Stopped in to pick-up a prescription and some personal care items today. My pharmacy wait was less than 5 minutes (the line was short!), and I was able to find exactly what I needed. I only waited in the check-out line for a few minutes too, where Ebony helped ring up my items, and even added coupon discounts from my pharmacy receipt I hadn't even realized I could use! Between that and my monthly rewards credit, I paid less than $2 for my purchase. Ebony was friendly and efficient - I'll look forward to seeing her next time I visit. Wow! Just read some of the recent reviews and I see that everyone is complaining about the poor customer service! We had great customer service from the one gentleman that helped us. Wish I would have gotten his name knowing all the complains I am reading. He was an older tall White male about 6' + tall in his late 50's. He just happened to walk by us as we entered the store. He stopped and greeted us and asked if he could help us find anything. We told him what we needed and he put us in the right direction. In and out in less than 10 mins. Unfortunately, the CVS is situated in a rough location with so many shady people and homeless people lurking around. It was night time when we were there and I would definitely advise people to be on your toes. So many opportunists in the area hanging out and using drugs making it very uncomfortable!!! Went to the pharmacy Monday & was told I need to confirm the prescription, which I did sign and wait 2 hours to be filled. I said I would come back on Tuesday to pick it up. Went down Tuesday, I'm being told the same thing, I need to confirm, sign and wait 2 hours for it to be filled. Again I leave. Came down today, Wednesday to pick it up, they don't have it. I need to confirm, sign and wait again. I'm being told the amount prescribed is unavailable, because the pharm only has it in large quantities and can't break it up. WTH? Why wasn't I told this on Monday? This is incompetence and lousy training in the best form. The right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Yesterday my locked ebike was stolen in broad daylight from the bike rack in front of the Front Street CVS. The manager said they only have one camera outside but it doesn't record activity right in front of the store - only the parking lot. He said that until recently there was no cameras at all. This leads me to believe that CVS doesn't care one bit about the safety of their customers property or about apprehending the criminals. If they can't document crimes being committed on their property there is no way to identify and apprehend the theives. And without that there is no deterrence - no wonder why many people don't want to shop there... They of course have tons of cameras inside to protect their property - why don't they care about ours? Worst service EVER! They are rude and insensitive to the needs of a costumer when it comes to medication refills. The staff is short and not very knowledgeable of the insurances to bill. They over charged me saying my insurance was rejected and even after my insurance company called them and spoke to the pharmacists about my coverage and the medication I was getting was supposed to only have a co-pay of 1.55 not 16.00, they still charged me the 16.00. They often don't have the medications I need in stock saying, it's not available anywhere in this town. They don't bother to tell you when a medication is on hold so when you go to pick up your medication it's a whole ordeal to get it. Byju is one of the worst offenders of rudeness when trying to get my meds straightened out. To say the least, they suck!!!!!!!!! Time for a new pharmacy! read more

Awful pharmacy, doesn't care about their patients. My prescriptions were transferred, actually bought, from the Rite Aid that was closed on Soquel Ave. Never had a problem getting a prescription there for more than 15 years. CVS on the other hand, was a nightmare from the very start. They continually put my prescriptions "on hold", order placed too early. That's fine, you can't get most prescriptions ahead of time. But you'd expect, and Rite Aid did this, that they'd get things ready for when you were allowed to pick up. Instead, they refuse to order the meds until the 30 days is up. So, if the meds aren't in stock (and they usually aren't), you have to wait 1-2 days depending on the day of the week. This means that I can't take my meds as prescribed. Their response is basically to shrug their shoulders. When I asked why they wouldn't order it in advance, so they would have it on hand in time, they replied that they don't want to keep any extra, because maybe it wouldn't be picked up. We're talking about a recurring, monthly prescription here, something that I'm supposed to take on a daily basis, and have been taking for years. They just don't care. read more

CVS Santa Cruz does not have shopping carts, so it is impossible to complete shopping for household items in any amount. CVS Santa Cruz does supply little handheld baskets which severely limits the purchases. CVS Santa Cruz has many shelves that have almost no stock. CVS Santa Cruz has not facilities for disabled people. Disabled people must stand in line to check out with everyone else. I had gotten some prescriptions from the pharmacy and went to the front to ask for a bag. The cashier ignored me and as I stood there said "10 cents" and I took 10 cents out for the bag. Then the cashier pictured began a confrontation saying I couldn't cut people in line and had to wait in a line of 10 people for a bag, to which I responded, frankly that was not right, as there were no other checkers. Then I asked for her name as it was covered. She refused to give me her name and continued to be confrontational saying I was "cutting people." To which I simply asked again please for her name. This encouraged one of the customers in line, who seemed to be on drugs, to start screaming names at me, and start a confrontation with a stranger as well. Eventually the checker gave me their name, Aliyah, as her manager walked up to defuse the situation thankfully. This experience was completely egregious. The acting manager was able to say they will "speak to her about it." However, I will no longer feel safe at this store after this experience and unnecessary issues. read more

Great service A+ this is a very large and well stocked pharmacy, super organized and clean, large greeting cards in the back wall and a very large well organized makeup section, if you need beach items you must come get them here super cheap, beach toys, beach chairs, beach towels, beach hats and sunglasses, sun hats/caps, surf boards, beach balls and more!!! The register person was an older gentleman he was super nice and helped me with my coupons which I then saved, my bill was $74 with my CVS card coupons I paid $52 Yay!!! NOPE. I'm from out of town and came in to get my son's prescription filled while in SC for the weekend. The gal at the drop-off counter said it would be "at least" an hour to fill it, compared to the max wait of 20 minutes at any CVS I've ever visited anywhere else. This should have been apparent from the overflowing waiting area, which looked more like the waiting room for a free clinic in a city with only one free clinic. I considered the idea of waiting rather than driving across town to another CVS, so I asked where the public restroom was. The gal's reply: "We don't have any restrooms here." Apparently even the employees are resigned to pee themselves while dealing with a never-ending stream of pissed off customers. That sealed the deal for me. Compare this to the hassle-free drive thru at the CVS across town on 41st, or the friendly faces and short wait at the CVS inside the Target in the same area. I've been coming here about once a week for several months at varying days and times. This store is always massively, massively understaffed. I assumed they didn't get additional hires/hours from corporate to deal with the huge influx of new customers after the other drug store nearby closed. The staff try to make do with what they have, but they all seem permanently exhausted and extremely stressed (what other people here interpreted as "rude"). My prescriptions are often a full day late because they often only have two people in the pharmacy and one literally cannot leave the front because there is an eternal line of people. The other person seems to go as fast as they can (I have never seen them not hard at work), but when people are picking up 1+ prescriptions once per minute the entire day, it is impossible not to fall behind unless they can fill at a rate of 1+ prescriptions per minute, and if they were doing that I would be very concerned about whether I was getting the right pills. It's a similar situation at the front with the usually-singular cashier and a line often 5-6 customers deep. I'm writing this with the hopes that the district manager or higher will see it. Don't pull any "your store rating is low, hustle to get everything done and smile instead of looking irritated and stressed!!!" bullshit. I've worked retail, there is a point where things go to hell because there are simply not enough bodies to get everything done. This store is so far past that point it's not even funny. It needs about 1.5x the staff it has to provide an adequate customer experience and 2x to provide a good one. Hire more fucking people so customers are never waiting in line for 20+ minutes. read more

Id like to take a second to thank Ebony for her wonderful customer service. I walked in having a bad day with an upset stomach and leaving happy because of her. I spent 30 minutes wandering down the aisles looking for charcoal tablets and couldn't find anything. I go to the pharmacy and ask the lady there and she replied, "I don't think we do." I continued to wander down the ailes aimlessly. Beaten I went to checkout with giftcards for my cousin, and there Ebony was waiting for me. E "Hows your day going!" M "Its alright." E "Just alright? Whats up." M "I came in looking for charcoal tablets and i couldn't find anything, and another lady said you didn't carry them." E "Oh, well Im pretty sure we do!" She radioed someone and led me to an aisle a few seconds later. E "Upset stomach kinda thing?" M "Yeah." E "Well now that youve found what youre looking for hows it going for you?" M "Pretty good actually!" She helped me find my charcoal tablets and checked me out the rest of the way. Ebony was extremely friendly and turned an irritating experience into a good interaction. Worst CVS experience ever! Today, Wednesday June 15th 2022 I had to put my beloved best friend my dog to sleep Im absolutely heartbroken. I come to CVS to pick up a few things and I'm totally depressed and I'm standing in the checkooil ppput line and a couple people behind me this young girl is playing music that is disturbingly obscene and offensive and the woman behind me also was feeling offended. I asked her to please turn the music down or off because it was inappropriate with children in the store as she was playing it quite loud. She pops off with the F-bomb and proceeded on a tirade of offensive language while raising her voice I responded with" there are young children in the store and some of us adults don't want to hear it either "and she was very loud in her response which was completely out of line rude and vulgar. The next thing I know the manager Matt tells me that I have to leave the store I cannot make my purchase and grabs the items I was intending to purchase away fromù me and escorts me from the store. I asked him the basis for his actions and he told me it was because my interaction with this girl that was playing the vulgar music and raising heru voice and using vulgar language in the store . It's unfortunate that Santa Cruz doesn't have a Target or even Walmart for daily buys. I find CVS to be slightly overpriced compared to other drug stores, but this is fine when you don't have many options. The close by Trader Joe's is a gem! Homeless people tend to linger around the back door and the front area/parking lot here, they tend to not bother you but every now and then we get someone from out of town that is more pushy about that dollar bill. Funny story that doesn't have much to do with this review: This was one of the first stores I went to in my first trip downtown with friends. When we asked for assistance inside the worker literally looked us all up and down then said "you're new here aren't you?" We got so creeped out that I didn't return to this store until the following quarter. read more

This may just have won the award for THE worst CVS pharmacy department I have ever been to in the United States. And I travel 10 months out of the year so that should give you an indication of just how bad they are. I went to an urgent care this morning and got diagnosed with gout in my toe which is extraordinarily painful, and had to rush to work and plan to pick up my prescription this evening. Today, I arrived about 5 minutes before the pharmacy closed at 8p, but there was one woman being waited on and another in front of me. When the pharmacy tech/person took the woman in front of me, she said very rudely to me, "You're my last customer. If someone comes behind you, tell them we're closed." THEN, a few minutes later, an even ruder woman comes from behind the glass and snarls at me, "We're closed." I said, "I've been here for over five minutes! Jeez!" The other woman told her that I'd been in line and it was OK, and the customer looked back at me in disgust and rolled her eyes. Wow. Great way to treat customers. When I got up to the counter, the woman messed up my birthday several times and then announced I had no prescriptions. I hope that's not true because I went to an urgent care place this morning and this was the pharmacy they were supposed to use. But she wouldn't even look through the prescriptions in the bins, or verify that my last name was spelled correctly. I was horrified. And really angry. Who hires people like this? And what's more, what kind of company allows people like this to greet the public? These women should be interacting with boxes of toilet paper and tampons in the back of the store, and they shouldn't even be near a customer. You need help, CVS Front Street. Look at all these terrible reviews! Your corporate office-district office needs to do some serious housecleaning. I will call the urgent care I went to this morning tomorrow to find out what went wrong. But it will be a cold day in Hell before I fill another prescription that any of those horrible, rude, nasty women would touch. Shame on you. read more

I just had the rudest interaction with one of the pharmacy workers. I called to transfer a prescription to another store location and he interrupted me several times. Not only did he not let me finish what I was trying to say, but he has also had a very rude tone. I've worked in customer service before and I know it can be frustrating but I never let my anger show to the customers. After leaving found I only received 60 tablets at a cost of $522.00 instead of the normal $229.09 for 180 tablets . They stated it had to do with deductible but why only 60 tablets . This cvs is one of the busiest I've been into. The staff does their best to provide customer service to everyone even when their lines are really long. Everyone is approachable and accommodating. I placed an online, 1-hour order for 3 items for the photo department. I had no intention of picking them up in an hour; I didn't need them until many hours later. I arrived at the store 6+ hours later. Not only were NONE of the items completed, but 1 of them couldn't be completed in their store due to malfunctioning equipment. However, not 1 of the employees could take 30 seconds to call me and tell me this so that I could make alternate arrangements. They said they were "too busy" to call. Yet, there were 4 employees in the photo department at 1 point and zero customers. I had to drive all over to other stores and pay MORE money to get the item I ordered, and it ended up being late anyway. Never again. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. read more
