cost. But instead they gave me the runaround when I wouldn't accept a free car wash and ten bucks as compensation. Poor service and cheap owners. Car wash was down for "maintenance", when it was up and running again, the good old trusty $5 wash turned into a $5 rinse! No more suds, you have to upgrade in order to "wash" your car. It used to be a good deal, now at $5 it's a rip-off for just rinse with water marks when it's done. I entered the gas station to buy a six pack and a iced coffee, Richard the older employee behind the counter stopped checking out the customers at the register to follow me around the store (I'm assuming he thought I was going to steal) i understand certain people do that however i was dressed in a short sleeve button up pattern tee shirt and felt like i looked respectable. I told Richard there's customers in line and you following me is rude and degrading, he shouted in front of everyone if I want to buy beer I need to show him my I.D. beforehand and let him no what il be buying. I responded by saying I go there daily and never follow that routine with any other employee that works there, nor have I any place I've ever gone . He told me he doesnt care how i normally do it that's how he wants it done i was second in line at this point he finished checking out the first person I hand him my I.D. (I'm 26) He takes a look and throws my I.D. on the counter back to me I say have a good day and leave. The price on the pump says $4.05 but the actual price was $4.13. When I told the staff she said that was the cash price. I had paid with a debit card...that's cash. The 76 on El Camino Real in Encinitas lowers the price when using a debit card. She said most stations have their cash price on the pumps. I don't think so. read more

I was stranded at Shell since 11pm on August 10th 2018 and as I tried several attempts with my insurance and work roadside assistance they all wanted money right away and that was my problem. I have money but I had canceled my card that morning and I had forgotten. I live in San Bernardino and the last thing I wanted was to ask friends and family to come all the way just to give me gas and drive back. My mom sent me her card and I asked the cashier Nataly if I could enter it manually she knew I was stranded so she helped me out. The card for some reason would not work and I was running out of options. Then she grabs her wallet and tells me "go home" I looked at her and started crying Nataly paid for my gas so I could go home to my daughter it was about 1:30am at this point. I will never forget her generosity I offered to pay her back she said "I would want people to help my kids if they were stranded" this isn't much but I want the company to know what an amazing person and employee she is. I'm a complete stranger and she helped me without hesitation, because of her I will always pump gas at Shell. Came in here very late at night and bought some goods from the convenient store. The clerk inside (a male) had horrible customer service skills and was more occupied with using his Smartphone than taking care of me. I sat there and waited to purchase the things I came in for while he was clearly more interested in using his phone. He had zero personality. Car wash didn't dry my car AT ALL! Went inside to ask the shell attendants what they could do. They from the start weren't concerned with helping me and told me a refund was not an option neither was getting another car wash. They called the manager and he wasn't gonna help us at all either. I'm a a regular visitor to this station, it is on my route from home to the office. Several times I have noticed 3rd party companies with an easy up trying to sell you services, approaching cars and hassling people. Today it was a windshield repair outfit who looked to have hooked an older lady on the service. I asked the attendant and she said these companies pay the leasing company to set up shop at the station. I have never seen this at other stations and I'm sure shell would not approve. This car wash left a huge dent in the back of my vehicle!! It slammed repeatedly into the back as the rollers went around - clearly not made for anything larger than a small car! The whole van shook as it happened. After the company made an "investigation" they "reviewed the tape" and said they couldn't be responsible - and the tape didn't show the wash damaging my vehicle. I took the manager right outside to see it after the incident and he pretended to be all nice and helpful as he wrote up an incident report. A week later he said "he couldn't prove that the dent wasn't there before I washed it" and said "everyone knows a car wash is at your own risk"!!!! Umm, no, it's not - especially when there's no sign that says so! I will be pursuing this until they pay for the damage. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!
