Convenient location to make a quick stop to fill up. They have a Loop attached to the gas station so you can also go inside and fuel up on snacks and drinks. Prices are reasonable, cheaper than some of the other stations in the area, and plenty of filling stations available - I was able to grab one easily on a weekday morning. The location doesn't always make it easy to get out of the station and get into the lane that you want to be in though - Gellert can get really busy during the day. So you might need to plan on making some u-turns to get back to where you need to go. read more

I've been coming to this station weekly for a long time and have always appreciated the friendly staff. On **October 1, 2025**, however, I purchased an "Ultimate Carwash" and the wash ran without dispensing any soap. I went inside to let them know and waited about **30 minutes** for a manager named **Om Giri** to address the issue. Instead of listening to my concern, Mr. Giri immediately tried to give me another car‑wash code and insisted I run my car through again. I explained that washing a car with no soap can damage the paint, and I politely declined. He refused to check the security cameras (I have dash‑cam footage), raised his voice, laughed at me, and repeatedly inferred I was a liar in front of other customers and staff. He spoke down to both me and a courteous female employee who had initially tried to help. I was shocked by his unprofessionalism. I wasn't initially looking for a refund; I just wanted the issue acknowledged and the equipment fixed. The other employees here are great, but this manager's behavior was unacceptable. This review is for the gas station and car wash. General overview: 2 fueling stations were down at the time I was there around 3pm on a Monday. 5-6 cars waiting for a car wash. Once I jumped in line for the car wash, it took about 20 minutes before it was my turn, by that point, 6 more cars lined up behind me. The instructions are posted to the right of the entrance of the wash. I had pre-picked the $8 option (2nd to the last of the simplest option), the machine lets you punch in the authorization code on your receipt ahead of time even when the car ahead of you is still mid-wash. Follow the lights once you're inside and turn off your engine on red, but I see some cars choose to keep their engine running. Overall a so-so experience. read more

But the gentleman who works at this location (older guy with glasses, possibly of Indian descent?) for one reason or another is incredibly rude and condescending. This proves that being courteous is definitely not so common. Twice now has he made myself and other customers feel as if we were the ones making errors with their pumps when in fact the card readers on several pumps don't actually work. Whether it be a glitch causing some cards to be unreadable to maybe them trying to force customers to have to pay inside for who knows what reason, having to deal with that associate is really upsetting. I can understand human error and if I make a mistake I own up to it. However, it doesn't justify him being so incredibly rude. To the Shell Corporation, if by some miracle you read this, I'd recommend either having that associate let go or at least have him go on probation until he completes a required customer service training. Review for air and car wash. I went to pump air into my tires and was quite disappointed. By law, you're supposed to provide free air and water for fuel but not only did you have to pay ($1.5 for 3 minutes) but the card machine for it didn't even work! Just so you know, Chevron has a free one, so go there. Car wash at Shell is actually cheaper than Chevron and has more options. I always opt for the $7 one because it's all I need. The best thing is you can pay at the front of the car wash, in case you were t planning to buy gas. The wait can be long so go during off peak... This is a formal complaint about the store management Rocio. This lady has absolutely no skills to be a store management. On the evening of November 24th, I took my car to the car wash at this location which is located at 398 Gellert Blvd. When I finished washing the car and went back to the garage, something terrible happened. I found a lot of scratches and paint peeling on the front right side of the car, my car even went from a shiny finish to a matte finish. I immediately went back to gas station and tried to report the issue to their staff, But I was told that their manager wasn't there, none of these people knows how to handling my situation, they asked me to come back and talk to their manager on Friday. On Friday afternoon I returned to the same place and was told that their manager was not there. After some tossing and turning, I was told that their manager worked at another store which is located at 390 Hickey Blvd. I reached out to the management Rocio by phone and tried to explain my situation to her, but instead of trying to understand the cause of the matter, she was very indifferent to me and told me that they're not responsible for any damage caused by the car wash. I had to go to her place of work and show her how my car was doing. She threw the car wash incident report form right in my face instead of saying Hello. I took her to my car and tried to show her where it had been scratched, but was met with a cynical look on her face, she even tried to pass the buck by saying that the scratches on my car weren't from their car wash. Really? Rocio, do you really think you will knows my car better than myself? She even tried to tell me that they posted a disclaimer outside the car wash and told me that I can go to take a photo if I like. But hey! However, the disclaimer does not mean that you do not need to maintain your equipment to cause all this damage to my car even though I have followed the rules. All right, I completed the car wash incident report form and asked her when I would hear back, but I was told " I DON'T KNOW" on every single question I had asked after I had the incident form get completed. "Nothing else I can do it for you, your situation are took over from our corporate office now" she said. Mrs Rocio, as a store manager, do you feel your attitude, your ability to work, and your customer service are really what a manager should be? Based on your attitude and ability to deal with problems, I will definitely follow up my situation, if you don't want to deal with it, I'll deal with your corporate office, if your corporate office doesn't want to deal with it, I'll go over to the Best Business Bureau. And I'm on the quest to find a good car wash location, this place isn't too bad! When you pay for your gas, you have an option to get a car wash, you click yes, choose from 4 types of washes (descriptions of them are at the top of the machine) and you get a receipt that has a code which you punch in right before you enter the car wash. I really liked that I received a discount of .10/ gal on my gas with the purchase of a car wash! Most of the time I find I cant use it right away because of a long line of cars. Thats ok. Its business. Other times the car wash doesnt perform well for whatever reasons and I dont believe I get what I paid for. But what pisses me off, the last three days in row the car wash has been closed. When I ask what time it opens, they say 8 am yet for three days in a row its been closed. Whats wrong with honesty? The car wash here is horrible. I waited in line for 35 minutes for a $7 wash and once I punched in my code it said authorized. The car in front of me finished up and I waited for the flashing green light to start. I waited. And waited. And waited. Nothing. I pressed the help button on the screen and waited. And waited. Reading all the reviews of the various shell stations around the Daly City / Colma area, it seems the car wash portion of all the station gets bad reviews. But after a trip to Reno last weekend where there was snow, my car was badly in need of a wash. There was a shell station near my house but I decided to look around the other shell stations as well. I settled on this one as there wasn't a lot of people filling up. After filling up, I selected the "ultimate car wash" as my car was extremely dirty. When I went to wash my car, there was a couple of cars ahead of me. When the car ahead of me started their wash, I inputted my code and just waited until the other car was finished. I slowly drove my car into the washer and stopped when I needed to and my car was washed. I hadn't done this type of car wash in a long time. Reminded me of when my dad used to get his car washed at the gas stations. My car was mostly clean though some tighter spots weren't as well but can't ask much more from an automated system. So while I know others didn't seem to like the car washes as the various shell stations, I had no issues with the wash. It's a quick way to get your car washed and on your day without spending a bundle of money. read more

Don't use the car wash here. If something is wrong with it, they'll only refund you $2! There was no soap coming out of the car wash and the brushes were just wiping nothing but a dry hood n roof. When I went inside to notify them, I was told that management only allows a refund of $2 for car washes. So I paid $15 for an Ultimate Wash initially, but ended up with $13 for barely a rinse and some rain protectant. No wash at all. read more

I come in and no matter what time of day if Karla is on shift or anyone else for that matter I've always been welcomed with a warm hello. But I think it's pretty awesome that when I come in now that Karla remembers what I order every time, even though they probably deal with hundreds of customers everyday. Don't let operators like this get away with ripping people off or discouraging safe operation of a vehicle because of illegally charging for something already included in your fuel purchase price BY LAW. Last week I pumped gas and added the Car Wash as you can save almost .20 a gallon plus my car was dirty - I selected the most Premium Wash one however the line was so long that day, I decided to comeback another time. 5 days later I finally decided to go back and get that wash as my car was really dirty - Keep in mind I have been here numerous times so I know the different from a cheap wash, the mid to expensive one. When I get there and entered my code, I get prompted to enter more money for a upgrade as I was now converted to just a express wash (cheapest one)?? WTF?? I know I purchased a premium as I had my receipt. The line was getting long so I didn't wanted to be the dumb guy who holds up the line because they didn't know how to enter or something. Thinking it's a glitch, so I went thru with the wash it was just water and barely soap!!! Basically I got duped to a basic one. Here is what I suspect happened, if you paid for a premium wash or any upgrade than the basic one, make sure you get it wash at that time. If you come back later - these guys will alter the system to save money thinking you will forget or not comeback... so they will change the premium wash to the cheapest one (basic) You've been warned! read more

If you're looking for cheap gas without having to treck to costco then this is your place to go! The biggest perk has to be the cheap gas, but the down side is that the pumps are SO SLOW. Patience is a virtue here! It doesn't have too many frills or thrills - if you want a convenience store for snacks or eats - I'd recommend going next door to Chevron. Getting gas is fine. Car wash is poor. Customer service is poor. I waited in line 15 minutes to go into the carwash. I went slightly past the sensor. The sensor told me to back up. But the the car wash would not activate. The customer representative acted as if I were stupid to have moved past the sensor. I was in a hurry and asked for a refund. I was refused a refund and was instread issued a pass that was good for 90 days. *Avoid getting your car washed here.* If you do, pay for it separately by credit card from your gasoline, so that you can ask your credit card to cancel the transaction if something goes wrong. read more

It used to be great when it first reopened.. The carwash would rinse the car first and it did this on the $7, $8, $9 ones I tried them all. But they changed it.. Now the carwash will soap and the scrub without first rinsing. This carwash will scratch your car!! (Unless you pay $11, according to the "manager") If I have a dirty car that needs washed it will probably have dust and dirt on the surface. So soaping and then scrubbing will obviously scratch the paint. A good rinse is what needs to happen first. The "manager" (who is very incompetent) , would not believe me when I told her that the carwash does not rinse the car before soaping and scrubbing. She said I was not reading what came with the less expensive car washes. But I have used the carwash hundreds of times before they screwed it up, and it always would rinse first. Now according to the "manager", I have to pay for the $11 (ultimate) carwash in order to get the first rinse. She then gave me a hard time when I tried to get refunds for carwash codes simply because the dates on them were from the past. They were not used! I am a fan of cheap gas, I am, 'specially when it comes from a branded station with a rep for high quality gas. This is by far the cheapest Shell in the peninsula! Five stars for gas quality and price. The car wash, not so much. It's retarded and takes forever because the car drives in, then the "car spa" moves back and forth over your car. The "brushes" are strips of rubber!!! Super bad for your car and I swear there were extra scratches afterward (there were certainly more flakes of paint missing). OKAY! I do come to this Shell quite often because it tends to be a few cents cheaper than the one up the street! It's a recession gotta pinch those pennies. I usually pay with my card but decided to pay in CASH this time around because i had enough to do so for once in my wallet. I go up to the little cashier station in the middle of the station and there's a line of about 2 people and they are just standing there. The guy in the little cubbie was on the phone and totally ignoring the people waiting in line. After 10 minutes in line it was finally my turn. So I get up to the window and the guy his name is BADEE...really that was on his name tag...continues to talk on the phone and not even acknowledge me. I put my money in the little container and shoved it over and he just continued like i wasn't there...finally he looks up at me and I just scream through the window $30 on #3!!!! He looks at me shakes his head okay and i'm done. Unfortunately I needed change...i really debated whether or not to get it but like i said it's a RECESSION! Luckily I didn't even bother with him to acknowledge me I just said how much change i needed from my pump and he gave it to me! It took me almost 20mins to get gas when it should have taken only 5-10 min max! Been going here for years for car washes and gas. Yesterday got a wash and the wash left soap all over the car and didn't clean the wheels as the premium wash should. Complained to the attendant for a refund. There was soap all over my car. He said he couldn't refund my money because I already used the car wash. HUH? I said you''re telling me that because I used it I can't get my money. I said you provided a service and it wasn't up to par so I should get my money back or at least a credit for another. He then still kept repeating the same reason. I then said, so if I purchased a candy bar that tasted old or anything like that I couldn't get a new one or money back? He said no. The lady behind me couldn't believe what was going on either. If this is their policy they sure have never learned about customer service or "the customer is always right". This review is simply for the wait time and disorganization. It might be in Shell's or Loop neighborhood's best interest to find some way to organize the entrance to the car wash at this location. I've been in line since 11:45am waiting to have my car washed. It's currently 12:15pm and I'm still waiting with 3 more cars still in front of me. Apart from this, because the line is so long, I've witnessed cars honking at each other simply to get into a pump station and even one customer actually getting out of his car to yell at another customer telling him where the end of the line is. Surely there has to be a way for Shell or Loop neighborhood to regulate the flow of customers into the car wash. If you're going to invest that much money in new renovations, you can surely spare a bit more to TRY and fix the problem. read more
