I had gained a few lbs and the suits I had did not fit well enough for what I needed. I went to Men's Wearhouse in Paramus and had a great experience. The suits were ready in literally a day. Because of the line of work I am in things change rapidly and it turned out that I never had to actually wear the suits at all. I went online to look up the policy on returning suits that had been tailored and from what I found it seemed like mostly people had positive experiences returning tailored suits. I thought that since there was minimal tailoring to the suits and what most of the reviews said that I would be able to return the suits without any issue and also knowing I would not get the money back for the tailoring because that service was provided. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Within a week of purchasing the suits I returned to the Men's Wearhouse in Paramus with the suits in the exact same bag with all of the tags on them. The garment bag wasn't even opened outside of the store. I was met with an extreme level of unprofessionalism. I pled my case to the associate and he was acting as if I was trying to return stolen merchandise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I referred to the website and he said it is managers discretion as to whether or not altered items would be allowed to be returned. I explained that I was very satisfied with the product and the customer service but I did not need the suits and right now our family needed the money more then the suits. I did not return the suits that day and left the store extremely frustrated. It was only when I told the associate that I was a first responder that his attitude changed but at that point it was too late and I knew the situation would not be resolved at this time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I contacted the corporate Men's Wearhouse and explained my situation. I received very good customer service and was told to return to the store with the suits and try to return them again. They said they had spoken to the manager there and that the situation would be remedied.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not only did I receive a quick response from the corporate side, but I received a personal call from the paramus store manager, Cherif. He welcomed me into the store and did everything he could to resolve the situation. If the goal is to get an ill fitting suit, then here's your place. My fiancé did his final fitting this evening, and there was no sense of order in regard to being helped. When he was helped and got his final fitting done, the suit vest looked terrible and was loose looking and floppy.. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The associate just said "well, that's just the way it looks".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What an impressive statement from a place for making sure suits are fitted properly. But the real icing on the cake was the female manager who had Covid. She WAS wearing a mask, but people come to MWH to get/pick up suits for important moments in their lives. Nobody should have to get sick while picking up their suit that apparently can't fit any better while fitting poorly for one of life's most important moments. Is it convenient? Maybe. The reviews for this place are way too low and deceiving. When I went to the store, it's true that it took a while for a salesman to come over. The store appeared short staffed. After around 10 min a salesman came over, and he was great. Marco was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and made great clothing recommendations. He even brought over some very fashionable items that were on clearance, so he clearly is looking out for his customer's best interests and not just trying to inflate a bill. Between the high quality apparel at reasonable prices, and the professional and knowledgeable sales service provided by Marco, this can only be described as a 5 star experience. Stick to your local Tux rental shop. 1) Sent wrong size jacket. Could not get correct (ordered) size in time despite being told you could just go to a store to swap. 2) Pants crease was ironed so many times in 3 different spots they just felt and looked bizarre. 3) The shirt was long past it's lifespan. I needed it in San Francisco, so I got fitted in NJ, and the perfectly sized tux was waiting for my in SF. This time I walked in and found a very helpful salesman immediately. He asked my needs, and pulled the perfect suit off the rack almost immediately. He actually offered a couple, but choosing wasn't hard. I had last minute wedding I needed to attend and wanted to wear a sports jacket. I stopped by MW in Paramus and had a a girl help me out in picking out a jacket. She was very patient with me and even helped pick out the pants and shirt. I didn't get her name. I wish I did. I will be returning to this store as long as I get the attention I received by her. Hopefully she will be there next time I stop in. I would have gave this place 5 starts, but the tailor wouldn't shorten the length of the arms on the sports jacket in time for me to wear it. I rented a tuxedo for my son's wedding. Went for a fitting and all seemed OK. I went with one of my other sons to pick up our tuxes and nothing fit. They were able to find a couple of things that fit my son (badly) but did not have anything for me. The tux they finally gave him was badly wrinkled. They said they could have the right tux for me in the store in 3 days; the wedding was in two days in another state. They then told me they could ship it to my hotel by 8:30am on the day of the wedding. Despite multiple calls to the store and the company itself, leaving messages, being promised repeatedly it would be there, first by 8, then 8:30, then noon. The company rep finally said the store knew that there was no way it would arrive that early when they told me that. Finally, I attended his wedding in a business suit, looking different from everyone else in the wedding party and was angry and embarrassed. The day after the wedding, the tux still had not arrived. I would NEVER use this store for renting anything. The staff was not at all helpful, didn't care about providing any real service and were just anxious to get us done and out of the store. They kept trying to convince us that items fit that we could not even get on. Other people in the store at the time were complaining that items did not fit, they were not getting any assistance, etc. We observed two other people arguing with sales people who were trying to convince them that jackets and pants fit them that clearly did not. If I could give ZERO stars as a review, I would. AVOID this store. read more

This store is selling used returns as new items. I made an online order that was fulfilled by this store for a new shirt. What was delivered was a jacket that appeared to have been bought and returned, as it was clearly worn, washed, and re-tagged. The item is now out of stock, so I have no chance of getting an actual new version of the item I bought. I called them to try to sort it out and they were less than helpful. It's too bad this store has to damage the reputation of all the better Men's Wearhouses out there. read more

My boyfriend went in to get fitting for a suit. He is tall and skinny. He asked for someone to show him a certain price range cause he doesn't wear suits. This was for a wedding. We stood there for 25 min before someone came and said since no one else wants to help you I will. Now we told him the price range before. He brings us over trying on 1000 suits. We tell him we don't want the priciest ones. He look all disappointed then bring us over to another section. Has him try on these really short pants. Then he says we have to have it altered. Omg 2 weeks later they call is to say it's in. Today we went to pick it up. He tries it on and waist too big but everything else is ok. We figure he can wear a belt. The manager who helped us was very nice and knowledgeable. But he cannot make up for the substandard products and service at this store. The other staff are indifferent and make no effort to help. The two custom suits we ordered fit poorly: one had to be discarded and the other went through 2nd alterations and still did not fit. The quality of the suit is as poor as the fit. My son needed a tux for his senior prom and a friend recommended we come here. I am glad I didn't read all the negative reviews first, because I never would have come to Men's Wearhouse. From start to finish I thought they staff was totally professional, friendly, competent and experienced. The nice lady who measured my son was upbeat and friendly, and even laughed at our mediocre jokes :) He wanted to wear a tuxedo with tails and sure enough, they had it. I also had a $40 discount coupon which made the price of the rental even better. The only hiccup was a slow fitting process when we arrived to pick it up-- they really could use another fitter in the back as the one guy doing all the fitting was definitely overworked. Aside from that, I really liked this place, my son looked fabulous, and it went better than expected. Only one suggestion if you consider going here for your formal wear-- be patient, especially during prom/wedding season, they're doing their best. Good job. read more

I would never-ever recommend this place to ANYONE. The staff is so unwelcoming and short-tempered. The older men, are so rude and the atmosphere is not welcoming to minorities to say the least. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time. A "gentlemen" saw me standing at a table as I awaited my fiancé and brought two suits over slammed them right before me (meanwhile there were 3/4 other unoccupied tables), proceeded with his customer and threw a shirt on the table in my direction in which almost hit me. It took every nerve and conscious cell in me to not say a word. Again, if you have any pigmentation or melanin in your skin- stay away. Very dissapointed. My friend, who is marrying her best friend, wanted to wear a tux for her wedding. They had measured her wrong, as well as the other grooms in the party. I really did wish I read the reviews before coming here . The staff who work here are completely crooks they will up-sell everything from pants to shoes. I'm sure a few years back the name held true to its value where they would say you're going to like the way you look. But now the saying has no meaning to it, where I'm better off going thesuitoutlet or even to a Goodwill store and probably paying a fraction of the retail value plus commission costs. This particular store in route 17 in Paramus is very frustrating when it comes to service. You are hounded by useless employees when you enter and don't allow you to be at ease and search for what you want. I have been there twice in the last month and both times I have been close to asking them to leave me alone while I look for a suit that I am interested instead of the overpriced suits they pick out. The suit prices there are incredibly marked up, without a sale there is no way a smart individual would buy a suit at their prices. Also, menswearhouse online states suits are in the store but when you arrive to the store listed, they are not there, and the salesman ignore the MW sales as stated online. Like I said, I have been there 2x in the past month, after my first visit they wanted $700 for a suit I went to another store in Paramus and purchased the same exact suit for 1/4th that price. Go here if you need to rent a tuxedo, especially if you're renting for a wedding. If you reserve at least 6 tuxedos, then the groom's tux is free or you get a $500 credit towards a suit. But by the looks of the place, $500 ain't going to go far. I suggest you get the free tux. Now, if you're renting for a prom, then take an adult male that is seasoned in the art of formal dress. No one rocks cummerbunds anymore, not even to be ironic, so if this is your first time renting a tux, take a designated adult. The person to see is Stacey Coyne. She is a professional. She will get you fitted without fret and on your way to the jetset. She's good peoples. If you are here with the intentions of purchasing a suit, then look for the old guy. I scheduled measurements online to rent a tax, came to store, i was treated like s**t, girls in there could not find my reservation despite having reservation # and email printed, then told em to go to another store or come another time. I went to online store ans chatted with customer service with no help...then i received email asking to enter measurements to receive tax i rented on line and paid for, i called the number ans they said i have to go to the store for measurements.I said i went and the guys aid not his issue. he cant send tax unless he has measurements. so i went online trying to cancel the order, twice i was unsuccessful , chat was disconnected. finally i was able on third try. i rented tax somewhere else for double the money .....i wasted good 4-5 man hours trying to get simple tax from them..horrible customer service. read more

This place was okay, typical tuxedo factory type place. Walked in, was asked what styles and colors i wanted. I told them i wanted black suspenders and French cuffs. The girl offers me this tux package for $69, it sounds good. A few days later i pick up the tux, try it on, everything fits. I'm about 6'9, but am not that wide, so I come here alot since they are one of the few retail stores that carry my size. Selection is typically solid. I've had three different salesmen help me since I started shopping here. Two of them were excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable and very good at navigating the sales and specials. The third got us a good deal, but was a bit rude. He also didn't have a great eye for shirt/tie combos. The tailoring department here is terrible. On multiple occasions, it's taken well over 60 days from time of purchase to the time I walk out of the store with the suit. I now go in with the expectation they will not get the first set of alterations right. I only have my suits tailored here because they provide a lifetime guarantee on the tailoring and any men's warehouse will re-tailor your suit at no additional charge. I've never had an issue with returns/exchanges. I'll usually call ahead and they'll have the proper size set aside waiting for me. I'd like to give this place a 4-star rating, but I've had far too many issues with the tailoring department. read more

horrible. bought a supposed on sale suit for close to $500. listed at some ridiculous number supposedly as regular price, after 4 or 5 times attempting to tailor, had to trade in for another suit, but sales person tried to talk me into taking what was a clearly terrible tailoring job. even replacement suit wasn't tailored correctly but needed it quickly at that point. he actually said it was a closeout so what do I expect! wow. then tried to sell me wrong color shoes saying the display model was that color because of fading. clearly not. finally after pressing him he found the correct same color shoe. surprise surprise...
