Pain at the Gas Despite what a lot of non-believers might think, Costco gas is fantastic, and I've never had an issue with it. In fact, my 240k-mile Subaru has been run almost exclusively on Costco gas thanks to the proximity of my work to a Costco Gas Station. Their gas is rated Top Tier™, and that isn't a meaningless proclamation, as TT means a higher quality of gas. They intentionally run it at 20-30¢/gal cheaper than the market average because they use it as a loss leader. * One of the few Costco gas locations that carries diesel. * 5% cash back on the Costco Citi card is kind of hot, especially considering our gas prices as of late. The Meh: * No amenities here like paper towels and window washing equipment. Hell, you're lucky they even have garbage cans! * Members Only. But I mean honestly, does anyone in The Bay *not* have a Costco membership??? The Ugly: * The Santa Cruz station is priced 50¢/gal higher than San José gas stations. I guess that's the schlepping the petrol down the hill tax. Conclusion: Inexpensive, high-quality gas. Not much more one can ask for. read more

They have most, if not all the departments - Tire, food court, gas station, pharmacy, optical, hearing aids, etc. I should have checked their gas prices... Service - Self service. Price - Reasonable, inexpensive. But I always end up buying stuff I do NOT need..... So for me it was a little wasteful. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this location since 1994. Congrats on all your success since 1976, since Price Club. I blew out a tire due to my own stupidity and decided to check the tire prices at Costco. Their prices were lower than other tire retailers in the area and they do not charge for installation. Since I have an all-wheel-drive car and my tires were very worn I needed to buy four tires. They weren't able to take my car that day because it was late in the day and they already gad a full schedule. I made an appointment for the next day. They took my car in on time and had all four tires changed in an hour. I was very happy with the employees who were knowledgeable and helpful and I was very happy with the price and service in general. read more

Horrible car tire service. They said they would call us when the car was done, they did NOT call us. We had to check inside after an hour and 45 minutes. When we came in they were like "ok you're all set" so if we were all set then why didn't we get a call? I hope I never have the displeasure of getting serviced here again. read more

Hayden gave me no issues by assisting to pick up heavy objects in my basket and place them in my car, it sucks to have rheumatoid arthritis... and it sure helps when there is quality service available. Tyler gave me a pleasant smile at the cash register, which felt really good inside however, the cashier only gave a mean non-responsive look and turned away as I smiled at her , which made my momentary shopping experience very unpleasant... it really makes a difference when quality service gives a smile, a respectable response, and assistance for those of us who may need extra help from time to time.... We love the local Costco. Who doesn't? They have great prices and great items. What's not to love? We have been using the Costco same day delivery service the past year and have to give it a review. It can be found on the Costco website by selecting Same Day. ( the prices are better on their same day service over Instacart). The delivery people are reliable and helpful. I buy mechanical, electrical, electronic, hiking & camping gear, books, household stuff, always-fresh food, contact lenses (& exams), prescriptions, booze, oil, tires, gas, etc. [POSITIVE]: -- employee morale high, very helpful & paid better than most. -- refund policy incredibly generous & uncomplicated. -- commendable recycling efforts. -- parking spaces wide & numerous. -- carts clean & well maintained. -- generous free samples (sometimes leading to new food). -- free tire pressure gauge & pumps in parking lot (that actually work). -- self checkout option. -- no bait-&-switch tricks (unlike the local Sayfwayy). Yet another unsuccessful trip to the Costco gas station for different cards were declined I can't remember all the different error messages it was giving me but it does this all the time. The instructions are very vague and there's about five different slots to put a card in very confusing. I'm pretty sure they don't accept MasterCard but I tried my Visa and American Express and neither one worked. So far this gas station has lost several hundred dollars of my business because their card readers do not work. read more

One of the better gas stations in the area. These pumps are relatively new and there are three rows of pumps per lane which is MUST needed during the weekend traffic. This gas station can even back up with a line of cars during the week. Prices tend to me on the lower end compared to other stations in the area which is nice. Although, you're saving an average of 5 cents person gallon so it's likely not worth it to go out of your way to get here, unless you're in the area already. read more

I was at the Costco tire center in Santa Cruz, CA for an 11:45am appointment on Saturday aug. 31, 2024. After waiting just about 3 hours (was supposed to be 60-90min), I go in and ask about my car exactly 2:37pm. He said my car was already done and someone "should have called me". Nobody called me. When I got my paperwork it is printed on the top: time in 12pm, time out 2:02pm. So they were done with the car AND paperwork 35min before I walked in to ask about it? Why did nobody contact me? This is just on their gas station. Pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon. There are two ways to get in, thru the parking lot or from the street. The gas pump lines are long enough to pump gas from either side of your car. Easy to deal with and gets you in and out. Be sure to have your Costco card and credit card ready when you pull up. Went to buy a case of Starbucks mocha frappes from this store and they were spoiled, chunky, and had large mold pieces at the bottom. I have never been to the Santa Cruz Costco but I like going to different Costco's in different areas. They always have cool unique items to the area in which they serve. This particular Costco had an array of surfboards and out door equipment!! I'm not too sure if it was seasonal, but I know the Santa Clara in San Jose Costco's I've been to don't have some of the paddle boards and surfboards that this Santa Cruz Costco had. This Costco also had a pretty decent size organic section which I love going and shopping in! I never actually found the gas station, but we drove in got a couple items and left quickly to the beach before all the weekend people arrived. Lol read more

First off, I have to say that I'm really surprised that noone made a Yelp page for this Costco Gas station. I don't know if it is because it is new, or if everyone simply added their gas station review onto the Yelp page for the Costco warehouse right next door. On my way home from a job out in Watsonville tonight, I realized that I was going to be passing Santa Cruz while going down Hwy 17, and there was a Costco Gas station right in Santa Cruz. Perfectly convenient detour here I come! This particular gas station is rather confusing to locate because unlike other Costco gas stations, it is not actually on the same lot as the warehouse. Instead, it is across the street on the corner of Sylvania Ave and Harvey West Blvd. Also unlike other gas stations I've been to, this Costco gas station also offers diesel at every pump. Convenient for those that need to fill up on something other than unleaded gasoline. And while there is unfortunately no indicator lights at this particular station showing cars waiting in queue what pumps are free and available for pumping, there wasn't huge lines when I arrived around 7pm tonight. Overall, a clean, well-maintained, brightly lit and convenient gas station if you happen to be stopping by or are shopping at the nearby Costco. In addition, I found the gas here to be cheaper than the Costco gas locations in the Bay Area with Premium gas at $4.059/gallon (as of 10/18/19). read more

Ordered and paid for a refrigerator on-line, on 1/07/2023. No problem. Ordering and paying for the appliance went smoothly Was informed that there might be a delay in scheduling delivery. Tracked the product from Hayward to Stockton... it was on its way! Scheduled delivery for 01/27/2013. Was informed that we would receive a call the night before, giving us a two-hour window during which delivery would occur. Night before ... I received an email letting me know that the item was out of stock, and the order had been canceled! What was I tracking? Did Costco not know that the item was out of stock prior to the night before the scheduled delivery? Called customer service the next morning... The rep was apologetic... but confirmed that the order had been canceled. I had to ask about the refund. Not happy with Costco. Ordered a similar fridge from a competitor. read more

95-ish % of the time, Costco has the best gas prices in town. Unless you get there during peak times, (you can do a Google search for "Costco Santa Cruz" & check the busy rating) I rarely have to wait for gas. Furthermore, I LOVE the digital signage showing open spaces. I do get a good chuckle when people are waiting in line yet there are open spaces, oh well, their wait is my gain! When I have interacted with the staff member they have there, it has always been pleasant. They have always been helpful. Costco is my go-to for gas here in town. Compared to other Costco Gasoline locations in the area, this one tends to be the one I can get in and out of in the least amount of time. read more
