It does not matter if the tank rental is paid up or not. This happened to me a year and a half ago with no forewarning. I managed to talk them out of taking the tank explaining I didn't need much propane as I only used it to cook with. Now, they have tripled the rental fees on the tank because I am not buying enough propane from them. They are aggressive, they are not honest and if they can, they will rip you off.
