    Brisket special
    Tom B.

Driven past this spot for years. Finally decided to give it a try. Not totally what we were expecting. Parking is a little awkward as you park on the side of the road. Walked in to a pretty tiny bar with a very few tables. Half a dozen video poker machines. There is a covered patio. It was pretty cold and one table had multiple smokers. Some ganja was being consumed also. Ate inside. Fairly noisy, however it is a small bar. They have daily specials, today being smoked brisket. Meal came. Brisket was pretty good. Tender though not real smoky. Small corn cob was pretty soft from overcooking. Scalloped potatoes were OK. Just seemed like sliced potatoes with cheese melted on them in the microwave. Toast was fine. Extreme small kitchen. Surprised they can put out so much food from such a tiny area. Service was good and friendly. Definitely a locals hangout Some aspects were fine for what this place is. The smoking policy, which I assume is condoned lost one star automatically

    Spicy bloody Maria!

Echo Inn never disappoints! The food is always great, and every visit we've had has been a positive one. The red-headed bartender was absolutely amazing--friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. Honestly, all of the staff here have been wonderful every single time we've come in. It's the kind of place that makes you want to keep coming back. Atmosphere is great! Inside is cozy and huge outdoor patio!

Perfect food after a day on the water! Bartender was alone and place was packed but she was working hard to make everyone happy!

    Steak night!

Friday night steak night. Top Sirloin done perfectly with twice baked potato and salad with garlic toast is. Killer meal. I recommend getting here early as parking can be a beast. We'll be back.

Nice fireplace. Place overlooks the Clackamas. Great deck and patio.

A traditional stop for bikers. The food here is truly quality dining. Sunday Bloody Mary and Eggs Benedict can not be beat anywhere ! ! Steak and eggs, and the steak is at least an inch and a half thick ! ! Lots of deck and patio space, parking is limited but worth it the effort. Great, unique place.

For the choices available in the area after tubing the Clackamas river, this place is not bad. Salad was fresh; service with a smile; everyone enjoyed their orders. I wish they had more options without dairy and less deep fried choices. The calamari is delicious; the oysters look phenomenal. Overall, this place would knock it out of the area if they had healthier options. I left satisfied but had that heavy feeling after a deep fried lunch.

Delicious tacos! Love that they use Tillamook cheese and homemade salsa!

Great food! One of my favorites is the club. It is KILLER!!!! I usually spread it out over two meals. Today, the hubby and I tried the tacos. We ordered a dozen to go, thinking they were tiny tacos like most places (tortillas the size of small pancakes), but, these tacos are real tacos! We could have ordered half as many and been filled up (Woohoo! Leftovers do dinner tonight!). These tacos also have REAL cheese, great flavor, and they don't skimp on the meat. At the price, I'm tempted to never make tacos at home again!

Ask the Community - Shelly's Echo Inn

The sign says no one under 21 allowed in the front door. Could you please post that on Yelp to let others know that it is basically an adults only establishment?

If, in fact this is the case, and Yelp would like to have this information added to their "about this place" section, I suggest they parlay that into the quiz given in the "check in" section.

Fellow Portlanders, if you go out to the river, come here for food & prepare to have your mind blown by pre Covid prices & nice wait staff. Ask for Laurie & Soleil! Some would say dive bar, but I see Ponderosa pine bar tops with a live edge & reclaimed wood line the bar walls. In December 2023, the bar came under new management & there have been a lot of upgrades since then. Street parking & a small bar lot. Parking is limited... which brings me to a gentle warning: If you are going to the river for a day trip, I do not recommend parking here and leaving the bar. People get towed. The patrons of the bar are mostly regulars/locals who have developed a relationship with the bar staff, & they have an idea of whose cars are whose. I would not play that game of parking your car here and going to the river. That said, if you're coming back from the river and looking for a place to eat, I'd definitely park it here.

After getting sat down, we just... waited. For about 10-15 minutes, nobody showed up. Eventually a server came and took our order in a very disinterested fashion. We ordered a cocktail, the bruschetta appetizer, and then a burger, the king salmon and a plate of chicken pasta in white sauce for the little one. Everything took forever to come out (even the drink), nobody came out to check or refill waters in the 90 minutes we were there. Cocktail (Spring Break) - 5/5 great! Bruschetta - 3/5. Generally good but the bread was carbonized and as hard as a rock. Burger + fries - 3/5. Burger looked sad but was actually pretty tasty, if a little overcooked. Fries looked great (hand cut) but upon us closer inspection in the low light, you could see they were 50% those tiny peel pieces that get burned when frying. Guys! You are supposed to take those pieces out! Salmon - 3/5. Kind of... fine. A little fishy, not really what i expect for King salmon. Chicken pasta for toddler - 4/5. Actually this was delicious (if a bit overcooked) and it will my leftover lunch (toddler didn't eat it but that isn't the pasta's fault). Total bill for everyone, with tip: $126 So pretty mediocre food, downright bad service, and premium pricing. It's a pass from me!

The menu consists of starters, salads, entrees and drinks. The portions are good size to me; having the side house salad, bruschetta and the starter meatballs were enough for a meal! All three were good. They also have a variety of drinks with classic cocktails, specialty cocktails and a variety of whiskeys to choose from. Parking gets a little crazy on a busy friday night as the lot fills up fast. The brunch menu sounds good so I will have to visit again!
