It was just a block down the hill from our hotel. It's a compact liquor and convenience store - think beer, wine, spirits, non-alcoholic cold beverages, and chips/snacks. It may be pricier than Safeway but for the convenience factor, we didn't find it to be too expensive. Over our 2-day visit to Santa Cruz we stopped in a few times to buy bottled waters, milk, muscle milk, bananas, and a bottle of wine.

This location also has a Redbox out front, which I haven't seen in a while since my local 7-Elevens removed theirs.

I only waited in the check-out line for a few minutes too, where Ebony helped ring up my items, and even added coupon discounts from my pharmacy receipt I hadn't even realized I could use!
