Located in the middle of San Elijo Hills, it's really the only gas station in the area. I try to avoid it (I'll be honest!) because it's really overpriced....like 40 cents higher than other local gas stations. But hey, it's San Elijo Hills! Sometimes I have to stop here...and only when my gas tank is on 'E' and I know I won't make it back up the hill without running out of gas. I'll be back..but only when I'm on 'E'. read more

This has been my go-to station on my way home. It's in the middle of nowhere and I understand why the gas prices are high ($4.17 premium). However, in passing several gas stations in Encinitas, the price difference was within pennies. This is the only gas station in SEH - in the middle of town. I like this Chevron. Located in the middle of the road heading into or out of San Elijo. (depending on which way you're driving) It is one of the hardest places because the gas station here is one of the only ones in the area unless you have enough gas to drive up the hill to go to the la costa ones. I love the newer look and feel of this location and the car wash too. read more

The worst manager and tellers. I don't typically leave bad reviews, I always choose to see the bright side and never know what the person is going through. Being consistently rude is what it is though. I went to let them know their buttons aren't working on the pump and they blankly stared and then let me know I have to enter the code before I pump, no kidding. I let them know I did that and The yes button won't work, so I'm just letting you know so other customers don't have the same experience. I didn't go in for a discount or refund I went in to inform them. Their response was literally nothing. Not a sorry for the inconvenience I will report it. Just nothing. I can't continue to support such a place that takes no pride. I get it may not he the most enjoyable career choice, but it's a choice and kindness goes a long way. I wish we had quiktrips on the west coast, the attendants and culture of their company are awesome. The good news is the gas filled my car and I'm on my way and can find a new business to support. If you're just stopping for gas, don't want to use your grocery discount points, and don't have to go inside then you'll be just fine supporting this location. read more

February 6,2019 my employee and I entered the minimart I told my employee that I would buy him something to drink. He grabbed two drinks and said that he needed to use the restroom, I told him to put the drinks on the counter and I would pay for them. My employee said to the attendant Maria " miss that man over there and pointed to me will be paying for my drinks I need to use the restroom". As he walk towards the bathroom she shouted speak English! He stopped bewildered and said " I was speaking English". And he went on his way. So when I walked up she blurted to the Manager Gordan. "Gordan I need for you to buy me a gun as I am standing at the counter. He said what caliber a dirty Harry 44 magnum she said " the biggest there is. I was thinking to myself wow she has problems. So I paid for everything and we left the store. As we arrived at work it was still bothering my employee and he told me what had occured. I WAS AMAZED THAT SHE WAS ASKING ABOUT THE GUN BECAUSE SHE WAS OFFENDED BY THE HARITAGE OF MY EMPLOYEEE. You see my employee is an American citizen but has a light accent. This in the nicest guy I know , he is nonconfrontational. It kept bothering him all day so I asked if I called the station and had the manager have Maria apologize would it ease your frustrations? He said yes. So I called and spoke to Gordon the manager and explained what had transpired he said that he would not have her apologize and that I was taking these comments to far. I asked him again are you going to have her apologize or do I need to file a complaint with Chevron corperate. He said that he apologizes for the employee on her behalf. My employee said that he wanted her to apologize. He refused to provide me with any further information. I told him that his attendant was a bigot and that she made terrorist threats and it needed to be counted and that I will be contacting corperate. I called corperate and they were supposed we did that this was tolerated. They gave me a case number and said they will send it uper management. Both Gordan and Maria should be terminated ! Chevron has direct reflect on this behavior of it's stations and products they produce I hope that they get to the bottom of this issue. My employee stated to me that there are a lot of children that go there after school and he was worried that they treat the children like this as well. Looking at the help rating for this station it shows that there is scames and terrible Customer service. Avoid this station unless you like abuse! Giving them one star is my only option. read more

We are giving one star to the young man who was helping. however, this station SCAMMED us $40. It is not so much the money, but the service and attitude was hard to handle. The man before us added 38.13 dollars of gas. By our turn, we paid $40 yet we couldn't added any gas. The manager came out and accused us of lying. he wouldn't even take a look at our gas meter which is zero. We needed the gas to go home. Without option, we had to pay extra $20 for gas to prove to him that his gas machine is not working. He did not care to return our $40. he could have looked at his camera and read our gas meter to solve the problem. Bottom line, what he did was no decent. This is a warning to all people not to be scammed like us. our family paid $40, another ten families can mount up to $400. Please be warned. read more

This gas station is very bad, I do not want to give them any stars. We just want to fill the fuel for car, and we paid the cash to them. But they did not reset the machine for us. We told them that we can not use the machine and it might be broken. But they just told us the machine is no problem, the problem is on our car! He, what's the heck? I was forget how bad this Chevron is, and then I go back and I remember just how bad it is. Getting gas isn't so much a problem, however the staff inside is horrid. They also don't keep the food at a good temperature and let things like chocolate pretzels melt and bloom. I tried to purchase a soda and chips, but the attendant was too busy coughing on their hands, they were clearly sick and should have stayed home. When I asked if I could hold my food under the barcode myself and have them not touch it she threw a massive hissy fit. It was beyond unprofessional. read more

I have lived in the San Elijo community for close to three years and have been spending about $60.00 a week at the Chevron. It's expensive, but convient. The service has always been rude and disappointing from Lucy. Dean, on the other hand, has been mostly pleasant and friendly. I've just ignored Lucy as I can usually pay out at the pump. But some days I have to run inside and I consistently run into a very "Rude" Lucy. Today she snatched money out of my hands. And, of course there was no hello, thank you-, Have a Happy New Year--even though she manages such pleasantries for the hispanic customers. I've watched her and how she has treated certain customers over others for a long time. And, I can't believe she still has a job! I know these people aren't paid much, but that's no exuse for poor behavior. Today, I asked Dean if I could have the owner's number and speak with Him . After spending at least $60.00 a week for close to 3 years. I don't hink I should have to consistently put up with rudeness. Dean said he has no number for the owner. I find this hard to believe. I just told Dean it's cool-I won't be back! From now on I'll take my business to the Arco in Encinitas where they have always been pleasant, friendly, upbeat and haven't discriminated against certain customers for the color of their skin. read more

Update - I went into this gas station extremely cautiously on Thanksgiving Day. I walked in and looked around tentatively, looking for the two bully women that used to work there. As I walked up to the counter, a nice young woman approached and wished me a Happy Thanksgiving in a the nicest tone I've heard in that station for a very long time. I have not walked into this station since I wrote my last review. I had contacted corporate after my last run in with these women and apparently something was done. They are not there anymore and the shopping experience there has greatly improved! Credit goes to the owner of this station who clearly heard the complaints and did something about it. I will be frequenting this station again as a result of his concern and action. The young woman, I think her name was Selina, was working on Thanksgiving Day but you wouldn't know it by her smile and her positive demeanor. What a breath of fresh air! read more

Gas prices are so high here. We spend max $20 here for gas and then drive to Shell so we can use our Ralph's gas points to save $.10 per gallon. I hate that on our gas receipt when we have filled up here that we were charged for 24 gallons when we only have a 22 gallon tank. read more
