The issue with this location is half the time the ATM on the actual gas machines are not working and you have to go inside the pay which is a hassle, especially if you're in a hurry. I live in the area and it's probably happened to me more than 12 times in the last Month, which is more than enough times to be late somewhere. I seem to always stop here when I'm low on gas and costco is busy. Very easy to drive in/out. Never had to wait on line, never been approached by anyone trying to sell me anything. I walk in I microwave my hot pockets. 10 min later employee walks up to me and says no more after this and then says it looks like I'm hiding something. I leave but come back because that was rude of him to say. I ask him what I did wrong and he tells me to leave. I ask him if theirs a time limit for the microwave. no response. I ask him if he thought I stole something he just tells me to leave again. I throw my receipt on the counter from a different store I went to earlier look I didn't steal. keeps telling me to leave . coworker chimes in and says basically don't start problems or we'll hurt you. so you make a customer feel uncomfortable. don't fully explain yourself. won't listen to anything the customer has to say . and don't apologize when proven that you where wrong and then a coworker threatens me when you where both wrong. customer service isn't for either of you and you made me not want to eat my dinner. Do not use this gas station/car wash a few weeks ago I went to get a car wash pulling out a piece of plastic popped my tire. Instead of offering to pay to fix it I had to "file a claim" just got the letter back the refused to accept responsibility, it cost $11.99 to fix. What a horrible thing to say to a customer, and then she tells me to pull my car out so others can wash there car since there was a line behind me. Male attendant was sitting on the counter as I can in, looked very disheveled and unprofessional. Was carrying on conversation with female attendant. Made me wait while he carried on his conversation and when he finally did get off the counter and turn to me was very rude. Really nice gas station. The pumps are well lit and bright I felt safe. It's clean and well kept. More expensive than 7-11 across the street. BUT if you shop at Ralph's you can get up to 20 cents off a gallon. I earned enough this month to get earn 20 cents off. Ended up paying $2.98 for premium. I like this gas station and I'll be back. WORST CAR WASH EVER I needed to get my car washed as a bird decided my small black Kia Forte looked like a great place first target practice. I pulled in right behind another car and processed my payment. As I waited I saw the car in front of me go through the whole wash cycle and drive up for the blowers to dry off the car. I then drove in and the wash started, but after a minute or so it stopped. I sat there thinking it will start up again, then realized the lights were all off. I ended up having to back out, but another car had already pulled in behind me. There was no call button at the pay machine, so I had to lock my car walk in and the clerk inside gave me a receipt with a code. I went back out, the car wash worked, but when the blowers started up I could not pull forward. There was some kind of block up not allowing me to pull forward. I finally had to gun it to get over the thing. I once again went in to tell the clerk about the problem, he said that's how it works. NO IT DOESN'T!!! Total BS read more

I was on the way back from yoga in Carlsbad, tank had 10 miles of fuel left and I knew that I wouldn't have enough to get home. I was getting dangerously close to the entrance to the 78 and knew that would lead straight to the 15 and therefore I would likely run out of fuel on the freeway, this being a personal nightmare given that hubby and I have only one car and our baby girl was asleep! Thankfully right next to the freeway entrance was this gas station. I fueled up not bearing to look at the prices and paid at the pump then I headed into the store to grab a late dinner, go me having gas station food for dinner! The gas station was clean, convenient, quiet and had a good choice of snacks as well as an ATM. So why only 3 stars? Well the gas station attendant was grouchy and the prices were high. It was out of my way so very unlikely I will be back but thankful it was there for me today! read more

The two guys that I've seen work here can definitely be smart asses, but hey... it's San Marcos and they quite frankly don't really give a shit? Either way, getting in and out is always fairly quick and yes, they do have a public restroom. Diesel fuel and a car wash can also be found here. Terrible management. The car wash was not working and was only washing cars halfway before stopping. I called them to say there was an alert that it was out of service. The assistant manager was very rude. She came out Yelling. Saying she would help the car behind me but it seemed she was accusing me of breaking the machine and I had not even received the car wash yet I was waiting at the entrance. I went inside and the kind attendant gave me my money back. Horrible experience and waste of 30 min of my time. I would avoid this place. Pass on the new car wash. A new ownership took over. They wouldn't accept my punched card which gives me a new wash after 5 punches...then they put in new driers in the wash that hardly dry your car. I used to like this wash because it scrubs well, and dries well. All for $6. But the driers suck now, and when I got home there were long streaks of completely unscrubbed sections of my car. I'll be washing in my driveway now on. read more

I hate going to the gas station as much as anyone else, but this place isn't THAT bad. Everything here is new and in decent shape... the pumps have widescreen TVs to watch while you fill-up. The food mart is pretty large and they have a decent selection. I've found the staff to be pretty friendly. It's easy to get in and out of and hop on the 78. Prices are decent (for what I would call "Tier-1" fuel). Also, lots of places to eat right nearby which is an additional bonus. read more

This place sucks. You pay top dollar, the pumps won't let you pay with your card, so you have to go in to the absolutely clueless attendant. Then You have to guess how much your bill will be so she can key it in, and when you go to pump, it stops every half gallon. I got about three gallons before I gave up. I went back in to get a receipt, she asks which pump like I want just in there 30 seconds ago, prints out a receipt and hands it to me, and it's a receipt for a few candy bars, not even gas! The lady locked the door with no sign saying why in the middle of the day. Right as I was about to walk away she opened the door. I asked for $ to be put on the pump My bike was parked at and a can of Copenhagen wintergreen pouches(the only brand and flavor I use). She kept the can in her hand till my card was accepted and then handed me a can of Grizzly. I told her that I asked for Copenhagen and she then started to argue with me repeatedly telling me I asked for Grizzly(a brand I have never bought). I told her I've never used that and she was wrong. She corrected the sale and then tossed the can at the counter. I told her not be so rude and that she was wrong as I was walking out of the store. I plainly heard her say "nigger" under her breath as I was walking out. Pretty shocking as I'm not black. I'm Puerto Rican and grew up in Oklahoma so I laughed at the hilarity of the situation, got my gas, and left.
