I discovered that the seam on my pants had a 2 inch opening in the inner seam on the right leg of the pants. I received an email at 11:00 am on the day the tux had to be returned to remind me about returning the tux. I showed up at the store at opening time (12:00) and had to wait 20 minutes for the worker (in dirty pants) to open the store. When I questioned him as to why they didn't open on time, he said he had to attend a sweet 16 party the night before! Really? I had a wedding the night before! How about taking your job seriously and getting to work on time! I will look for a different store if I need to rent a tux in the future. Poor customer service!

Also on the…read morefirst fitting the pants were long by 2 inches on the second fitting which happened cause I called to confirm, the pants were now wider but length was good, I kept the pants as it was two days away from the event and I figured the tightened grips on the side would help but the tightening grips were faulty and did not work so I spent most of my time at the event holding my pants up, I advise the staff of the situation when returning the items and he was apologetic, the staff was customer friendly but the items really put a damper on my experience. Honest review.

We gave her all of our information and told her we'd come back a month or two before the wedding to confirm his measurements and accessories. It was one of the most pleasant experiences of this whole wedding process. Fast forward to two months before the wedding, fiance stops by there to confirm everything. Nobody is there even though sign on the door says they should be open. Try calling later that day, no answer. Next day we try calling again, we're told by someone else that she's not in that day and they don't know when she'll be back. There's nobody else that handles tuxes in that whole place that could help us?? We stop by together another day, closed again during business hours. Fiance tries calling and visiting again, no luck. If the shop was closed on and off for personal reasons or literally whatever, the staff should have told us that and gave us more info on when we could come in. Each time we spoke to them on the phone they were clueless about anything. Finally we've had enough and reached out to a different Tuxedo by Sarno location on the island. Fiance explained the situation to the lady at the other store and she laughed as if it's not the first time she's heard this. She proceeds to look up our account and tells us IT'S BEEN CLOSED. Our wedding is in October, why would our account be closed? This went from being the most pleasant experience to the least, most stressful part. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else!

I was getting remarried and had quite a hard time finding a dress-I didn't have a large budget so I tried Walmart, Etsy, Rent-the-Runway and finally David's Bridal's clearance section. I got a dress from David's Bridal but it was too big-I took it to 2 seamstresses and neither could alter it because of the way the dress was designed. It was 4 weeks from my small, simple ceremony and I was going to end up wearing a dress I wore to another wedding and my son's confirmation. In desperation I started calling actual bridal boutiques. One said they knew they wouldn't have anything that would fit but I could come in the following week. The other said they only carried white dresses, and they recommended I try Shelly Glam. Shelly worked magic with her schedule and she offered me an appointment the same day. At first I looked at the dresses on my own-they were all beautiful. Shelly chatted with me and asked a few questions about what I needed a dress for and what wanted it to look like-length, color, anything specific I was looking for. Within minutes she picked out an absolutely gorgeous dress and encouraged me to try it on. I did-and I knew this was my dress. It was exquisite. Shelly explained how the dress was designed, showed me how the layers of material built up the dress, and how it caught the light. She even used the flashlight on her phone as a spotlight and I watched it sparkle and glimmer and shine. Then she pinned it so I could see how it would look when it was altered to fit me. In the height of prom and wedding season Shelly took time to help me find a dress and altered it so quickly. I was so surprised and so happy. Shelly even made a shawl for me out of the extra material from the hem. While I was at her store I asked her opinion about the shoes, jewelry and mask I had bought and she was so helpful. Each time I went to the boutique she chatted with me while she worked and asked questions so she could help me get exactly what I needed. I'm sorry I didn't go to her boutique from the beginning. I highly recommend her-I wish I could give her a higher rating than 5 stars-she deserves it. Shelly is unbelievably talented and an excellent seamstress who knows trends, classics, and how to make you look and feel beautiful in a dress that was made for you. read more

After countless trips to prom boutiques I was about to give up on finding a dress. I tried ordering dresses but I could never find a dress that fit. I than decided to do a google search and found Shelly's Glam. When I walked in I was greeted by Shelly who was super welcoming. She put on music and told me to relax and have fun. She wanted this to be a good experience for me and it sure was. She started pulling dresses and on the first dress she pulled I fell in love with it. This dress was a one of a kind dress made by Shelly herself. Right when I put it on she started pinning it to my body so I could see how the dress would actually fit. This dress made me feel like a million bucks. I had special requests that I wanted to be changed on the dress and she took those requests and made me feel a lot more comfortable in the dress! I am so thankful to of found Shelly. She made my senior prom a memorable one and I felt so beautiful. I will forever be a customer of her. I was so impressed with their customer service, I signed up on Yelp just to post this review. The ladies here were beyond accommodating in helping my daughter look for and try on numerous dresses in search of just the right one for prom. They absolutely went above and beyond with their assistance and patience! You could tell they knew what they were doing when they clipped and pinned the dresses to show how they would fit and look when altered. Even though it is kind of late in the prom season, they still had a terrific selection of dresses available and they were definitely not average or plain looking- all gorgeous and different! They can do alterations in-house and the prices are significantly more reasonable than where I bought her sweet 16 dress. Wish I knew about Shelly Glam before! Shelly saved the day! After my daughter's prom dress was ruined by a tailor we needed to get a replacement dress within 2 weeks. My daughters heart was set on getting the same dress so I called the original shop we purchased the dress from. They could not (would not) help, but when I called Shelly Glam she called the dress manufacturer and was able to get a new dress cut in 1 day and shipped to her in one week. Everyone else I tried said it would take weeks if not months. She shortened the dress in 2 days and it is perfection! So friendly, so helpful. Next dress we need, we are going right to Shelly Glam. I had only had poor prom dress shopping experiences until coming into Shelly Glam yesterday! My mother and I were so beyond pleased- as we first walked in. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and supportive, and they completely eased my mind when dealing with my indecisiveness. I had a specific budget in mind, and they were able to work within it to find me the absolute perfect dress. Since I live in Manhattan and commute to Paramus, their excellent communication and transparency when the dress arrived made the process incredibly smooth. Their seamstress, Nelly, is absolutely phenomenal and immensely talented; she went above and beyond by showing me exactly how to bustle the dress and letting me video the process so I would know what to do on the big day. Separately, she also used leftover bridesmaid dress fabric to create custom pocket squares for the groomsmen, and she executed them beautifully.

They advised me to create a wishlist list of gowns from their website. When I arrived, they had the ones that were in stock ready for me to try on. I truly felt like I was given the Red Carpet treatment here! Not only were they courteous but you can tell they enjoyed their job. I was not rushed or intimidated into buying anything. It was a pleasant and relaxed experience and I found my dress that day! I'm so thrilled and I looked amazing. Thank you!

I was given the wrong style, my fiancés was a different color than what we ordered. I appreciate that they tried to resolve it but ultimately we were made to feel as if we were the ones that did wrong. So that right there ended any possible chance of me settling on something else in store. We walked out with a full refund and nothing to wear days before the wedding. Luckily, there was a tux shop just down the block (Tuxedos by Rose) who had the exact styles we wanted (slightly cheaper) and are able to rush and have it ready next day. Not ideal, but we made due with the situation. Do better! We were very clear as to what we wanted. Don't promise what can't be delivered.

I…read morevisited several stores and boutiques before coming to VERA'S and I was getting a bit discouraged because I tried on at least 3 dozen dresses and I loved parts of some dresses but never the entire dress. When I first walked into Vera's I was greeted so warmly by the reception, namely Irene. The shop was super clean and looked fairly organized. I was paired with Tiara and I showed her a few images of dresses I tried on before with parts that I loved in each one. She picked out 3 dresses for me. What an eye she has! When I tried on the first one, I KNEW IT WAS THE ONE! It's like watching Say Yes To The Dress when brides just feel it's "the one". I tried the other two anyway and after both, I still felt like I needed to try the first one again. Joanna is a magician. The dress was a size 10 and she needed to take it in to a size 4/6. The final fitting was so surreal, the dress fit me like a glove. My dress is intricate with beading and lace and it's crazy how she was able to alter all of it seamlessly!! Because the dress was a floor sample, and not my size, it was at a better price point than a lot of other boutiques. I felt very valued here compared to other boutiques. If I had to recommend a bridal shop, I would highly recommend VERA'S!

The staff was extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Every visit to Vera's was seamless and enjoyable. Their seamstress was also very talented and made me feel calm and reassured at every fitting. I received endless compliments and would absolutely recommend making this your first choice for a bridal studio.
