The facility looked well kept and clean. There's a very big selection on dogs specifically and if you are a bit educated about shelter pets and are willing to be patient and maybe even consider some training, you will find a pet there for sure. I always like to remind people, specifically people who've never done this before, this is a place where animals from all walks of life get taken to. Some of them, if not most, will be showing some signs of kennel stress. It's always good to take your time with looking at them and ask as many questions as you can. Adoption is not something one should be impulsive about.

They would not accept that and told me I would be charged with animal abandonment which is insane because they used to have cages you can leave pets in after hours ? I didn't have a choice but to leave the dog . I thought I was doing a good deed to prevent the dog from getting hit but left feeling with regrets . One of the employees stepped in front of my car to prevent me to leave which is false imprisonment and I will counter sue for . They were also screaming at me while I was leaving , officer that came in didn't try to deescalate or see what the situation was . Crazy how our tax dollars are being spent . Sad part is that I wanted to give them my information in case the pups owner were not found . I just saw a collar and tag and assumed she was chipped and wanted to do the right thing . I hope she is doing well , although all this drama came from it I will not let these people make me feel bad for doing the right thing .

But let me tell ya, these people... they're the real deal. The staff there, they're not just on the payroll--they're made. Made of the good stuff. Incredibly helpful, extremely nice, and kinder than you'd ever expect. They answered all my questions without making me feel like a palooka and they handled the whole operation with class. The facility itself is what it is. It's an older establishment, you know? They're workin' with what they got. But you don't judge a book by its cover, and you don't judge a place by its linoleum. It was clean, and that's what matters. The process, though? Smooth. Very professional. No funny business, no hidden fees. I'm attaching the price sheet they gave me--everything's on the level, very reasonable for what you're getting. They made sure the pup and I were a good fit. It felt less like a transaction and more like... an introduction to the family. So now I'm a believer. I went in skeptical, and I came out a big proponent. I came across Richard and Grant, who were adopting out a 6 mo pup and they held my hand through my exhaustive and long term researching of whether I should get an adult, rescue or a peeing wiggly puppy. They scouted around for some younger, but not very young pups as possibilities. They showed me some terrific and adorable adult Doxies. But I became highly addicted to visiting them and sitting in the middle of a wiggly, cute puppy pile over the months that I was researching. They always welcomed me into their home, gave me good advice and generally became attuned to what kind of dog would fit into my family. Despite my friends beating me with the guilt stick for not taking on a rescue, I did not feel that I was adopting from a puppy mill but from loving responsible breeders. My husband was slowwww to convince, but one visit to their place and seeing all the healthy well behaved adults and the freakin' adorable puppies and he was hooked. They paired me with a little chocolate female mini/tweenie at 5 weeks and permitted me visitation rights for the weeks until she was old enough to go home. The sent me pictures and generally put up with my child replacement neurosis. I enjoy visiting Richard and Grant as much as their puppies. This is another non profit organization that rescues animals and tries to find forever homes for…read morethem. My boyfriend and I have seen them (usually the lady the runs the rescue) at the Unleashed off of East H St. in Chula Vista, on Sundays. I believe they're there from 10am-2pm running their adoption events. There are usually a handful of animals, usually dogs found in the corner, by the front register. The lady that runs the rescue is pretty nice and informative with the animals that are in her care. When I spoke to her, she let us know about the animals that she has are out the events (their breed, personality, age, etc). She has said that they have over a hundred animals that they rescue and the animals either stay either her or fosters until the animals can be adopted. I have gone on their website and it's not as up to date with the information, so I would suggest contacting them or going to one of their events to see what animals they do have. It's nice to know that you are given a week to see if the animal you want to adopt will work for you and your family. If the animal doesn't fit, you can bring them back the following week and what you pay for the adoption is refunded to you. You are always welcome to return the adoptee to the organization any time after adoption instead of having them go to a shelter or giving them away another way. The lady that runs it is pretty upfront with how the adoption process goes and does try to find a good fit for you and the animals she cares for. I would give her a try if you are trying to find a new fur baby! They are always getting new rescues, so check back, or just let them know what you are looking for and you may end up with an awesome new fur baby for your family!

She listened…read moreto the phone recording and let my family choose our treatment plan for this month while my cat is not well (as well as recommending a antibiotic vaccine to help with healing) and then switch to the more invasive treatment plan that they recommend for next month. I still do not agree with requiring indoor cats to have rabies vaccines every couple years but this is their specific policy as they are worried for their staff contracting rabies. The waiting room still smelled bad but not as bad as yesterday. I appreciate the call and explanation. I hope this doesn't happen again or to anyone else. I will only be seeing the director from now on as she is reasonable and fair. She cares about retention of clients/patients and will not let your fur baby leave untreated. Thank you Doctor!
